I know, it's ridiculous that I feel buried under games to play, especially when so many of them are free. Sony's killing us :(
Actually, if one is 50% more powerful, the other is 33% weaker ;)
All I know is I can't wait to get my hands on my PS4 come November!
Anyone denying the power difference is clearly delusional. Even Microsoft don't deny there is a hardware disparity between the two consoles.
I can afford a gaming PC, I just enjoy playing on my consoles more.
People like different things.
@Domination
No, a month or so ago they were just showing the 35% *build*. That's not to say that's where they were at in that point in time.
And if I'm not mistaken, we did get direct feed last week? And it looks great. Not to mention we're getting direct night feed tomorrow.
Evolution are known for having the graphical quality of their games suddenly improve close to launch, it's just their process. We're seeing it ha...
I don't even...
I really, really hope for your sake that you're just trolling.
No one (in their right, unbiased minds) calls the consoles "so powerful". No. Consoles will never be able to stand up to the mighty PC race.
But in many respects they are better than what we were expecting.
And it's bloody launch hardware. And BF4 is a multiplat release. Dice have to split their efforts between current-gen/next-gen/PC. Of course it won't be thoroughly optimised.
You'll only see the power of the consoles ...
I'ld hazard a guess and say it'll be a bit after the PS4 launch. I don't think Sony would release the VitaTV and the PS4 close together, to avoid confusion.
Although, it would seem like a mistake to miss out on the holiday season, so who knows. For now we can only hope it comes soon, and at that $100 price.
@pap
There's a difference. This is optional, and the whole "TV" thing wasn't emphasised so much as the play Vita games on your TV/stream PS4 to separate TV part. Clear difference.
Don't ask why you have disagrees - you'll get disagrees for anything, even if you state a clear-cut fact.
People probably disagreed because they are not happy Microsoft may announce 8 new games at TGS. Or they don't believe it, or something.
I don't know, to be honest, it'ld seem a little strange for Microsoft to really try to appeal to the Japanese audience considering how they usually fare. Mind you, that could be all the more reason to ...
Looks like the perfect companion app for Vita + PS4.
Use Vita memory card to play Vita games on TV, stream PS4 games to second TV using device. Then there's always the Vita to Remote Play if you don't have a spare TV hanging around.
Would Dualshock 4 be compatible with Vita games, didn't quite get that from the conference. It seems like it would make sense, to make use of the touchpad?
@fattyuk
No, that will most likely be a VGA thing. Their past 2 games (Uncharted 3/The Last of Us) were revealed at VGAs. So I assume Uncharted 4 for PS4 will be revealed then aswell.
By all means, that could however be a wrong prediction.
@Cable
Lots of people don't really like Cage's games.
I for one do, but I can see why they don't appeal to everyone.
I have a feeling Sony's PS4 headset will be more oculus-like than their HMZ-T series VR headsets.
I really hope Sony have learnt their lesson from expensive products with the PS3, and seen the support from the PS4s price, and will be able to price their new headset competitively.
They know about the Oculus, and as it will be a competitor (even indirectly), they will surely price it accordingly.
We won't know for sure until they unve...
Haha. It's pretty clear which one is more powerful. Forget all the rumours of hidden GPUs, or whatever is spreading right now for the Xbox, those are wrong.
Look at the numbers. The numbers don't lie.
I think the main differentiating factor this gen was how difficult it was to code for the PS3. Which of course lead to those shoddy multiplat titles, but as you said, first-party studios could spend the time to learn the platofmr.
While I agree it's all about the games, I think with this upcoming gen, both consoles will be easy to code for due to their x86 architecutre. So for once, we have both consoles who are as easy to code for as the other, but one with undoubtedly s...
Yes, leaked by some "sources", and reconfirmed by some insiders on Neogaf.
It was originally rumoured to be announced at TGS, but recently the whispers have said it won't be because Sony doesn't want to confuse people.
So either expect an announcement at TGS, or within the next few months (after PS4 launches).
Rumoured to be released Spring 2014, but subject to change, of course.
@Ultimate
From what we've heard, Sony have been working on their PS4 VR headset since before Oculus Rift was first announced.
Not to mention Sony is a hardware manufacturing giant, I don't really see why they'ld just roll over and team up, when they're obviously going for the dominant market share.
I would be pleased if they made the system compatible with OR, or perhaps got a license for their software/tools so they could be ...
@Thrust.
Where is the official confirmation of that? Unless it was announced in the last day or so, there hasn't been an official confirmation. I know the leaked documents said 1.6ghz (although they did for the One too), and the Killzone Shadow Fall tech demo had 1.6ghz earlier this year, but they aren't representative of the final product.
So I ask, if you tell other people to "stop making stuff up", where is your evidence?
I don't really think they're too arrogance. There's a difference between arrogance and just having a business plan.
For example, why would you *ever* give out a totally free, bundled game, and incur expense which will lower your profit margin, if your confident you won't need it to sell out anyway? That's the position Sony is in - they believe they'll be able to completely sell out into next year.
In which case, it makes sense why they...
From reading your comment history - you really shouldn't be calling anyone a "narrow minded" kid.
But on that subject, what is narrow-minded about his comment? Sure it reeks of fanboyism, as do most comments on this site, but what he said is true. The PS4 is, and will, outsell the Xbox One worldwide.
The real challenge for Sony is if they can regain marketshare in the UK and the US.
