I have to agree with MichaelZack. Grandia 3 was just...all around "meh" for me in the story and characters department.
But good god, that combat system. It's sad that it is doomed to be lost to obscurity. It was a thing of beauty. Everyone I know who has played the franchise says the exact same thing, too. Even sadder considering the poor mechanics people "settle" for nowadays as a concession to "retro-ness" or simply putting up with combat ...

I think the issue is that it was ALREADY a big deal when Microsoft did it. Now, it is naturally being downplayed when Sony was caught doing it.
I agree that this is no big deal, but if we all agree on that, then we all have to agree that everyone was being ridiculous when Microsoft was roasted for doing it.

I just feel like people fail to see the advantages of technological advances that are not superficially attractive. The industry needs to get bandwidth and storage figured out before they start moving into bigger and bigger resolutions. We still watch TV in sub-1080p, for god's sake.

There was a point that Infinite was in danger of not getting released at all because the publishers, for whatever reason, were not confident enough in the project to provide the funding Irrational needed to make the game exactly as they envisioned it.
The Infinite we all know and love is allegedly a SEVERELY gimped version of what Irrational wanted to make.

I have been hearing the exact opposite from...well, pretty much everyone. But alright.
My only gripe is that although I am having fun, I still can't shake the feeling that I am just playing a slightly different flavor of shooter.
I went in with the misconception about the bots as well, though I don't find the alternative that much more compelling. Minions just make me wish they could have found a more focused way to work around their core mechanics. I feel the same way about MOBA's.

Yeah, I'm loving the game, but there are better JRPG's this decade, for sure.
BD definitely takes the nostalgia cake, but games like Persona 4, Xenoblade and Ni No Kuni have just set the bar too high for it to compete on the same level.

The point here is that even if you just wanted to invest in entry level "audiophile" equipment (some quality entry-level headphones, a cheap Fiio DAC/AMP, and something like a Zalman mic or desktop mic), you would STILL be getting much, much better performance than you would out of the A50's for about the same price.

Get some friggin AKG Q701's for $200 which will give you God-tier positioning, directionality, and clarity, then a cheap Zalman mic which I have found gives comparable performance to all of the dedicated microphones I've used on various "gaming headsets."
That IS the real trouble here, I agree. Kids more than ever are growing up digitally. It's not one specific form of media that is instilling that sense of moral ambiguity in young people.
It's the fact that SO DAMN MUCH of a persons development happens through digital media rather than through parenting and peer-to-peer interaction. It's no wonder our whole culture is pervaded by a weird sense of passive apathy these days.
