She should have complained more about you playing on OnLive... Lol
There is a big difference between streaming movies and streaming games... people tend to watch movies one time and then never look at it again. Gaming on the other hand, some games people play for years and become classics. This is not the kind of thing that you can do with a service like Onlive. Sooner or later, they WILL remove the game from there servers then you will no longer be able to play it. This the BIG issue with streaming, that an bandwidth...
I fail to see how ga...
God Onlive gets more stupid every time they talk about it... dedicated online needed, and touch screen controls so no thanks. Even if they make some sort of controller for it, how awkward would that be when playing. I have to set the iPad in my lap, um no thanks...
That service won't work on 3G, and it will be a while before 4G is nationwide, so it would be wifi only. Then there are the bandwidth limits that are in place, and this kind of thing will eat up bandwidth... I ...
"Digitally Download your games. The sooner retail stores are mostly out of the equation, the sooner some of these aspects of the industry might dissipate."
SCREW THAT!!!
Until ISP's start supporting rural America & small towns, and lets be honest here... a majority of America is made up of rural area & small towns, this will never happen. As digital downloading gets more popular, bandwidth limits are getting worse. Don't believe me, ...
Um did I say anything about digital, with digital you at-least still own the product (even though I still prefer retail). Your comparing apple to oranges... with Onlive you don't download the game, it is streamed to you when you want to use it from there servers, so being digital has nothing to do with it.
Now I don't know where you live, but I do know the US is made up of mostly rural area, and of this rural area they DO NOT have good enough internet to do this kind ...
I don't think this will become the new normal, and if it does... I'm done with gaming. I don't like Onlive at all, don't want it and I don't need it, unlike most people now days I'm not to lazy to go to the store.
Could you imagine if they became the new normal, and they get hacked like Sony. There servers go done, and there is no more gaming for you. At-least with my console, I can still game if something happens to the online portion.
I believe it was reported back in late April that the 3DS sold just under Nintendo's goal of 4 million worldwide, so by now it would have to be more significant than that.
Lets hope some new features are coming, I know I feel like my PS3 has been replaced by Vita at Sony. I mean seriously Vita gets Party Chat & a new interfaced announced before the HOME console... WTF Sony. Lets hope the XMB gets a much needed update, along with the browser... and party chat gets added.
BF3 looks amazing, and this is coming from someone who can't stand COD anymore and isn't the biggest supporter of EA. I don't play online much, but this game looks to bring an awesome single player military shooter to the table. So if it's a decent length game, I may pick it up, and who knows I may be online more now. :)
But it should be noted, that Bethesda is looking to bring modding to consoles... so its not totally not out of the question for the console experience to be the same as PC. Plus with Sony's push for user generated content, I could see this happening on the PS3.
I hate hearing all these dang developers saying they need to include DLC or multiplayer to expand the life of the game... when in reality all they need to do is make mods available for consoles. I know I a lot of ...
The amount of PlayStation fan-boys here at N4G amazes me... games like Uncharted, or Killzone will sell the system there is no doubt in that. But if you really think those games are going to sell the system better than Mario, Zelda, & Pokemon then your not very smart. The problem with the Vita is it (as for right now at-least) will only sell to the hardcore gamers, while Nintendo will get the hardcore games and the casual gamers like they have always done with solid franchises that many g...
Okay but it's a BS excuse to say that because it's portable... it should be the same thing as a console but portable. If you can't go a few hours in your day without games like Uncharted or Killzone then something is wrong there. Why spend hundreds of dollars on a system + games that is offering the SAME thing you already have but in portable form.
Uncharted portable will be nearly the same as Uncharted 1 & 2 just in portable form with a new story. No thanks, ...
I hope it does come to the PS3, if it does lets hope it's authentic to the PC version... I don't want some watered down version because it's on console.
That's why they make a PS3... even though I think phones have no business being in this discussion.
"I'm not really surprised since the 3DS isn't that powerful."
The 3DS "IS" pretty powerful for a handheld device, especially a Nintendo handheld. It may not be as powerful as the NGP, but it's still powerful in its own right.
Clearly the best game that shows that is Resident Evil:

I think they look about the same really, and that's without the 3D... even if the 3DS is no NGP, it's still a pretty powerful system. This is a port of an old game and it looks good, so I'm waiting to see developers actually push the system to its limits.
There are no good games out yet, lets see how many units are sold once Zelda, Mario, and Pokemon hit the system. There is no question of "will" the 3DS will sell well, but "when"...
While having things like dual analog sticks is cool and all, if they don't offer a game library that is more than console games on the go... I won't be paying for it. I love my PS3, but I don't need the same thing on a handheld. That to me was the biggest issue with the PSP, and looking at what has been announced for the NGP, it may happen all over again.
Give us games unique to the system Sony...
@Frak
You PlayStation fan-boys amuse me... really you do. Just like how the PSP was going to destroy the DS, right? Like we all don't know how that turned out.
LOL
PS: For your info, I never said that the 3DS would defeat the NGP. I said it's to soon to tell.
That's cool man, I'm just not fan of it... I think it's fine as a rental service. But I would never pay full price for a game from there because you really don't own it.
They really should give there customers an option to actually own the product there purchasing... so when you have a good enough PC you can still play your games once there taken off there servers.
