Yield issues all but said out loud.
For enthusiast level performance obviously. Why would you even ask that?
Catastrophic if true. I don't see how MS would allow this, unless its just for Europe. Even then, they'd be consigning themselves to a 2nd or 3rd place position for this entire gen.
Price has never been the issue with AMD. Their driver-support - or lack therof - is. I waited 6 months for my last AMD driver CF 7990, before just swapping for Nvidia cards. Doesn't matter how cheap your product is if it doesn't have any software support.
Perhaps a greater marketshare and console foothold will smarten them up a bit. I'm not a brand loyalist - consoles, PC parts or otherwise - so if they could straighten themselves out, I'd build my next rig w...
It will happen after the $100 price differential loses them critical market share in the US. This is just a setup for that SKU early next year, anyone can see that.
"At Xbox, we believe in consumer choice, that's why..."
I don't think so either, as they currently offer different sorts of games. You'll find tonnes of JRPGs and exotic titles on the Vita, for example and I think that will continue while the PS4 is used for AAA big-screen gaming.
What I would like to see if Vita > PS4 streaming. If it can go one way, why not the other? Skip an HDMI add-in entirely and upscale those games in glorious 1080p.
Wow, READING IS HARD FOR SOME OF YOU FOLK. Way to quote one sentence and leave out the rest of the paragraph Zach.
"Anyone can access digital library via your Xbox One and use their Gamertag to play it. The license is tied to the hardware rather than the original purchaser alone. That said, you can also play and share games on other Xbox One consoles, and any purchases made on a friend's Xbox will be available on your primary console as well. Similar to DVR functiona...
Its like the PlayStation ecosystem now, only behind a paywall.
You need Gold to share games downloaded onto the actual X1 unit. That's pretty negative. Far as I know multiple PS profiles can play whatever games are in the HDD or blu-ray drive.
Larry Hryb looks like a drag-queen without her wig in that picture. Maybe its the image compression on something.
Anyway. This is interesting. NPD this year will cause rioting on N4G.
Not when they wait almost 2 years to release PSO2, which will be graphically and structurally irrelevant if/ when it ever comes West. PC gamers will have ESO, EQN, Bless, Arche Age and more to play with - all of which take a sizable dump on the charming, but antiquated (at that point) PSO2.
Funny how you support Pacther's soapbox when his views are a mirror of everything that I've said about Nintendo's situation thus far: 3DS tracking well under the DS, software sales down across the board, yearly targets WILL be missed for BOTH systems. The first two points are facts, do yourself a favour and look them up - there are charts on Neogaf, if that's your thing. The last point is reasonable speculation considering the tracking and historical trends.

Not going to happen. The board isn't equipped for the modules. They'd have to redesign the whole machine from scratch.
Whatever the case, this holiday will be a massacre if they can't get the price down and have to compete against the advertising campaigns for PS4/ X1. With the Wii U Basic being all but cancelled, only the 32GB model is left. So no price drop I guess.
What a mess.
They MISSED THEIR TARGETS BY 2.5 MILLION POP ROCKS. Pay attention HARDER. Thanks. Its easy to be the "best selling hardware" against 7 year old machines and languishing Vita sales.
I think that instead of fighting each other, console-fans should be more concerned about the encroaching and quite real mobile threat.
I'm a PC gamer first and foremost, so I can't really say I give two sh!ts either way.
Either they aren't selling enough X1s or they need more used PS3s. I can't see any other reasons for such a strange promotion.
That's only in Japan, and sales are still behind the DS. World wide they're lagging everywhere compared to last gen. Mobile is taking its toll, whether you want to admit it or not, and with Capcom, SE and all the other major Japanese publishers bringing their old stable of IPs to mobile, that decay isn't going to stop.
Take off the rose-colored goggles please. Did you miss the investor note where Nintendo posted an operating loss? Story was just out yesterday. The...
Random thoughts:
Ouch. Bad opening for Mind O. Hopefully we still get it over here. The legs for the Vita version of DC are running strong. Wii U is almost under 10K again. Don't see what will turn that around. Hopefully it perks up to 20K or so once the "good" games hit, but it seems that only the Nintendo faithful are buying the machine, and lots of them already have one.
And seriously, why not just discontinue the X360 in Japan. With sales l...
Rorona was the weakest and least refined of that trilogy, so a remake isn't a terrible idea. I'll pick up, and I'm sure that many other fans will as well.
Sony fully announced that they would have tv and media functions - there was a whole section of their E3 presentation dedicated to that. However, Sony marketed and messaged their device as a games console FIRST AND FOREMOST. They didn't have Steven Spielberg and tv execs up on stage with their reveal extolling the virtues of hands-free channel flipping.
The Devil is in the details. Sony have been consistent with their message: this is a games console BUT it can also do ot...
