Yeah, 12 hours is actually a respectable length for a campaign. Plus there's so many reasons to play through it multiple times it's not even funny.
Yeah, there probably aren't a whole lot of genuine scares in Dead Space. It's more just disturbing due to the imagery. Like the dead babies and the bloodied crew killing themselves and general grotesqueness of the necromorphs.
I don't really think either of you were trolls, to tell the truth. People are way too goddamned sensitive about this stuff.
Bouncing anime breasts?
I have to admit, I've been pretty underwhelmed with the system's core library, but even if you don't necessarily want to use it to play slightly downgraded PS3 games, you STILL have access to a huge selection of original PSP games, PSOne Classics, PSN exclusives and those few original hidden gems that aren't just ports or "reimaginings"...and you'd be hard pressed to play any of that on a better looking screen.
Not that I'm trying to defend D3, because I actually despise it and what it stands for with every ounce of my being, but last I heard it sold very well and is STILL doing pretty well through the RMAH...
That was like a Michael Bay film, except the story was much deeper.
100% agree with you there. Nothing has ever frightened me like Amnesia frightened me. The psychological stuff is bad enough, but take away a gamers guns, and you're going to have a lot of terrified gamers...
It could be good. They just need to stop letting EA fondle their games with their greedy little fingers. It's pissing EVERYONE off.
Kewl score.
I spell it that way so you know that I am serious biz.
I know it's not how mainstream America is interpreting it, but Psy is actually well known for his parody and satire of K-pop. Gangnam Style is poking fun at a lot of the industries more inane fads.
Unfortunately, with most people over here it only registers as another case of crazy Asian shenanigans. Tomfoolery, if you will. Malarkey, horsefeathers, hooey, balderdash, tommyrot. All that jazz.
This was actually an interesting article...I don't say that much about Kotaku, nowadays.
Uncharted 2
Dark Souls
Bioshock
Portal 2
Super Mario Galaxy
Hard list to make. Five games is hard to assemble from an ENTIRE generation of games. Let's just say I wouldn't feel comfortable etching that list into stone.
You're right about all that. Surprisingly, I've heard Dishonored is selling fairly well, so I guess that's a little bit of good news on that front.
I'd like to say that eventually this creative stagnation will bottom out once consumers get tired of playing such similar games over and over, but if ANY of the other entertainment mediums are any indication, there's only going to be two camps: AAA or indie, with very little in between.
It's not an Otaku sin to admit that not EVERY niche Japanese game that makes it over here is some sort of hidden gem.
Granted, our review system is screwed up, but I'm kinda finding myself annoyed by the characters and gameplay shortcomings a lot more than I usually am in these kinds of games...
The best games are the ones (like SotC and Ico) that don't have to cater to a certain demographic to succeed.
Not that they CAN'T appeal to specific demographics, but when you have a game that tries way too hard to be "adult" or one that sacrifices all semblance of intelligence to appeal to the kiddies, it means that the developers weren't really in it to build upon an inspired concept in the first place.
Gracious. That woman in the thumbnail appears to be aiming a rather raunchy flatus forth the woman with the horizontal inclination.
Well that was just rotten of Apple (pun intended and hilarious).
Definitely want Mitsuda, though I'm more worried about the absence of Sakaguchi. I feel like his departure is one of the big reasons SE's AAA franchises have been suffering lately.
Hopefully they'll get some of the other big names from the previous two games, but I just...have so little faith in SE these days.
Yeah, I felt the same way. How can a game like Dishonored have such a great intro and prologue, and then resort to a frikkin collage for the ending?
So many games do this to us these days. The ending is EASILY one of the most important parts of a successful narrative.
