I don't think power is as simple as how much RAM a system has. So in that case, your simple math doesn't really go to show how powerful each system is in comparison to each other.
I will eat my hat if either system benefits substantially from any sort of "cloud power". In the future, maybe. This gen, I cannot see how where worldwide internet is like it is, and it would require a lot of ingenuity on the game-dev side to be able to make their games work offlin...
Actually I'm sure they'ld get quite a few customers if they released a second edition controller like that.. But I imagine there would be a huge cost involved in designing, tooling, producing and stocking two sets of controllers in comparison to one.
I can't wait to get my hands on the new controller, I love the look of it so can't wait to see how it feels (going by the current feedback, it should be great).
Well, if Xbox fans had pre-ordered 3 million, and Playstation buyers ordered 1 million... Then wouldn't the Xbox One show as being in a higher place than the PS4 is?
Unless I'm mistaken with how the system works, having a number of bundles and two standalone consoles in the top ten best sellers, versus one standalone console clearly shows a pre-order market lead.
"Cloud computing"
Are you saying you fell for those Microsoft buzzwords, which will mean basically nothing this generation, but instead convince people like you to buy their console?
I'm sure if "cloud computing" was a huge success Sony would be able to implement it aswell. We have seen Sony have been listening to the developers' ideas, and thus far, it is not likely they have been screaming the need for cloud computing.
If...
What does using different engines have to do with comparing the looks of games? o.O
Unless I misunderstand you, should I not be comparing say 'The Last of Us' and "Call of Duty: Ghosts" because they use different engines?
But what makes you think Sony wouldn't "keep announcing more and more exclusives" aswell?
If history is any sort of indication to the present, I have no doubt Sony will continue keeping it's strong exclusive presence up. It's what they did this gen, and I can imagine it's what they'll do the next.
And I don't believe the general public is as susceptible to exclusives as they are gimmicky features. I do think Xbox One will sel...
@ape007
As a member of the PSN community, I thoroughly disagree with you. I find Killzone to be a much funner game, personally. The only reason why I used to play COD was due to the amount of my friends which played it, while none of them played Killzone.
"We all know you have know idea of what you are talking about."
You were shown next to no games at the console unveiling.
You were shown a system targetted towards the general entertainment and television market as a way of announcing a console.
As a gamer, you were shown almost no feasible reason to make you in any way, shape, or form, want to buy the console, in my opinion anyway.
Great - they set aside $1 billion...
It seems like a good idea on paper, but I don't see how it will truly work given the current state of the market.
Not every consumer will have a constantly working internet connection, or the bandwidth to support it. Of course, I don't know exactly how it would work, but until they can show the actual principle in action, and explain how it would work for those without an internet connection, it is simply too hard to believe it will be as good as it sounds.

"if microsoft end up blowing everybody brains out"
That's a big if. A lot of people thought that they were going to do that today, but it ended up in much dissapointment.
I have no doubt their E3 will be better than this showing, it can't possibly be worse. So I'm keen to see what both Microsoft and Sony have in store early June!
Because the look of the console is the most important thing, right?
"switch to the console with a crap online service and a terrible controller"
I read your whole comment, but that little aside generally ruined the rest of it.
How can you judge the online service, or the controller, when presumably you haven't used either for the PS4? I do get your possibly referring to the mentality of the "CoD crowd" but still.
I was very happy with PSN this gen, my updates were slow however PS+ mad...
Oh God, it's shaped like a controller? No way.
The top view looks nothing like the 360, at all.The width of the extensions where you rest your hands is the same and that's it.
I can imagine if you were to overlay the Dualschok 3/Dualshock 4, they would similar aswell. I could be wrong of course.
The angle view is also silly. The dualshock 3 curves up in the exact same way towards the back of the controller. The only real, possible sim...
"dropped the ball"
It was either make available the functionality for streaming past games through Gaikai, leaving it out altogether, or including a CELL processor so that it has a decent chance of being able to be backwards compatible. The last most likely inflating the price unnecessarily.
I know which option I would choose, but to be honest, I very rarely actually feel the need for backwards compatability.
It's one of those f...
"overused Playstation"
I personally do not find that at all. Continually using "Playstation" forms a console synonymous with a particular brand that is imediately recognisable as a gaming system.
If you have a good, well known brand name, why change?
Voice actors contribute to both the story and the gameplay in my opinion. It would be completely offputting to have a character who is in no way matched by a voice actor. Thus not having a fitting voice actor would negatively affect how you perceive the story, and to some lesser extent also the gameplay (as voice actors do speak during generally play).
@4LC
I'm an Aussie, but to be honest saying "that's your own fault you choose to live in a country where the prices are absolutely insane" is a bit unfair.
You don't choose to live in a country based on gaming prices (although we do get the short end of the stick with many other markets). It is just a little ridiculous how everything here is so much more expensive (I do know it may cost extra to ship over, other takes, etc).

Yes, I do wish Sony would stop producing first party games such as The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, inFamous, etc and instead focus on timed exclusive DLC. For Call of Duty.
Because that is what gamers want. -.-
Most were running on PS4 hardware. They most likely have not finalised the PS4's asthetics, but why would you need to when it hasn't gone into production yet? It would only be a "horrible sign" if we did not see it by/at E3. And we will. I don't know why people would laugh at the DS4, Sony improved upon it based upon feedback, albeit adding a touchpad and move light.
I have to disagree with that, I'm only buying the PS4 and I wouldn't mind if it was on there. Sure, we have other games, but when does a choice ever hurt?
That being said, I wouldn't pick it up at launch, but it looks like a fun game so I would definetly eventually if it was out on PS4. Although, I expect it will come to PS4 in time, afterall EA is their publisher and it's only a matter of time before they decide they'ld rather a higher fanbase than whatev...
