The man just seems mentally unstable at this point. You inevitably have to start interpreting his boasts and exaggerations as full blown lies. Once you realize that he's done this crap...with LITERALLY EVERY FRIGGIN GAME HE'S RELEASED since Black & White, you just stop feeling sorry for the man because he's obviously ridiculously delusional.

Game looks incredible...but does anyone else think that ssao is probably the most misused graphical technique of the entire generation? It went from a technique that increased shadow detail, to a technique that just adds "shadow auras" to everything. It's like this gen's lens flare.
It comes with all the expansions and Final Doom levels. BFG only comes with the original two games. Not trying to say the price is right, but if you just want to play the classic games, this collection is much more comprehensive.
Kinda went crazy with the bloom and depth of field there, but it is pretty, I'll say.
Yeah, I've played the three on the list that were actually available in the US, and even then, I've only played the Neverhood on PC...because IT WASN'T AVAILABLE ON THE PLAYSTATION IN NORTH AMERICA.

It really doesn't matter at this point. Ninja Theory pissed off the "fans" enough that the game could be unequivocally the best in the series, and no one who has already made up their mind would give it a second thought. Too many people are locked into "hissy-fit mode" now.
I have read his reviews...and it just so happens that, having now played the game, I feel it applies to this particular review as well.
I acknowledge that he hits on some of the game's problems, and yet it STILL seems like petty nitpicking considering how critically he lets petty annoyances ruin ENTIRE games for himself.
It kind of seems like Nintendo is deliberately withholding stock like they did with the Wii. Most of the places I've called claimed that they're not going to be receiving more systems until mid-December, which is actually a pretty crazy turn-around time.
An established library of games? Price drops? Remodels?
There are a TON of reasons not to buy at launch.
You always have to take Sterling's scores with a grain of salt. I admire that he's not afraid to actually bring up a game's problems (sadly an inexplicable problem in game journalism these days), but he's so prone to petty nitpicking that he can often make even the smallest hiccup in game design seem like a game-breaking train wreck.
For what it's worth, Scribblenauts is actually one of the best reviewed launch games for the Wii U from most other sites so ...

Everyone likes to use the "oh, but MURDER is okay!?" line of logic, but just think about how tiring and annoying it has been to see developers exploit violence in so many games these days, and then think about what the industry would become if sexuality became an even more viable point of exploitation in the industry as well...

The sad thing is there's really just no good way for consumers to buy games these days. You either get raped by Gamestops RIDICULOUS mark-ups on their used games, or you support the developers/publishers...and let them rape you with their tyrannical DRM and anti-piracy bullshit.
It's truly sad that our only choices are to be treated like saps or criminals depending on how we buy our games...
It's all technically "art." Art, by it's technical definition, is just an expression of creativity in a presentable form.
What people REALLY mean when they get into these discussions is what constitutes "inspired" art...and that's a question no one will ever be able to objectively answer.
^ It's really more about the precedent it sets for the industry. It doesn't necessarily run any slower than 7 (and in fact, the one saving grace of the OS thus far for me has been how quickly it boots), but when an app that makes things more "desktop-friendly" is almost a required download for those of us not using a touch-based system, things are not as they should be.
