It won't be getting any. Most third parties don't see Wii U as a viable platform to support. Of course, it is a shame that no third party is trying to take advantage of the lack of competition on Wii U, but then again, demographic issues and a small install base (currently around 9 million) may not be worth the risk, especially if the title is originally intended to be a Wii U exclusive (see what happened to Rayman Legends).

Xbox had a price cut and a Kinectless model in order for Microsoft to remain directly competitive to Sony. These platforms are targeting the same demographics and the same demographics are being targeted by third parties as well.

Nintendo cannot throw money at the Wii U in order to remain competitive, but then again, Wii U was never meant to be direct competitive platform anyway. Even if Nintendo resorted to a redesign of Wii U or a price cut, the console will cause the comp...

GameCube games were never promised to be on Wii U. Not once. There was a single comment that was made by a Nintendo rep or marketing person, but it was a mistake ,and I think Reggie pointed it out and made a correction. It was at best, a possibility, but a possibility is by no means the same thing as a guarantee. On the bright side, Wii U did end up receiving a couple of Gameboy Advance titles as well as Wii games.

The Zelda tech demo is just that... a TECH DEMO. No tech dem...

For what it is worth, you can at least create your own customized protagonist. Unfortunately, the small black-haired girl will forever have those creepy, large doll-like eyes. I'll never understand Japan's fascination for such things.

Wii U may be struggling badly, but launching a new console by rushing it next year sounds like a bad idea. Some people just don't think about the consequences of such a thing. Nintendo probably won't release a new platform until 2017.

Well, we currently know of 10 confirmed games for Wii U so far this year: Kirby's Rainbow Curse, Mario Maker, Splatoon, Mario Party 10, Yoshi's Wooly World, Star Fox, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Devil's Third Legend of Zelda, and Mario vs. DK eShop title.

note 1: Still waiting for an update on Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei. At E3 in June 2014, the game's development was said to be on schedule.

note 2: Late last year, Nintendo teased us about s...

I don't think he actually meant it would take the average player 300 hours to finish the game, but it would come as no surprise if it can took people even longer than 300 hours to finish the game if they wanted to actually see and do all they could in one play through. Remember, not everyone is going to want to focus on some of the optional content, let alone attempt to complete all of it.

Packed with monsters and sidequests? Most definitely. We already got confirmation of encountering more unique monsters in X compared to the original Xenoblade. We have not yet seen any new towns, but given the sheer scope of the game world and design not being as linear as it was in the original Xenoblade ,we'll most likely see other villages and towns to visit. Speaking of towns, the starting HQ area looks to be a lot bigger than Colony 9's town.

The scale of the g...

Nintendo doesn't make game announcements at DICE, so there's nothing important about Retro's tweet. Given Retro's track record, they don't reveal their games until 5-6 months before release, at least this was the case for the Donkey Kong Country titles on Wii and Wii U (initially for the latter).

Metroid Prime 3 was announced in name only at the Tokyo Game Show in 2005, but the actual game shown was just a demo of Prime 2 using the Wii controls. We didn&#...

Splatoon looks refreshingly cool and innovative. It's about time someone revitalized the shooter genre, but it's kind of funny that Nintendo's the one doing it given their in-house lack of experience. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the game.

As far as Retro Studios goes, there's a rumor that they are currently collaborating with Monster Games on Diddy Kong Racing 2. Monster Games was said to have been working on it initally back on Wii, but the pr...

I don' think Wii U has any sports games. It is however, getting 2 third person shooters with this year's release of Splatoon and Devil's Third.

It's nice to see Nintendo get the recognition it deserves. It has clearly made mistakes with Wii U and the console is going down as the company's worst seller, and much of that is due to Nintendo's own fault. However, no one had to question Nintendo's commitment to the quality of its software. They'll maintain their reputation for that and I think when we look back on the console years from know, more people will acknowledge the value of its worthwhile exclusive library o...

What are you talking about ? Wii U had commercials for all of its big game releases last year. This included DKC: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2 and Smash Bros. We'll probably see a TV ad for next month's release of Kirby & the Rainow Curse. Nintendo also attended nearly all of the major industry events on top of all the Nintendo Direct presentations it released throughout the year.

Nintendo won't officially cut the price of the...

I spotted some more foliage added, changes made to the shapes of the trees, slightly better mountain and grass textures too. Not bad for Monolith Soft's first HD title. Although, I'm sure we'll be more impressed by the attention to detail and scale of the environments than the graphical fidelity of Xenoblade Chronicles X if the first Xenoblade title is anything to go by.

...Why are people waiting for a price drop for Wii U? It's not going to happen. Iwata already said that at the beginning of last year. Wii U is selling at a loss and Nintendo is no longer concerned about acquiring market share, it is just focused on achieving profitability while it can with the Wii U's software and hardware sales (as well as other ways like with the launch of Amiibo). Nintendo is the only platform holder that is purely a game company, whereas Sony and Microsoft hav...

That's a good point, DarkAstronaut. It does seem to indicate a PlayStation-related project.

It's nice to see DKC: Tropical Freeze get some recognition. It may be a safe sequel, but it improves on its predecessor as one of the best 2D platformers. Also, Retro Studios found the missing recipe for Donkey Kong Country, and it is David Wise's music!

Nintendo's being praised this year because Wii U's gradually built up a worthwhile amount of games that people feel justify owning the console for nowadays. Nintendo's always had a history of generally releasing well made, fun games with broad appeal. Wii U's a doomed console sales-wise (no question about it), but it is a winner in terms of its growing list of good exclusives that add perceived value to the platform, and by the looks of it ,2015 will potentially be even bett...

Yes, SNES was a glorious console, but the problem with this is Nintendo treated third parties like crap with its strict policies in order to get what it wanted and no other competitor was around until PlayStation came to provide third parties with an escape from Nintendo's grasp. A lot of people still think the Nintendo Seal of Quality was just a good thing, but it had a negative impact on third parties too. Sega Genesis was not a very strong competitor to the SNES in all but Europe.
