I don't think a game should ever be remastered if it's not more than 10 years old. Give a new wave of gamers the opportunity to enjoy a classic while rewarding those who played the original. Remastering this series makes FAR more sense to me than The Last of Us... which came out last year? Why?
I would take another 10 years of graphics like this if they just improved the game-play.
If you've played Superstar mode or w/e it's called now, where you control just 1 player. There needs to be more variety to make it interesting, particularly on the defensive side. I agree QTE's aren't necessarily what the game needed, but the defensive side of the ball was in dire need of change. I would have been happy if they took the existing controls and made them even remotely useful. I think anybody can agree that once you are locked up and blocked on the defensive side ...
What's the most alarming to me is that they aren't being resourceful in the progression of this series. Take the EA NCAA team was largely disbanded after the college lawsuits popped up... why not poach your own talent from your own team with intimate knowledge of the game of football and design tools and let them build you a shiny knew engine that integrates what fans are asking for without hamstringing your own yearly production schedule?
My favorite AI pass issue, when the guards are back to take the inbounds after a score. Defend the guard with the in-bounder nearest to him. The ball will be in-bounded to the open player. Shadow the guy the ball was originally targeted for down the court and when you cross midcourt walk the passing lane toward the ball carrier between the guy you shadowed.
You'll find that about 75% of the time the game will force a pass directly at you to the original target for the inb...
You earn plenty of VC. You can play 1 season and have a player that is on par with the best in the league.
What ever happened to people investing time for a proper reward? It shouldn't be immediate gratification for everything, what fun does a game with character development aspects become if everything is available all at once?
I had a conversation with somebody about this the other day and a few thoughts popped into my head.
Go Back...
We know that the Leviathan's considered themselves the original Apex race... but they created the Reapers as a way to preserve true organic life. They saw their subservient races creating synthetic life which lead to mass destruction, just as current story line arc features Quarian and Geth civil war. It was the original synthetic 'intelligen...
Am I the only one that cringes and immediately thinks 'douche bag' whenever somebody criticizes visuals?
I haven't' had a chance to play this game yet, although I may soon borrow a copy and a ps3 to give it a shot... but this is a terrible choice for a remake. It was released a little over a year ago, how is there a market for a game that most people still have for their Ps3? Dig a little deeper, and give this game a few years for the nostalgia to bubble up and then come out with it. Seems silly to me that they are rushing to put a remastered product back out soo quickly.
Games should 100% be made the way 'you' want them to be made. Make a game you would love to play, people will come.
The vision is yours, with marketing you sell them on that vision. That is how a game becomes successful. The community doesn't know what it wants, it desires more of the same. The community cannot describe new and fresh.
Community is a great source of feedback & input, it's not where you establish the structure for your creat...
I don't own either console, but... with the online connection and upcoming updates, would it be too far fetched to think that the dev's wouldn't provide more campaign content?
We know they are working on game modes, maps, and in all likelyhood, additional content... I don't think it's too far off to think they might give a little more in the way of story.
Justa thought.
It's a popularity contest.
For every Monsanto, Pfizer, Phillip Morris, Walmart, and McDonalds... there is 1 Electronic Arts.
You can poison my food, overcharge me for my medicine, trick my children into smoking cigarettes, create more socio-economic inequality, and tempt me to super size it... but the moment you effect my free time... I won't forget it.
lol
Should work great so long as they are as gullible and as thoughtless as us Americans.
Easy, change the name to...
神風ボックス、そのソニーのゴミ箱よりも多くの日本人
^Kamikaze Box, more Japanese than that Sony trash.
I loved the Civilization series and haven't had a chance to played this one yet. I would much rather a Civilization game over 90% of the rest of the video game library that they could have picked from.
If people were expecting something they could download and mindlessly play quick, I could see why they would be upset.I count this game as a win, the Civilization series is fantastic, and a lot of fun could be had playing this game. Just because something is new, doesn't make it better.
Totally, a new Xbox 360 has way more value at it's current ticket price than a new/used Xbox 1. The same could be said of a new PS3 to a new/used PS4.
Until XB1 get's the library of games that I think warrant the expenditure, I will stick with my 360.
From the perspective of system specs, there is enough advancement that I know games will look better and play smoother... but more exciting to me is the ability for devs to make 'bigger' games.
There's a real big part of me that hopes that people who fawn restlessly over resolution are visiting their eye doctor weekly with a mindset of...
"My eyes need to be PERFECT for me to enjoy this!"
Show me the picture and I'll tell you if I think it looks nice. I won't stipulate a resolution number to assign it and look on in disgust. Give me great art concept over resolution any day.

Because if certification takes a month, they would have approximately 30 days with their product in front of additional eyes. Giving them a month to produce a patch that can help with any balancing tweaks, pathing errors, level design flaws, and system glitches or exploits that testers encounter in that time.
Only at the expense of gameplay. As somebody who loves the television series I definitely have an appreciation for the story telling... but the satisfaction could be gleamed just as easily watching gameplay on youtube.
