They have to remove those dreadful virtual controls from the screen first. That's the worst part imo. Mobile devices have these beautiful screens that are either cluttered with control schemes or half-obscured by your fingers when in use.

Unless it auto-disables the virtual UI when a controller is plugged in, its still just glorified, half-assed gaming.

Except given the overwhelming popularity of dudebro software, its a reasonable question to ask. I buy every quirky JRPG or Japanese game that I can get my hands on, but I understand that my preference is not the consumer norm. I haven't read this yet (its not loading for some reason), but I wouldn't be surprised if this is why the game went digital. Its simply safer, and more profitable, for getting niche games out.

Both GeoW: J and GoW: A were unnecessary prequels. Products that neither consumers nor the marketplace asked for. I'm glad that sales are middling. Each of these franchises should have been brought into next-gen with the development dollars wasted on these projects.

10K. I'm not a Wii U hater either, just a realist. No sure why you're celebrating that. Next week it'll be back around 5K.

Hate to burst your bubble, but 125% brought their weekly total to just under 10K - you can check Neogaf for the exact amount. They cut 150 pounds off the price and had a major software release and that's all they got.

Vita went from 10K to 60-80K in one week. That's a sign of momentum. This is just another breath on life-support.

Also note that Nintendo scheduled a meeting with UK STORES as a RESULT of the DISAPPOINTING results from the price-cut. Ho...

As long as they don't make it an FPS or TPS, there is hope for the series. At least it will be pretty, and they would have to try real hard to F up the source material.

It's cheaper in Canada for sure, as PSN doesn't tax you on digital purchases. Plus there's the sheer joy of not having to wait in line at some crap hole of a Gamestop on release day.

How will Sony not make any money? They've been making money off the hardware since day one and the machine is made of off the shelf parts, which are from 2011. Miniaturization and mobile progress ensure that the cost of materials will CONTINUE to decline. So Sony's profit on every Vita will continue to increase.

Regarding games, they're launching 2-4 with each weekly update and projecting over 100 for the year - including AAA releases. Patcher has consistently pr...

Three paragraphs of myopic, self-indulgent whining is what qualifies as an "article" these days? My God, standards have never been so low. I don't care which of the Big Three its about, but this sort of low-grade crap shouldn't even get voted out of pending.

The average N4G troll posts better, more substantial rants than this. 3/10.

The funniest part is that this article has an approval.

4727d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

There's usually an embargo except for those that are in magazines and/ or extremely glowing. I expect there will be a bit of franchise fatigue, so some good, but some middling reviews (sort of like God of War: Ascension). Embargo ends Mondayish, depending upon timezones, so some reveiws should be out soon.

A 7870, the PS3's approximate GPU (even the mobility version) is hardly mid-low end. Those things still retail for hundreds and are among the top performing single card soultions on the market NOW. It may not be in the same league as Nvidia's $1000 GPU, but really, what is? And who the heck wants to spend that much money on a GPU? I custom ordered a Sager, and even though I use it heavily, I still have second thoughts about the price I paid.

Cost to performance ratio...

I know. And the PS3 (and 360) was supply constrained at launch. The Nintendo hardcore are clutching at straws. No one is arguing that the Wii U didn't have a nice Christmas and sell out to the Ninty fans. It just hasn't sold to anyone else.

Neither the PS3 nor the 360 did 57-64K sales/ month IN ANY OF THEIR FIRST FOUR MONTHS ON THE NORTH AMERICAN MARKET. That is what everyone with sense knows.

The demand for the Wii U has dropped right off a cliff. ...

And it sold almost nothing since the hardcore Nintendo fans made their purchase. Why is everyone overlooking that? Oh wait, they're not. It won't even crawl to their revised prediction at this rate. Nintendo will miss their targets AGAIN.

Add digital sales to that > 150k

4734d ago 15 agree1 disagreeView comment

Just as important is that Soul Sacrifice sold over 150K (about 144k, then add digital sales). I think that's the best performing new IP to come out of SCEJ. Awesome news.

Best news of the year. Easily one of my favourite series, up there with Wild Arms.

As a long time God of War fan, I'm more concerned with the aimlessness of this title. I just don't understand the point of yet another prequel. Perhaps there's something that I'm missing, and I'm sure I'll find out what that is when I'm playing the game. However, this title would have been much better arranged and received if it paved the road for the NEXT iteration and direction of the franchise. Kratos has killed every God and cosmic entity in the Greek Pantheon ...

Sorry, but I disagree. We are in the Golden Age of gaming. There has never been such a synergy of technology, ideas, output and choice and I see consumers do nothing but complain, complain, complain. We have PCs, 3 console makers vying for our dollars, handhelds, mobility platforms, every shade machine and of game from AAA to indie to MMORPGs and yet we can't seem to find satisfaction with anything out there.

I think its more a symptom of our Facebook, Twitter, self-obse...

"Japan is the only place where it has a chance of being relevant, the rest of the world are happy with their smartphones/tablets and 3DSs."

EU and NA are the 3DS' worst performing markets, according to Nintendo's own expectations and results, so the last part of your statement is incorrect. I'll agree with you on price though, Vita needs to be $200 or under WITH storage bundled or built in to really stand any chance at being competitive on a world-wide b...
