I'm not sure if I will purchase the next Nintendo system, because I hated the Wii and I have way to many games to play now that I have no time for. But I am liking that I can use it as a handheld when someone wants to watch tv and still play my console games. If I do get it, that would be why.

My hope is that when the next Xbox comes out, MS will adopt this idea for there system if the Wii U does well.

When somebody wants to watch tv, or I don't wan...

I'm just saying that if your going to write an article about how great something is and tell us why we should use it... you should also provide as many reasons as to why we may not want to use it if there are some. I'm not trying to be disrespectful to you, but it not that great of a service and compared to what console or PC can offer it's one main advantage of instantly playing a game is not that great.

I think using it as a renting service or to demo games is g...

5 Reasons Not to EVER use OnLive:

1. You don't "own" any of the games you buy, you are basically renting for a period that is covered up to 3 years but at full price (for newer games).

2. You have to depend on there servers, so if they were to get hacked or if there servers crashed no more game playing at all. PSN but worse!

3. You have to be connected to the internet, which even though is contrary to popular belief is not a sta...

ATi_Elite - "and for everyone who is complaining about Broadband caps and sucky Internet speeds.....I'm sorry to say your WRONG!! PC Gaming is doing just fine using the same Internet consolers use and almost no PC gamer goes to the store as everything is digital download."

But your forgetting something, PC gaming is a lot smaller compared to console gaming. I also know PC gamers who still buy physical products through online retailers such as Amazon.

Man I'm so tired of waiting for this game... god let Nov, 11th get here soon.

I am surprised that the console version is only like 4GB. The extra two GB's on the PC must be the higher textures.

I see a future, where digital and physical media co-exist peacefully next to each other... as you will always have people who prefer physical products or digital products. I don't understand why no one thinks both can co-exist.

Lets just hope by then game companies have given up on this dumb idea of streaming games...

Yea EA even said they don't think a service like OnLive is the future and that they believe that physical media is still has a place in the market.

Personally if had the choice between console or pc vs OnLive then I would take the pc or console version any day. I really don't see OnLive being more than a service for people who can't afford a console or pc to play games. OnLive has so many disadvantages it's not a service I would ever want to use.

I agree that GS should not be able to mass market used games and that publishers/developers should be supported, but the facts still remain... they were paid for that product.

But at the same time we could say publishers are not helping themselves. So many games nowadays are only a few hours long.. costumers are going to look for a cheaper alternative compared to buying new when the publishers are not offering experiences worth $60.

Instead of online passes ...

It doesn't matter who paid the publisher (not developer) for the game. The point is they got paid for that single product. Online passes are nothing more than double dipping to get more money on a product they have already received compensation for.

For some absurd reason, some gamers believe this is okay for gaming... but let movies cut content or music or any other product in the world because of the second hand market and everyone will be complaining.

It not even all about the how the service performs:

1. You don't "technically" own your games at all and you have no control, even though they try to pass it off like you do.

2. You are depended on there servers and the games staying on the servers which they have no obligation to do at all. So that full price game you just bought from them may not be there a few years from now.

3. You are tied to a internet service, and if you...

I think using new technology for the sake of using new technology is rather dumb really. If you have a console stick with a console. The "ONLY" advantage OnLive gives you is instant gaming from you home, but compared to all the disadvantages that system has I have to ask myself what are these people thinking that use this rather bad service.

And no I'm not completely referring to the graphics when streaming. All the disadvantages make this service bad.

Well I never had Oblivion on the PS3, I had it on Xbox... and I never really had an issue with it.

But I did have Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas on the PS3 & Xbox, and they ran horribly on the PS3. Considering they used they same engine as Oblivion I wasn't sure how it ran in comparison.

I know Skyrim has a completely new engine, but I don't have faith in them when it comes to them developing for the PS3...

As much as I like my PS3, this is one game that will defiantly be purchased on my Xbox... because I know it will run good on the Xbox... the PS3 on the other hand - well past experiences speak for themselves.

@GrieverSoul:

NO!

All that is referring too that you quoted is that in order to transfer the license for the content you must be logged in to the account that originally purchased the license.

But once the license is transferred using the account that bought the license to the new Xbox, ALL ACCOUNTS can access the content because now that system has the license.

When you download something from XBL both the system and account...

I can see this both ways really...

Should these companies get paid for making these games? Absolutely!

But at the same time, what about companies that sell movies, music, tools, computers, or any other physical item in this word? Why should it be okay for gaming to cut content because of reselling and not any other company. Where do we draw the line? Granted I realize that reselling of games is a lot more mainstream thanks to companies like GameStop then many...

Why is does it seem like every time I come to N4G now I see a article about OnLive? They can't get enough costumers to keep it afloat so they have to flood the media with dumb articles?

There is no way OnLive will get any of the exclusives of the big 3 while there still in the gaming business... it's just not going to happen. They would have to be pretty stupid to let that happen.

I never thought I would say this, but OnLive fan-boys are worse than al...

True, but most likely it won't happen to keep the Xbox gamers happy, they have to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and unfortunately that is the Xbox. If they show they are favoring the PS3, not only will Xbox gamers be unhappy and but so will MS which could cost them sales.

It's the world we live in...
