Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not insecure. It's just that we have been watching this same depiction of geeks since the friggin 80's. It's WAY past redundant at this point.
I've been reading that too. I've played all three, though, and this has been by far the hardest one for me. Sad to say too, though, I also have found this to be the cheapest of all the games by far as well.
@Snookies12
I hate it because it is yet another depiction of geeks as pathetic beta losers that need to be socially "saved" through booze and vagina exposure.
...not that I mind the show's success. People like what they like.
Yeah, I can imagine. You're probably too busy starring...in all....those movies...
Oh sorry. At least you'll always have Tombstone.
I don't necessarily care that it's going to look the same (though obviously I would like it if it looked better).
All I want is the performance gains. If we're still getting slowdown, stuttering, and sluggish menus on the PC...THEN we all have something to complain about.
HAHAHAHAHA! Damn, dude. You're like Polly Shore levels of hilarious. POLLY @&$?ing SHORE!
No, I understand that there are countless wonderful applications for VR...but I don't think Facebook is interested in any of that.
I don't really care to make mock-social interaction anymore viable, to be perfectly honest. Using VR to play a video game for entertainment is one thing, but using it as a proxy to real-life social situations sounds...a little bit insane.
And Facebook has already made it clear that that's mostly want they want to build from this technology. It's not so much that I don't want a non-gaming company funding this tech. It's that I don't want FACEBOOK fundin...
No one said anything about censoring anything, but if the goal is to ham-fist some heavy issues into the game simply to be taken seriously as an adult medium, then he's tackling those themes with the wrong mindset.
Torture and sexual abuse are just very, very tricky subjects to cover in ANY medium. Though it disturbed me in a good way to begin with, I thought Kojima pushed it to the point of near parody by the conclusion, which is a very common problem amongst artists tha...
I don't know if I necessarily agree with that. I mean, I suppose if the gameplay is so obnoxious and poorly designed that it BREAKS the game, then sure. You could make the same statement about graphics, though.
I think it's just important not to make any sweeping generalizations about any one aspect of video games. There have been incredible games that rely solely on things like graphics and storytelling (Journey, The Stanley Parable, The Walking Dead) and then games ...
I feel obligated to throw in my support here.
Chris Hardwick is just...just terrible.
It may not be the hardest overall, but I actually think it has the hardest moments of any Souls game so far. Some of these parts are BRUTAL.
Even most movies have trouble depicting love, to be perfectly honest, because 90% of the time it is only depicted as the stage 1 "sexual attraction" portion of relationships.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, but if the question is "why can games not depict love?" then the answer is because most writers are incapable of producing a love narrative that is anymore deep or meaningful than what can be found in the first fifteen minutes of cheap s...
It's a double-edged sword, for sure. "Internet toxicity" is good for those times when there would be no other way to call out developers and publishers for their constant BS, but it's also made it kind of hard to form a positive gaming community in the midst of this cesspool of whiny, cynical douchebags.
@rdgneoz3
That's really the only thing that annoys me. From Software gave a perfectly legitimate explanation for the downgrade, especially given the hardware the games are running on.
But if some people do not want to purchase the game for that reason, that is their prerogative and there should be a level of transparency from the developers and publishers so that we consumers can make that kind of decision if we want to.
I for, instance,...
Don't get me wrong. I'm still obviously looking forward to HL3, but yeah, I think they waited a few years too long at this point.
The story and characters, for example...I just don't really care anymore.
I don't think gamers are perverts. I don't think it is perverted to get...aroused, and I don't think it's perverted to WANT to get aroused.
I DO think that, as with almost every form of media, it is completely and utterly overused to the point that it has become a generic trope, but I don't think liking to look at boobies is inherently perverted. We all like to ogle.
While I totally agree with the idea that not every game needs a story, to say that it does not RESONATE with gamers as much as gameplay is completely off-base. When it has been done right - as in the case of games like Bioshock, The Last of Us, The Walking Dead - it "resonated" enough with us that those games have become some of the most celebrated in the industry.
I suppose plot-driven games will never push COD numbers, but the actual gaming community (as in, the p...
Weakness: cowardice therefore try Titanfall
Yeah, most people are in the same boat as you guys. I dont know why I'm having such a hard time with it.
Aside from my lack of skill, though, I found that there are a LOT more points in the game that are made artificially difficult this time around (spell spammers, unavoidable damage, iffy hitboxes, crazy enemy lock-on tracking, etc). I love the vastness of the world though. It's still an incredible game in an incredible series.
