What a clusterfuck. This is awesome.
Green, you need to deal with the fact that THE LEAKED SPECS (1.2 TF, SLOWER RAM) ARE TRUE OR YOU WILL HAVE A MELTDOWN WHEN THE TEARDOWNS START. If the specs were better or on par, MS would have said so. Instead we got 5 trillion transistors! And photon accuracy with Kinect! Rocket science stuff!
Is this the new straw man now? That because they didn't announce the specs that those specs are somehow fantastically, secretly better than the PS4? Oh, shush, don't tell any...
You forgot about the crap hardware. So gimped they didn't want to talk about the specs. Bu-bu-but photons in DAH KINETXZ!!! What the Hell were they on about with that? I've never heard such drivel attempt to be taken so seriously.
I hope the media smells blood and goes into a feeding frenzy. Third console curse strikes again!
Honestly, what game journos would get excited for like 45 minutes of Kinect integration and a bunch of cable-box stuff? Between this, crappier specs, the "used game fee" and their recent "we purposely didn't target high end graphics" admission of defeat (surprised no one made a story of it yet, here you go: http://www.neogaf.com/forum... MS better hope they can throw enough adver...
Those specs are incorrect. MS never gave a spec sheet or listed GPU speed/ CUs or anything. Not a peep about using GRRD5 either, which they would certainly have said.
The more important questions would be how many are core and how many are Kinect shovelware.
The GPU is also better 12 CU (Xbox One) compared to 18 CU. The gap between the two will be like 30% in favour of the PS4. It will be embarrassing once Sony's 1st party studios get to work on the hardware too.
Edit: Nate, that's EXACTLY what it means. Better GPU, better RAM, same CPU. PS4 comes out on top in 2/3. People holding out for some mythic spec upgrade need to swallow that reality pill and fast. Xbox One games will look good, but NOT as good as PS4 titles (on ...
They were vague because the specs aren't as good as the PS4. Obviously. I've been saying that they would do this (use adjectives instead of actual data) for months now, and I was right.
Yeah, notice NO MENTION of the CPU/ GPU or even the (slow) speed of the RAM. And good God that box is ugly. They would have been shouting from the rooftops if the hardware was better.
What a horrid list. Includes 99 Knights, but skips Lost Odyssey? Arguably one of the BEST classic RPGs last gen? Fail.
It actually looks like some sort of GPS based massively-multiplayer hunt AND rescue game. With variable objectives, not just farming shit. You can find Yahoo Maps screenshots and in game screenshots at the website. This could be really cool.
Trailer has English subs now too, which is always a good sign toward localization.
So $399 US/ CAD for the a "basic" model, and $499 for the "deluxe" or whatever. Called that months ago when lunatics on here were quoting $600.
What's more interesting is that MS supposedly dropped the subsidized model AND they're sharing a launch window. So both horses get out of the gate at the same time, for roughly the same price. Now we can see where consumer interest ends up. Should be an awesome holiday. I remember N4G back in the 360 vs. P...
Exactly. I don't think people realize what sort of TDP you'd need to get that sort of power. The power brick would be massive and unless it had some diabolical new thermal solution that no one has ever heard of, cramming next-gen tech into a "360" sized box or anything smaller than a tower would result in an inferno.
I bet that MS won't even talk about specs, they'll just use a lot of adjectives - "powerful hardware", "cutting-edge de...
@ Pop
What Adam Orth was saying wasn't necessarily true, as it was debunked - or changed due to perceived consumer backlash.
Furthermore, Adam Orth's comments threatened the relationship between MS and its customers. This gentleman's words threaten the relationship between EA and Nintendo customers. You know, the dozen that bought ME or NFS.
I think what's more worth considering is how/ why this man is firing out so many vit...
The Devil is in the details. He never said what year he was referencing. Wii U is some awesomsauce circa 2006 - complete with the overclocked Wii CPU cores. Nintendo did this to themselves. No pity for them from me.
Conversely, can you prove that EA ARE bitter? What sort of conclusive evidence do you have of that? The only "fact" that we know, is that EA are going through a restructuring and can't commit further resources to a platform that has horrible 3rd party software tie ratios. That potential Origin deal was a rumor through and through and was never confirmed by either of the parties supposedly involved.
Edit: You're reaching, you really are. That doesn't sou...
Everything he has said is true, but he certainly wasn't pulling any punches. A little decorum would be nice on Twitter, where people seem to lose all sense of class. Still, I don't know why hardcore Nintendo fans can't just mentally snip out the middle-man and get angry at Nintendo for making such poor hardware as opposed to the - loudmouthed - devs and publishers who simply can't be bothered to work on it. Whose fault is it, really?
Honestly, if Nintendo had to moneyhat exclusivity (timed, I'm sure), this would have done better on the Wii U. Screenshots look like absolute garbage. You can tell that they sacrificed quality for performance and in order to get some of those larger environments fit in. And these screens are from "official" sources. Capcom already delayed the game once due to "quality issues", but it seems that they didn't do much with that time.
Yes, because E3 will erase (sarcasm following):
- Weaker hardware than its direct competitor.
- Excessive Kinect functionality (pressing a button is just as fast, if not faster than speaking).
- Use game blocking.
- Typical 3rd party output, ONLY with the ugly ports this time. Let's see how the shoe feels on the other foot.
- Pay to play online.
Marketing dollars may gloss over some of that, but it will be amusing too see h...
