And thank goodness 2006 Sony is no longer the same Sony in charge for the PS4.

Despite the initial difficult launch for Microsoft, things seem to be running smoother for them now (albeit small hiccups). Of course, that can only be good for the gamers on either console!

@Capsule

While I agree with your sentiments over the Xbox One, I disagree with how you feel about PS.

How can you state the "only thing Sony has gotten right" is the price? They allow for indie self-publishing, had little to no DRM restrictions in place, and showed a great deal targeted towards the gamer.

Sony have a great game lineup for launch, and I have no doubt their games will be as excellent as, if not better than this genera...

If you're still subbed to Plus you can get them quickly by going onto the SEN store from your computer. I do that as soon as they come out for Plus each month so I don't forget to do it when I hop on my PS3.

When you call someone a "Butt Hurt... Fanboy", most people will regard you as a far greater fanboy than anyone who you were commenting on.

On topic, it'll be interesting to see how the sales of these current-gen consoles go with the launch of the new gen.
I'm guessing they'll continue selling relatively well due to the inevitable price cuts and deals.

Generally people dislike scalpers because it stops people who have a genuine interest in the item buying it for a fair price at retail.

How is he an xbot if he wishes for LBP3?

While I disagree with his sentiment about Knack, a comment like that makes it sound like your trolling more than him.

I personally can't wait for a LBP3 on PS4, as long as it's not a letdown. I'm also looking forward to Media Molecule's new game, Tearaway on Vita looks great, so I have high hopes for their PS4 game.

Just an XBOX troll account created a couple of weeks ago. Nothing to see.

I can't wait to see the reviews for Ryse though, if I pick up an Xbox One in the future, and it's not overly QTE intensive, I wouldn't mind picking it up.

Oh I definitely agree with you on that.

To be honest I don't understand a lot of complaints people have with the price of game consoles when some smartphones are even more expensive. I get a whole lot more use out of a game console than my phone.

I bought my PS3 for 700 bucks here in Australia, it was definitely worth the purchase.

I'ld rather split that money between a PS4 and Xbox One, or at least buy a whole lot of games for either system.

From what devs have been saying, Sony are great when it comes to giving creative freedom. This gen we got jewels like LittleBigPlanet, thatgamecompany's creations (specifically Flower and Journey), Heavy Rain...

Many publishers wouldn't allow those sorts of games to be created as they aren't proved sellers.

I highly doubt the status of this game as the first on PS+'s roster will change. Mostly because it is a stripped down version (which is to be expected).

I'm happy with that offer, just hoping enough variety will be offered so as to get a good gameplay experience without being pennypinched.

I know RROD was a big issue, but give credit where credit is due. Microsoft did very well this generation, and despite said faults, most of the sales were from people who legitimately enjoyed the experience offered by the 360.

It's good for all parties when one manufacturer succeeds - without competition I doubt the next-gen consoles would be as good as they seem to be right now.

@edterry

Ahh, that makes sense.. I did hear how it was meant to be Kinect focused, but never really connected the dots there.

That being said, I'm happy they changed it - if there's one thing I'ld find less appealing than constant QTE would be flailing my arms around D:

@ Joe90

QTEs in God of War were mostly finishing off bosses or harder enemies. It seemed nowehere near as prevalent as in the Ryse demo. I am a bi...

I'll admit when I first saw the game, the beach landing, I was highly impressed with how it looked. Then came the actual combat, and I was disappointed.

It seems that unless the E3 demo wasn't representative of the full game, it will be a mostly linear QTE, albeit a pretty one.

I'm hoping the gameplay turns out better than what it looks, because although I'm not getting an XB1 at launch, I plan to get it down the track, and I wouldn't mind...

I personally don't believe exchanging for store credit would be viable for any company to a great extent.

It would lead to the trophy farming of "easy" trophy games in order for the user to gain store credit.

What I do think would be viable is offering small token items such as avatars, backgrounds, even DLC discounts for the same game (or publisher/developer specific games).

Of course it's not as attractive as store-credit...

The Last of Us... has no content?

Alright.

4718d ago 34 agree6 disagreeView comment

There have been plenty of times when the trailer for a game has looked awesome, but then the game itself has been lacking.

I will only judge the game when it comes out, and I play it, not get caught up in the hype-train.

And no, The Last of Us is not super-revolutionary. But I have not felt such a connection to the characters in the game ever before. The level of storytelling and characterisation, the way you feel for Joel and Ellie, to me is unsurpassed. <...

I disagree because I find it nearly impossible for Sony to offer what people want.

The current "rental" template is fine, and no one really brought it up as a huge issue until this new console-war.

If you were able to keep any game you got while on PS+, I could easily just subscribe for one month, download all the current instant game collection, and then halt my subscription.

For the price of my lunch, I could have numerous games o...

While I do think it will be a tight competition between GTA V and The Last of Us, is it really fair to be calling that now?

GTA V looks great from what we've seen, and just having the name "GTA" will imediately net it a lot of recognition. However, why anyone should say GTA V is better than The Last of Us, when the former hasn't even released yet is beyond me.

On one hand we've got an amazing game, one of the best I've personally eve...

The maps certainly helped, but I just loved the simplicity of COD4.

Like I remember when the old-school map packs came out for MW2, with Crash (iirc) and the like. They just didn't feel the same in the later games. I suppose that had to do with the new guns, perks, and killstreaks, but the latter in the series never held the same charm for me.
