Agreed. I'm not concerned with the heat issue though.
For me, I'd like to make sure 360 and PS3 articles are being treated fairly. I'm all for monitoring flaming fanboy propaganda, but if legitimate and educated console opinion pieces are being cut because they're pro-360 then there's an issue. Even if these articles fan the flamewars, if the articles are based on research and careful observation then they should be allowed.
The differences are minor, that's not really the point though. Here we have a system capable of matching the 360 and in many ways surpassing it, why couldn't Rockstar spend the time in developing it properly? Especially when they claim to have a dedicated PS3 dev. team? A PS3 gamer's money is just as good as a 360 gamer's, so why should PS3 gamers get even *marginally* less than others?
It all comes down to the fact that Rockstar wasn't interested in inves...
It is most GTA-ey then Rockstar cared to admit.
Yeah MoH looks sweet too. I'll probably grab both.
I'm there. Treyarch makes good games, and this one doesn't look to disappoint.
You must have a lot of patience to watch movies, not just standard DVDs, or downloaded DiVX but STREAMING FLASH-PLAYER MOVIES.
Congrats, you've successfully dodged the HD era.
Sony has an interest in pushing Blu-Ray. The PS3 was basically the reason HD-DVD failed. So yes, Sony did their job.

No one should be using Full. Full mode does blacker than black and whiter than white. Game developers make games using limited, so when you switch to full you're getting blacks that they didn't intend to be in the game, therefore you'll loose detail. Test it out, and notice the 'black crush' effect (however colors will look brighter). The super-white option on the PS3 will help the whites in Limited mode anyway, so no need for Full.
Yeah, this game's been in development for a while. The outdated graphics where probably more competitive when they first started making this game (eg, just after KOTOR 2).
Either way, a spy-RPG sounds like an awesome combination. As long as reviews float in the 70's--I'm there.
PS3 all the way dawg! Exclusive content ftw.
Yeah I definitely understand the logic with the minimum distances between speakers. I must admit, trying a few surround headsets I found the AXPRO's to provide similar surround quality as other headsets. So I'm curious...
Based on your comments, I'm going to do a few more tests and see how well the spacial sounds compare to a simulated set. I imagine the amp provides some sound processing by adjusting the delays between channels (independent of the user-controlled...
You're right about simulated surround being effective. The problem is in the 'simulation'.
Audio producers for both gaming and movies set certain sounds to come from particular speakers (especially in regards to movies). The simulated 5.1 tries to guess where the audio should be coming from, most times it's right sometimes it's a bit off. A true 5.1 setup will output the right sounds to the right speakers resulting in the most accurate surround. The AXPRO&...
Man I am not a fan of GTA games. If you can't see the merit in a game like Red Dead Redemption go back to Modern Warfare or Halo--stick with what you know.
This is a day one purchase for me.
3D Dot Heroes and Lost Planet 2--not to mention Section 8's on sale! Going to be a crazy month for gaming.
Surprisingly, for being a video game researcher, Patcher is completely out of touch with the industry. I've read most of his comments over the last year, a majority of them are well known predictions or completely false.
Platinum for $500 a year? Right. He's building headlines to increase his popularity which is unintentionally fanning the fanboy flames.
Really, you bought a PS3 just for Killzone 2 and weren't impressed? Right.
I laughed at the CG-smoke and mirrors Sony pulled on us with the first Killzone trailer. However, having platinum'ed Killzone 2 I can safely say it is still one of the best-looking games ever made.
You sound like a fanboy who's bs'ing about purchasing a PS3. You've probably never even played Killzone 2. Nice try though, hold your head in shame for that one.
Gaming capital of Canada? Dyack's at it again. Is he forgetting British Columbia (EA), Edmonton (Bioware) or Montreal (Ubisoft)? Some of the best games in the last 10 years have come from these places, I would hardly count a small city in Ontario as the 'gaming capital' of Canada.
Expect his next game to be a hype-fest too.
Sorry, I tend to ignore pseudo-intellectuals. On second look, I'm not sure your post is really all that smart. The article was well written and SE's criticism well deserved.
If your obscure reference is meant to put your post in better context it didn't work, try again.
