Please give me the abridged version or copy/ paste if you still have the site open. I refuse to give them a click.
You don't need to play something to spout uniformed, myopic nonsense.
This is the internet.
Suppose I should add a "/s" as people tend to click faster than they think these days.
Where did this bottom-feeding site come from? Two flame-bait articles just got posted within seconds of one another.
Less sensationalism and opinion pieces, more developer interviews, tech breakdowns, screen shots and gameplay videos. Sure, that makes your job a little less entertaining (gaming "journalists"), but we get enough riling up and double-speak from the big three manufacturers. We don't need more.
The gaming media is in need of an over...
From your article: "a core AAA shooter experience using Kinect." Nothing else is known about the rest, but I bet at least one more is Kinect based - they need to recoup their costs and are determined to shove the peripheral down everyone's throats.
Do you read what you post? Judging from how successful - read: not successful - Kinect has been with core gamers and for core games, I don't know why anyone is excited for more Kinect 2.0 shovelware.
"For MY MEGATEXTURES!"
Wasn't that his tech-baby? What ever happened with that? Other than Rage being mostly boring?
I thought he was working for FB now.
If they're trying to telegraph $600-700 just to "shock" us with a low price, articles and quotations like this serve no point.
$399 and $499, 2 SKUs, you can hold me to that.
A huge segment of gamers have matured in life and in years since the console business began. We have kids, families, mortgages. Yet the medium remains aimed at 15-25 year old males (for the most part). I like the fact that someone is making adult content for people in my demographic. The man takes the medium seriously as an art form, and attempts to make games that actually cater to the 25+ crowd. That is commendable.
Probably a mod. I'm pretty sure that they have 10.
Edit: -Alpha, you're like one beat ahead of me today lol
Straight from the horse's mouth. Those folks in other threads going off with $600 price tags are totally off base. Read the article and note how non-custom parts are CHEAPER and EASIER to fabricate. I still say that they waiting to see what MS announces for a price tag, which they will then match or undercut.
One SKU at $399, one more at $499 perhaps. I don't see them charging over $500.
Great article. And the underlying message is true. This is a golden age of gaming. The sort of era that if you've been gaming for more than a decade - two in my case - has unprecedented ideas being made real on the screen, visual stimulation and expansive worlds beyond what we ever imagined as children with our C64s and MUDDs. But instead of celebrating, we gripe, and whine and attack each other. Honestly, we should be grateful that we are able to invest so much wasted energy toward hatin...
Next time use a "/s" to indicate sarcasm.
Sarcasm is rarely differentiated from rampant trolling on the internet, as you miss all the nuances of tone and speech.
There's no way that they won't carry PSN tags and trophies over. And absolutely no information to support that claim.
They wrote the worst sort of opinion pieces. Hardly anything factual to their articles and even less thought paid to the review process. I'll be glad to have less "5 reasons why - insert whatever - is failing" articles.
Totally. The game has a simplified hotbar (8-10 skills max, if I recall) and is quite action MMORPGish. It was made for multiplatform play from the get-go, you can see it in the design.
Jek, I said $399-450. Yields increase and prices on components go down daily. If you think that components cost that much you haven't been around a computer in the last decade.
There is no way that Sony will release another $600 box. The lack of custom parts and the reliance on off the shelf components in the design can tell you that.
You're trying too hard to troll. There is no way that this will cost $600. I see $399-450. Sony will announce the price AFTER MS. That's how you do shrewd business. As far as the component costs, they're mostly off the shelf, so manufacturing cost with the discounts Sony gets for such large yields won't be that much.
I bet you that MS' machine will cost more, but they'll try to subsidize it with a locked in Live subscription.
Edit: And...
They're not mentioning the price, because they're allowing MS to do it first at E3. Then you undercut the competition.
I think Sony finally developed some business savvy.
And from a tech standpoint, we can assume that all the leaked specs for both machines are accurate, as it turned out to be the case for Orbis. MS has a slightly weaker GPU and worse memory bandwidth. EDRAM won't make up for that. In fact, its more irritating to program for. Wha...
I think MS will just stay the course with the rumoured 8 GB DDR3 and use marketing and hype to cover up the - quite obvious this gen - gap in power. Just like the Wii U tablet, that Kinect 2.0 in every box will cost a significant portion of the manufacturing costs. They won't upgrade the specs. Particularly not the RAM, as the architecture has been designed around DDR3 and the use of EDRAM.
What people don't realize is that you can't just "swap" parts l...
I bet they're saving this announcement for E3. Sony are good at keeping mum until right before any announcements - even if we all know what's coming.
