Oh, come on. Sure, there has been an annoying trend this generation to create and convert games into shooters, but you don't marginilize an entire generation over it's tropes and cliches. A great many of the best games of the generation are not shooters at all.

If we took the worst of every generation and compared them, the results would be shockingly depressing.

^ Well, it's still horror even if it doesn't technically scare you. "Horror" just refers to the aesthetic and thematic elements within the game, not whether or not you are subjectively frightened by those things. The game is filled to the brim with horrific imagery.

Admittedly, DS seems to want to disturb more than it wants to "scare," though.

They have a sexy herpes cream for that.

Are you trying to tell me that you DON'T want to see a SW movie starring the Binks?

Yeah, aside from the contrast (which LoT has ALWAYS been stubborn about adjusting for the PS3, for whatever reason) these look almost exactly the same....like, closer than any other cross-plat game that's come out in a while.

He's just prone to petty nitpicking, is all. I don't necessarily disagree with the points he brings up about the games he reviews, but he tends to treat every tiny quibble or annoyance as a game-breaking catastrophe, and consequently his scores end up looking like traffic-bait.

VERY excited about Ragnarok, though. This is exactly the kind of game the Vita needed right now.

It really is. There's more variety, more side-quests, improved graphics, more and better characters, and the setting itself is overall a bit more original, given the "traditional" Zelda structure of OoT.

...but, it's like arguing that the Godfather Part II was better than the original. A good case could be made for part II, but only if you ignore the cultural impact the original had on the industry at the time. OoT was a game changer and MM was a refinement ...

I missed it way back when, so the DS release a few years back was a godsend.

Usually when I play older games, nostalgia is a big part of the enjoyment, but obviously there was no nostalgia involved with this one. I GENUINELY loved playing that game, even by today's standards. Now that's staying power.

As always, the internet takes up the "justice torch" way too vehemently, but I don't think it's "ridiculous" to be upset with a shameless, intrusive advertisement.

I understand that companies need to get their products out there, but there are MUCH more eloquent, consumer-friendly ways of doing it than this.

He's a corporate shill. He is the executive producer of the Spike TV Video Game Awards, an award show that is essentially just one big circle-jerk of advertisement shenanigans, and as the photo suggests, he's no stranger to throwing his integrity in with whoever will pay him.

It's different with celebrities and the like that take on sponsorship deals. To be a journalist, to be someone that claims to speak and report from a position of non-bias, it is ESSENTIAL to ...

I agree with this person.

The ending, like so many games these days, was abrupt and pretty disappointing, but it was just such an interesting, unique ride.

Though, honestly DE:HR was just slightly less surprisingly great.

I just plays games, man. I just plays me some games.

I agree with a lot of his gripes, except that I actually enjoyed the dialog very much. You actually get to know Emily and Samuel pretty well over the course of the game, and I don't want to spoil anything, but it kind of becomes clear later on why the other members of the resistance keep a more utilitarian relationship with Corvo.

Plus, I don't know if he just wasn't listening, but not all the guards walk around spewing "I'm a bad guy" dialog all the...

Because he's goddamn Emilio Estevez, that's why. You think a man that has lead the Mighty Ducks to victory three consecutive times would have any LESS bubbles?

Yeah, it was great. One of the DS's best, as far as I'm concerned. If you liked Hotel Dusk, you'll definitely love these games.

The only thing is, and I don't mean to scare you off, it can get pretty rough at times if you're sensitive to that kind of thing. There's some disturbing stuff in there. Nothing as disturbing as, say, Corpse Party, but still it can get pretty heavy.

It's really great so far. Better than 999 even, as far as the interface is concerned.

It's true...I love the Tales series, but Famitsu scores mean next to nothing.

*sigh* You sure do assume a lot for the sake of argument, don't you? Well, whatever.

I've got no problem with panties and boobs in ecchi games, just FYI. But sexy children is a line I don't like crossing. Just like I don't like crossing certain lines in violence (which you obviously have a problem with too), like rape, torture and killing innocents.

I don't think it should be censored or anything like that because I don't believe in c...

Haha, I know, it's so ridiculous. It reminds me of Lucas attempting to wipe the original theatrical versions of Star Wars off the face of the earth.

It's true that things like texture quality, aliasing and lighting are USUALLY very minimally different between the versions (though there are exceptions), but I always use these head-to-heads to look at screen tearing, frame rate, and load times. They're very useful for that stuff.
