I don't see a vast majority of consumers paying any attention to it as it has no brand recognition. It's one of them items where it's only popular online.

I understand why some people are a little mad about this, but it's business... there trying to make money, the same anyone else would want to do if they were in there shoes.

As far as Dawnguard is actually pretty good, and adds a good amount of new features that are worth getting the DLC alone for if you play on PS3 (PC could just use mods). It's buggy, I won't deny that... but nothing really "game breaking".

I really don't get the interest in Ouya, it's "basically" a system that can play phone games on a TV? I thought the who point of technology was to move forward, this feels like were moving backwards. Do people really want a console that plays phone games? That look like there from the PS1/PS2 era that can be played on current systems already? With the phone games & push for F2P... it feels like were heading the wrong way here. What happen to the days when we pushed forwa...

As far as I aware, the following in not correct: "Windows 8 makes it ‘illegal’ to purchase and download software through any other storefront than Marketplace – unless – it has been licensed by Microsoft."

Metro apps would be what this is referring too. Desktops apps still work the same way that they always have and can be accessed through the desktop screen. So whoever wrote this article doesn't seem to understand the difference.

@Yi-Long:

Also backwards compatibility on the PC isn't even a sure thing anymore. With the new digital focus of PC's, games are tied to services. If Steam, Origin, or some future start up service was to fail or close, it's likely that you would lose access to your games.

Not to mention games now coming tied to internet connections on PC. What happens when they decide to shut down the servers, will they then allow us to play offline... who knows.

No,

The one thing I really dislike about PC's is that everything is kind of everywhere. I like having all my games tied to one service. You can't do that on PC, as you got Steam, Origin, GFWL, & probably more services in the future... and I like things like achievements, with Steam your lucky if the game you want supports Steamsworks and achievements.

While an open platform can be great for many things, it does divide the experience you get with t...

@Yi-Long:

Portal 2 is $5 because of Steams summer sale, it's not regularly that price... just pointing that out.

It's not something I think I would use, as it's main purpose would be to play Android games on a TV. But I wish them the best.

It's getting close to the end of this generation, and there hasn't been very many "must have" games releasing. So this is a surprise how?

I have to admit, nice to see someone from Valve saying that retail isn't going to die, and single players isn't going to die. Looks like someone understands that not every game needs to have multiplayer or be F2P.

@killcycle -

Just to name a few:

1. You don't "technically" own your games at all and you have no control, even though they try to pass it off like you do.

2. You are depended on there servers and the games staying on the servers which they have no obligation to do at all. So that full price game you just bought from them may not be there a few years from now.

3. You are tied to a internet service, which is unre...

Did you even watch the video? I'm thinking no... it's not talking about you in general but the world. Having unlimited bandwidth isn't going to do you any good if there is no bandwidth available for you to use.

This is one of the reasons why data caps are far more common now, and this is what will really hurt a digital future and a reason why I don't think digital will fully take over any time soon. Plain and simple we have become to reliant on the internet fo...

I've been thinking about switching back to PC gaming, at least some... GOG is making me want to. There starting to offer new games now & well as good classics, and if they can get some of the popular new games DRM Free. I will get them on PC. The only way I can support a digital future on PC is if it's DRM Free.

I still like my console though... I'm just slightly worried about how next gen and patches/DLC for current consoles is going to work out.

And just like Read Dead Redemption & GTA 4 it will likley look and play better on the 360. The only reason LA Noire was slightly better on PS3 was because it was programmed for the PS3 from the beginning as it was originally meant to be an exclusive. People here can be a fanboy all they want, but the pictures don't lie:

The issue here wasn't that they teased Dishonored, it was that they choose a picture that clearly could be related to Skyrim to get Skyrim fans that are hyped for DLC.

This was clearly to draw hype... to a product that not many really cared about. This has made a lot of Elder Scrolls fans mad.

Looks like Skyrim to me, the main dude looks like a lot of characters found in the game... possibly the dovahkiin in the lore. And the other dude in the shadows looks like a Thalmor agent... he seems to have pointy ears and a big collar which is what the Thalmor wizards have.

Graphics wise this is clearly CGI, not in-game so it wouldn't look like Skyrim. Probably from a trailer.

Digital putting retail to shame? Okay...

Lets not get crazy here, just because Steam is doing well and cheap small mobile games do well doesn't mean digital is killing retail. Who buys digital on a console? I know a lot of console gamers, and I don't know anyone who buys there games digitally. If you look at the sales number retail still does very well and not just in games, but movies too... Blu-ray for instance is gaining in sales.

There are a lot o...

Good for the Industry? Why should gamers care what's good for the industry? The industry has:

1. Milked DLC.
2. Released buggy game after buggy game.
3. Started Online Passes to make more money.
4. Removed content to sell as DLC on day one.
5. Left content on the disk and charged on us for it as DLC.
6. Dropped support on games that are still buggy as hell.
7. Took 6 months to fix major issues.
8. Slowly taken away o...
