It's about time MS got burnt simply buying companies rather than allowing young ones to grow and build talent (ala Naughty Dog, Guerilla).
At this point, the best thing Rare could do would be to port old classics. Given they can get the rights, I bet they'll make a few bucks doing it.
I agree. The review is a bit harsh too. Most other reviews commend the RPG aspects and story-line choices. It's the outdated graphics and weak AI that hurt it.
Won't be a problem as in...they got rid of the gun weight completely? Or tweaked it so it's less noticeable?
I'd prefer it gone for good. The weight adding an interesting element to Killzone 2, but ultimately sacrificed accuracy leading to random headshots and kills.

The PS3 exclusives are consistently the highest score games each year.
Funny how during the PS2/XBox days the XBox gamers are all talking up graphics. Now they apparently 'dont matter' when their system can't handle the bleeding edge of gaming technology.
The graphics and AI seem lacking. This review feels the gameplay and story is solid. I expected 7's anyway.
The reality is, if I don't pick it up day one, I'll always wonder about it 'till I buy it.
No, no and no.
BUT, it will force developers to *properly* develop games for the PS3 *cough* Rockstar *cough*
No more of these shoddy ports due to the PS3's smaller market share. PS3 will eventually become the lead for a majority of multi-platform titles and we'll get (graphically) better games across the board.
I feel guilty every time I spend a 6-hour session platting a game! I shoulda got some sun instead.
...but not the PS3? What a kick in the nuts.
Happened last week, note the article date: May 20.
Ditto on that. While I have the pre-order fully paid for, I want to make sure it's worth a day one purchase before I fully commit.
Yeah, I'm a sucker for DX. If this game tanks I'll never trust Eidos Montreal again.
It may be old, but I wasn't aware of this.
I'm hoping for a 2010 release.
Nice work. Excellent analysis. Microsoft may be the ones with all the cash, but you guys seem to understand the business better than they do.
Well, based on the majority, it must not have the best UI if even you admit you'll get disagrees.
...are the 'special' trophies?
How is this NSFW? Strange article anyway...anime pillows?
Funny stuff. Honestly though, gamer to gamer, this mascot is lame.
I hear ya. While I'm embarrassed as a gamer that companies are pulling these tasteless stunts, I'm sure the 360 fanboys are feeling worse.
They're competitors. Why would Nintendo facilitate 360 profits? A fair trade would allow Nintendo and Microsoft to share the profits of a re-release, but I can't imagine MS doing that--they're the greedy ones.
