I saw these gifs quite a while ago, and the second one still remains, in my eyes, as one of, if not the most impressive for the next generation so far.
Keep in mind those are individual voxels, they're not particles.
Go ahead, cancel your preorder.
I'm sure you'ld make someone's Christmas out there if you did. I have quite a few friends who missed out on the launch deadline and would love a console before Christmas.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense would know that launch titles are in no way indicative of what is to come in a generation.
(And on that point, this is one of the best launches for either console ever. I personally don't se...
I still think as a whole this build looks more impressive. Could be the lighting?
I understand it's likely carefully picked segments of the game which look the best - but give credit where credit is due.
I also think being 900p (versus 1080p) definitely helped the game reach the standard of graphics we're seeing.
There's a good chance I won't be buying an Xbox for a while (maybe not this gen unless Microsoft radically changes...
Nope, it certainly does.
Crytek have done an amazing job, graphically. I for one am not buying an Xbox One, but Ryse looks to me as one of the most graphically impressive games at launch of either console.
The environment's aren't anything special, but the character models are all very lifelike. I think what really helps the game is the facial animation - really brings it to life.
If we're getting results like these this early in ...
Nope. I have to agree with you. For the foreseeable future I will only be owning a PS4 next-gen, but I love looking at games from both sides.
Quantum Break and the new Ryse trailer both seem to showcase exceptional graphics. Quantum Break especially is one of the games I wish I had an Xbox for, Ryse less so (despite the amazing graphics, the gameplay is lacklustre in my eyes).
This is going to be a great generation.

That comment made it clear you have no idea what you're talking about.
... Possibly because they enjoyed the game, and would love to play it in a superior ported form?
Or because a lot of people who only played on 360 this gen, but are swapping to PS4 for next gen want to play it?
I fall in the first category, I'ld repurchase The Last of Us in a heartbeat.
Oh the irony in that comment.
The Metro look has grown on me since I've started using Windows 8.
Sure, it doesn't work overly well on my desktop, but it's not as horrible as some make it out to be.
I really like the UI for the Xbox, it looks sleek, and attractive. In comparison the PS4 UI seems rather dull, which is a shame, as it's the only console I'm buying next month (that being said, we haven't had a direct-feed demonstration yet).
When it co...
Give Sony's engineers more credit than that. I'm sure in the design of their box they took the heat output into consideration.
You have to remember that these game consoles draw a lot less power than high end gaming PC's, and are specifically designed so as to disperse any heat generated in the most efficient manner possible.
We won't know for sure about the failure rate of the PS4 until launch, but I'm willing to bet it will be relatively...

I don't know if you're delusional, or just trolling, but in order to post as an insider on Neogaf you must prove your actual position to one of the moderators.
He has been right much more than wrong, and has been doing this since before the 360 launch.
Shut your ears and try to block it out if you will, read Misterx's blog if it makes you feel better about your choice, but don't expect any secret sauce in your ...
I have to agree there.
Trevor was great, he fit brilliantly into GTA V, his performance was amazing. Steven Ogg did a fantastic job of acting his part, and he should gain a lot of recognition for it.
Although Trevor does have his conflicts, however, I do feel as if Joel was a much more... thought out character. All of his actions contributed to building who he was, showing us the effect of the outbreak on him. This all cumulated in his final decision at the ...
I believe that they should have given early "closed beta" access to those who bought the special editions of the game, launching at the same time as the game itself.
This would have decreased the amount of players on the servers, and by calling it a beta, there's always a sort of excuse of sorts to fall back on. The "open beta" could then have been the 1st October launch, and then GTA Online could have fully launched a couple/few weeks later.
A score of 2.5 should basically be reserved for games which are near unplayable. A 2.5 should be a game without a story (not just one with dodgy writing), lacklustre gameplay, and a lack of vision (in my opinion, of course).
A score like this is just a cry for hits.
I have not actually read the review, because I detest this practice.
My God.
No, it is not a problem with "SONY" fanboys. Fanboys in general are just as bad as each either.
Seriously, how could you possibly come to the conclusion that one group of people, taken from the same random population as another group, could possibly come out as so much worse?
Sure, the fanboyism is bad. The only reason why things like this happen, is due to the sheer increase in number of Sony fans stemming from Microsoft m...
Your last 3 comments have been directly attacking the game.
Why, may I ask?
Embargo officially lifts in a couple of hours.
Wait, I'm genuinely asking, how does this work?
Once an achievment registers, will it just save the prior 5 minutes of footage? I know the article says "in addition to the 5 minutes..." but I don't see how that works.
Did the video interview do anything to explain this? I unfortunately don't have time to watch it.
If it simply saves the prior 5 minutes of footage, then it seems like a neat addition, but rather redundant...
You can still replay missions by just hitting R2 (on PS3) repeatedly after clicking "like" right after the mission. It's the screen where you're meant to click "continue".
I suppose it'll get patched out in the next patch.
To be honest, I thought it would be an expected result.
It's the largest, most heavily pushed exclusive for the console which is currently much more popular. Not to mention it's a showpiece for what the system is capable of.
It's a no brainer that people would be excited for it.
