WOW, really... and your calling me the idiot, oh the irony of this.

NO, let me explain to you just how wrong you are... the Publishers grants me a license to use the software, that is what they own (the software), and this license says what the software can be used for and generally grants me the right to use the software for as long as I want considering I'm not in breach of the license.

They do not however own the disk, they ...

Look if you guys that are hating on Bethesda would have done some research you would have found that they are doing this is because of how trademark laws work. If they don't protect there trademarks they could lose it. These are Bethesda lawyers (you know they guys trying to protect the companies interest) that are doing this, not Bethesda directly.

Even though it's only one word from there trademark it could cause them to lose it, so blame the law... not them.

"superior multi-format game performances"

Outside of a few select games (like fallout), I fail to see it... I would even say more are coming to the PS3 now that devs better understand the system.

Doesn't bother me at all, because I still and probably will always buy physical products... to hell with giving corporations control over what I play.

5370d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Do these people ever try to support there claims?

Looking at sale numbers would tell anyone that physical media brings in the majority of the money on consoles, it would be beyond dumb to drop that when you have no idea if digital could keep those same numbers. The PC market is vastly different than the console market, PC almost died... It was easy for a new format to take over without any issues, because not many at the time bought PC games.

It easy to say d...

Wasn't really looking to get another shooter, but I couldn't resist the urge to get it. Not really a fan of ID, as I have never really played there other games and I'm not a fan of some of the things Carmack says... but the game does look good and liked the 20 min game-play video I watched..

So I hope the purchase is worth it...

Did I not state "in my opinion", clearly that was not meant to be taken as a fact...

It has nothing do with everything being laid out, it has to do with everything just be thrown together and being bland. Back in 2006 the XMB was decent and was mainly used just to launch a game, but that before online content and consoles being used for more than gaming really took off... now the UI needs to accommodate all of that. The XMB just doesn't cut it anymore. Of course...

Lol what?

I love my ps3 but the XMB is a horrible UI, and the xbox UI is far easier to use and is nicer to look at in my opinion.. The XMB for me is an unorganized mess that is as unappealing as you can be. Now there is a lot Sony did right with the ps3 but you fanboys need to stop defending the XMB, because even Sony knows the software side of the ps3 was not that great compared to the hardware. A revamped UI and store would do wonders for the ps3.

Before I would have probably said this is nothing... but we already know a huge update to Home is happening so it seems rather dumb to invest in some big announcement for that. We also know that the video service is getting revamped.

To me it seems Sony may finally be starting to take updating the PS3 software more seriously now that the system is more secure. So taking all that into consideration I hope it's either a revamped store, or a revamped XMB... I think Sony is ...

But you just said, it doesn't give you that level of service, and I doubt it ever will. Streaming is generally lesser quality than a physical product. Take for instance a streamed movie, vs Blu-ray... you will see the difference. So it's doubtful OnLive will ever be able to stream games that run and look better than the physical product on a console or PC. So you fall into the category of using technology just because it's new technology, when you could just play on your console....

N4G, can we stop approving articles about a god awful service?
Onlive is for people who "have" to have new technology even if it isn't needed or really beneficial to them, and people to cheap to spend money on a real gaming device.

I've seen so many games claim to have "console" graphics on a phone, yet when you actually look at them you realize that there not even close to console graphics. Then when you add touch controls to the game, why bother?

Truthfully I think there both over-hyped games and don't really care for either... but if I had to choose, I think Uncharted is the better game, and yes I have both systems.

I think I would sell my 360 if that service finds it's way on to it... but the chances of this happening are slim anyway.

It's not about so called "evolution", to put it simply digital distribution or cloud gaming offers few advantages to the consumer compared to the retail model and is simply not needed. They most significant advantages a consumer will get from digital distribution is possibly a somewhat cheaper cost and instant gaming. But when compared to the disadvantages I can't comprehend why anyone would support that system.

I have to agree, gaming now is all about the money... oh how I miss they day when gaming was nerdy and you actually got good games with all the content on the disk or cartridge and you didn't have these all knowing so called "experts" saying that gaming is going mobile, or going cloud based, or some new crap they will think up next week.

Don't get me wrong, I love the advancements gaming has made over the years... but that has came with a lot of crap.

I hate the XMB and the store menu, I really don't understand how anyone could love either. I have both systems and will say that the Xbox menu and marketplace is completely easier to use and looks a lot better than the XMB. That said, I would rather use my PS3 more often, but if they keep that dang menu then I will stick with the Xbox and the PS3 will stay for exclusives.

Any new UI would be a breath of fresh air in my opinion... so bring it Sony. I love your blu-ray and ...

Actually it's as long as they keep it on there servers, which could be 3 years or longer if you buy a full pass, however after 3 years if people no longer really play it OnLive may remove it from there servers... that's stated when you buy the game.

Your renting it, not owning it...
