Did you happen to watch the "Grounded" documentary for The Last of Us?

Evan Wells commented one of the earliest ideas they had before conceiving The Last of Us was to go back to Jax & Daxter, because they think there "are some interesting stories still to be told". But he said they thought they couldn't do justice to the franchise, and would be shifting it too far in another direction.

Just found that little segment interesting.

I know Killzone SF is 1080p/30fps. A tiny bit dissapointment, but considering the visuals Guerilla are aiming for, you can see why it's sitting where it is.

By the end of this generation I hope most games will be able to push great visuals at 1080/60fps.

After the Playstation Warrior Tier was filled it was confirmed the game would be made for PS4 along with PC, I think the stretch goal was an early indication of what it would take before the Playstation Warrior Tier was added, and a huge amount of support was gained from it.

In my experience, I felt like I had more choice playing The Last of Us compared to Uncharted. While the levels are by no means fully open, they do give a little more scope than simply one set path.

You also have a lot more choice than Uncharted due to the ability to use supplements to improve different traits, upgrade weapons and decide to craft different items.

QTEs are not very common unless having to fend of a melee attack, but that hardly counts.

As long as you have the PS Eye I believe the Move will still work, from what has being announced.

Some sour people coming in here and disagreeing.

I'm only 60%ish through The Last of Us right now, and it is really one of the most impacting games I have played. The characterisation and story is done excellently, and even to the small level on how the characters interact is amazing.

I know some of my friends who don't even have PS3s are watching complete playthroughs on youtube, not for the commentary but for the story, that is a testament to how we...

Usually when I see something of that almost CGI-quality that The Dark Sorcerer appeared to be, I would discount it as not being possible.

What leads me not to the same conclusion is how Quantic Dream have proven themselves to be able to match, or surpass their tech demos with their games.

The audition tech demo was matched by Heavy Rain, and I believe that Beyond: Two Souls is coming close to their Kara tech demo.

For this reason, I expect we...

I pledged 50 bucks for PS Warrior last night, although the SOCOM era was before I started gaming. I'm getting tired of all the bro-shooters, really want to try my hand and get good at more tactical, team reliant games.

@Gamingisfornerds

That makes for two misleading usernames then ;)

I would definitely not say the foliage is current-gen. Although, the foliage is not what I play closest attention to in any game, it never caught my eye as something which looks terrible. Upon rewatching the E3 gameplay just then, I could not see how it could be deemed current-gen.

I'll agree with you in that the NPC animation is nothing to oogle over, and the character mod...

Hang on, what?

I respect you can have an opinion on the visuals, but from everything we've seen so far, I personally think it is one of, if not the best looking launch title on either console.

Perhaps the only let down is the 25-30fps the game is currently achieving (keeping in mind it is still months from release), but from a purely graphical standpoint, the game is amazing.

Generally the Playstation Blog (for your specific region) will post what's coming the month before (well, that's how I find out anyway). From time to time there'll be a leak of games coming in future months before they're announced.

I'm thinking there'll be more smaller versions of AAA games at launch, and then as the library increases in size we'll go back to getting full games. I do think Sony will give us some full indie games though.

Switching between channels with your voice.
The feature that makes a more expensive underpowered box, just that much more with it.

Both launch lineups look good, the XBOX One perhaps has the upper hand in some respects. That being said, I have no doubt Sony has many more exclusives planned for the launch window, with a steady stream to follow throughout the next seven or so years.

If this gen was anything to go by, it should be great.

@Nick

So, would you rather Sony let you keep any games you download on PS Plus?

Therefore I could go to the PS Store and buy a one month PS Plus subscription. With that subscription, I would gain immediate access to no less than 13 full titles over both PS3 and PS Vita. You then propose I keep those games with no need to resubscribe to the service. I could then repeat the same every few months, spending little and gaining entire libraries of games.

Exactly the same for me. To be honest, the One doesn't seem to offer me much more than I can get with the PS4 (and that I want).

I just want to see if Microsoft can continue delivering a good selection of exclusive games, or if it will be a repeat of this (last) generation where they had an initial great period, before third party exclusives went multiplat and the first party ones dried up.

They showed a pretty good launch lineup of games, well, a lineup of games to be delivered on launch (haven't been following the release dates too closely).

Ryse, Project Spark, Titanfall all were shown and look great. Project Spark and Quantum break (shown at console announcement) have most of my attention though. Ryse visually looks great, but gameplay wise seems to be filled with QTE, which could be all means turn out well, but I'm not sold on it.

You always seem to mention Sony shills and fanboys in your comments. Yet they don't seem all too different to how you center your comments, comments such as "The ONE smokes the PS4".

How so, may I ask?

And while $100 is not going to break anybody, when given a choice between a more powerful console, backed by a company that seems to care a lot more about the gamer, I know which I'ld rather spend my money on.

"They show in the end that they care about customers."

They really don't. Of course they'll wrap up their new announcement in hugs and care, it makes them look good.

We know however what they wanted to do. We saw their arrogant comments. They do anything but care.

Like any company, they truly care about money. And it is obvious the preorder numbers and consumer backlash talked, and did a whole lot of convincing.

"Kinect 2 is fascinating*"

I do ask, how so? The kinect is an interesting piece of kit, not something I'ld use much of, but I can see its appeal. But it doesn't some all too much more fascinating than the original Kinect?

And I do question the influx of recent accounts which seem to actively support the XBOX One.
