Whoa. I was just expecting some cleaned up sprites and widescreen, but it looks like they went from the ground up. Looking really, really good. Kinda sad to hear it's a YEAR away, though.

@rezzah

Well, no. The dude definitely gave the impression that he was going to rape her. The real issue here is that the scene was obviously meant to disturb, not endorse.

I mean, do these people really think the (majority) of gamers were thinking to themselves "Yeah! Rape her good!" when they saw that scene? No, if the majority was anything like me, they were probably thinking something along the lines of "I wanna shoot that guy in the head wi...

The emotionless doll-faces kinda freak me the hell out, but I gotta say, the environment looks outstanding.

It's kind of sad that he hasn't seen a substantial number of sales on Steam, but my theory is (because this is what I did) people heard about the game through greenlight, figured out it was already out on mobile devices and just downloaded it there before it was officially released on Steam.

I think as far as the artistic side of these games is concerned, there are perhaps some times that people go overboard....but from a consumer perspective, these devs and publishers deserve everything they get, shy of death threats of course. The stuff they've been doing is despicable and they need to know that people are pissed off.

One of the article comments had it right. If they really wanted to give us a reward without really giving us anything, they would let us pay without going through their insulting points system.

I am unconvinced....

I don't think it's been "a long time now."

I'll admit that Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3 and SWTOR seemed to be...um....tainted by corporate finger-poking, but up until these last couple of years I still absolutely loved everything they were doing.

The first Dragon Age was a GREAT game.

Yeah, as disappointed as I was with the writing and the ending in the third one, the only monsters here were the fans, I've gotta say.

Sony better include a free pair of pants with every system they sell if they're going that route.

I don't think it's even a matter of fans being stubborn. They took out a lot of what made the franchise fun and exciting, meaning the game was genuinely poorly designed.

It would have been an unfun game regardless, but it hit fans even harder because it was an unfun Ninja Gaiden game.

Only at level 32 right now, but I've been having the most fun with a melee spec for Zer0. Decepti0n together with Execute and Backstab scores some CRAZY numbers.

Well, I've kind of come to accept that the Vita is sort of a nostalgia machine, first and foremost.

I mean, yeah there are some stellar original games out or coming out, but for the most part I've been playing the hell out of PSOne classics, and I find myself most looking forward to all these little Japanese gems (forgotten or otherwise) they seem to like porting over.

"You don't throw down that much money over that long a time unless you know there is a reward for taking such a risk."

I know, I'm totally with you, but therein lies my confusion. The market is littered with seven years worth of failed attempts at capturing that crowd. Millions and millions of dollars have gone down the drain - and yet we still can't get past loot-based MMORPG's.

It's not a matter of Western vs. Japanese games. More than probably any other publication, they operate pretty openly within the "courtesy system."

Though, I'm not 100% with Carl_Shocker. It may not look or play like a Resident Evil game at this point, but it does look like a pretty good action game.

^ The mark-up is consumer rape, plain and simple. They'll give you like ten bucks for your games and then sell them used for five dollars off retail. It's really crazy.
