Yeah, hopefully the FW isn't for bug fixes. New features please!
Will look good on the shelf.
Can't wait for this.
Wasn't 'Deadly Shadows' an XBOX exclusive?
Yeah I think they're arguing that the covers don't like like a traditional 8-bit game, when in reality 8-bit refers in simple terms to the amount of colors used (8-bit = 256 colors).
Using that definition these covers are definitely 8-bit.
Yeah I haven't seen this list before. Although I did notice it's messing Eidos: Deus Ex 3, confirmed at E3 2010 ( http://deusex.com/coming_so...
3D Dot is an incredible game, but I can definitely see how the PSX/XBOX generation might not 'get it'.
I agree. Super Mario Galaxy 2 looked fantastic even without HD and AA.
On Deus Ex: I'll take your word for it. I sincerely hope they understand what made Deus Ex so great and at the very least mimic it, rather than dumbing it down for a more casual audience.
No PS3 release?
There are no headshots or titties in this game. How can they expect it to sell it to the 360 crowd?
Nintendo's an incredibly creative developer, but not necessarily an an innovative one when it comes to Western audiences. Achievements and trophies haven't caught on in Japan like they have here. It's our ADD-constant-reward culture. Not to mention gaming achievements aren't really for the casual gamer--Nintendo's main demographic.
Ditto with Nintendo and online. In Japan it's probably more popular to split-screen or LAN considering how close everyone...
Cool article. Some were waay to easy though: Van Buren! Although I didn't get Race 'N' Chase or Quiver right.
Thanks for trying a different kind of article, especially from a 306 site, it's easy to get tired of the flame baiting 'round here.
Great idea for a segment. I'm concerned though that if a gamer is willing to play something for 100 hours they've probably formed a bias towards the game, otherwise if you didn't like it why would you play it for 100 hours?
Still though, I'd like to see how this turns out.
The author is not really looking at the bigger picture.
Previews are important in building hype. Without that you wouldn't have gamers rushing out day one to buy these games. The author mentions publishers as a major force deteriorating preview quality by asserting their influence over the editorial process. I agree, but is the solution really to get rid of previews? Why not create an industry where the publisher can't push journalists around?

The demo's exclusive because PS3 gamers can actually afford to buy the game outright, whereas the 360 guys need to play a demo while they save their allowance.
Maybe they're betting on the Harry Potter demographic has grown up and might want a more shooter-based game.
I welcome the change. This way I actually might give a damn about this game since my g/f is particularly fond of Harry Potter.
I don't see BF:BC2 as being a direct competitor to MW2 anyway. It's a team-based objective FPS, where as most hardcore MW2'ers are all about the quick team deathmatches and kill:death ratios. The BF:BC2 crowd is a different beast therefore it's sales would probably grow the FPS market more than it would take market share away from MW2.
I liked Prey, especially considering it was first announced in 1995--SNES days.
I did read it, and the fanboy comment wasn't for you per se, more of a generalized statement to recent commentary regarding Black Ops and Treyarch.
The only promising criticism in your article was when you talked about "over-stimulating" the market with bad games. Activision is notorious for this (re: Guitar Hero), and even during the IW years Activision made it clear they were interested in a CoD every year. So you have an interesting point there, but that has ...
According to VGChartz:
Halo 3: 11m
Uncharted 1 & 2: 7m
GoW III: 2.5m
Resistance 1 & 2: 5.6m
Killzone 2: 2.3m
Total = 17m
So apparently 11m > 17m? Even if the VGChartz numbers are old, I highly doubt Halo 3 caught up to 17 million. Also, even if you include ODST we're still only at 16 million sold.
So what does this bullstat mean? Microsoft's getting nervous.
