Yeah, I agree.
If it's done like Telltale, then godspeed.
If it's done like Valve....god help us all.
You all misunderstand my meaning. I don't mind sex and eroticism in games AT ALL if it feels like it fits the context of the game.
Heavy Rain, for example, presented nudity and sexuality that did not feel out of place in it's narrative ark. A game like Catherine is overtly sexual because it's context CALLS FOR IT. Even a game like Lollipop Chainsaw is presented as a kind of parody of the very content we are arguing over. All of that is fine.
Even ...
I'm with you all the way there. It would be VERY nice if EA went back to roots, but seeing as it was their decision to go the more action-oriented route in the first place (because by god, it's useless if it's not pushing CoD/BF numbers, after all), I doubt that will ever be the case.
....unless they're employing a "Coke Classic" marketing scheme...seedy bastards.
I think the point is that "adults" do not require sexuality to be sold to them at the cost of all context or pretense.
I like ogling women too, but I also like playing a game that doesn't make me feel like developers adjusted their vision because they thought a pair of virtual boobies would sell a couple of extra copies.
It makes me sad that censorship pulls attention away from how ridiculously stupid and generic this crap coming out of Japan is nowadays. No one cares that this is like...the millionth game of it's kind to come out of Japan this year with this kind of content. Everyone just cares that Youtube doesn't like boobies.
Oh well. I guess we've got our guns and explosions and Japan's got it's ridiculous sexual stuff. Tit for tat...pun intended.
Billy Crystal will do it. I heard he's level capped like ten characters in WoW, all of them female Night Elves. That's pretty hardcore.
^ They gave her the "pixie" treatment. It's a handful of facial features that developers think all men like to see in female faces (bigger eyes, rounder cheek and jawline, pouting lips, etc.). Nothing wrong with that, but I kinda prefer the old model better too. It was a little more unique.
The only headset I've ever heard that actually held it's own in the sound quality department was the Beyerdynamic MMX 300...but they're ridiculously overpriced at $350.
The Astro A40 (which seems to be the golden standard amongst gamers, for whatever reason) has fairly good positioning, but in all honesty the AKG Q701's COMPLETELY blow it out of the water in every way imaginable, even in soundstage and imaging.
You can get a Q701 and a Zalman...
HL2 still holds up remarkably well, as far as I'm concerned. The story has all but lost it's intrigue and luster at this point (thanks in no small part to Valve's own baffling release cycles), and obviously it's going to lose it's graphical edge over time, but it still puts most newer FPS's to shame in terms of design and variety.
Yeah, Naughty Dog are some of the best around at writing characters. They don't write "gay characters" or "straight characters" or this or that type of character. They write characters that extend well beyond single word descriptors.
GLAAD is just another support group that revels in self-irony on a regular basis, but it's good to see that they got one right for a change.
I gotta agree. I think as far as shooting mechanics are concerned, FEAR may be the best there has ever been.
Much as I love the game, though, it would not be the what I point people to when they ask for the greatest FPS ever made.
Whether the disagrees are just because you mentioned the XBOX or not...this is totally true.
The U.S. has it's big dumb explosions and guns, and Japan has scantily clad big breasted women...or prepubescent girls.
I will never understand the appeal of the sexy children, but there you go...
Too many of these lists are almost completely dominated by JRPG's. I love the music in a lot of JRPG's, but there is a TON of other incredible stuff out there.

I don't think anyone is denying that it's a better looking game on PS4. Only that this is not the dramatic "generational leap" the article makes it out to be.
Not that anyone expected it to be. It's a fine looking game, but it's roots are in old tech.
....the scarf makes me look more cultured.
I am surprised you're getting so many disagrees. I thought most people acknowledged that the actual narratives in his games are pretty terrible even by video game standards.
They're still fine games just on the strength of their presentation, but personally I've always found his stories kinda hackneyed and uninspired, especially when he eschews all semblance of context in favor of classic cinematic tropes and cliches.
That is the correct response to that question, Mr. Miyazoe. Well played sir.
@DragonKnight
Personally, I don't mind Nintendo changing things up (and I certainly see the irony you're referring to in some comments around here), but I just have never really been a fan of the Dynasty Warriors franchise. They've always struck me as boring and repetitive...and this is coming from a guy that still likes to play through classic arcade beat-em ups.
It seems like such an odd pairing given how niche Dynasty Warriors is and how NOT ni...
No, it would be more like watching a movie without the sound on.
You are removing an essential element of the experience, and I'm relatively sure that the vast majority of viewers are aware of that fact.
"Let's Play" videos are a product of community, not of piracy.
Didn't you ever have a good time watching one of your buddies play through a game, only to go home and play it yourself? Were you trying to cheat devs out o...
At the end of the day it just doesn't matter one way or the other. I don't think anyone is going to complain about a game drawing inspiration from Demons/Dark Souls if it's done right, and Deep Down is looking very, very right.
