It probably would have been cheaper. Good for Insomniac though.
That's my favorite.
You know the biggest difference? You will never find a more outspoken critic of a particular sports team than its biggest fans.
Not so much with gaming. Some act like they lose their membership card if they dare to say anything that remotely goes against the hive.
Meanwhile, sports fans are criticizing the play calls in the opening series of the first preseason game.

"Alexa, what is the 4th Amendment?"
"Sorry, I couldn't find the answer to your question."
Fans also have to learn to seperate developer decisions from publisher decisions. More often than not, devs have little to do with any of the "exclusivity" agreements made by their publishers, but they get brought into the argument because of their willingness to engage.
Smart. Same here. With the cross-gen stuff, I doubt I'll be too upset by waiting a bit for next gen. I'm thinking Black Friday 2021.
No need to apologize. For all of MS's screw ups and disappointments, hopping online and playing Gears with good friends is something I can't imagine giving up on. I still have some guys and girls on my friends list from Gears 1. It feels like a reunion with each new entry, and I'm thoroughly excited for 5 and the good times that will come.
With Steam and Game Pass, lobbies will be full, that's for sure.
I was impressed with what Coalition...
Yep, I do. This part right here seem a little out of place to you?
"— do not allow time for him to work on IP they do not own."
No mention of the financial discussions, just Feige's work load? WTF? Then they're sure to add a bit about how he's too busy to work on a property that, by the way, "we still own."
Realize that your "facts" are the contrived and very purposeful PR attempts from one of...
I'm 50/50 on the Remedy rumors. I would think they'd strike up an exclusive deal for a game or two first before committing, but there's a fair amount of buzz about them being acquired from a lot of folks.
I will say that if they do an Alan Wake 2, they really should do it multiplat, though. Screw the console warriors wanting to score points. That's just needless bad press for a franchise that has a small, but pastionate fanbase.
Sony Pictures gets its portion of the blame for mismanaging the IP for so long that they lost leverage in that deal. Their passive aggressive comments about Feige recently only reaffirm that. If there is hate train for the Amazing Spiderman or Venom films, buy me a ticket.
Disney is ruthless, but I can't fault them for moving in with the better hand. Disney has the fanbase and the media on its side. A deal will get done, but I will put money on Sony caving first.
All fair points. I had to check to see if the video was at half-speed.
Art style is pretty nice, but the speed was more akin to a (limited) NES beat em up. Speed that up and maybe add splash damage for a few of those heavier attacks.
Hope to see it delayed until they get it right, honestly.
It's a trade off, that's for sure.
Beyond your mainstream titles, I've both struggled to find copies of many physical games, and I've seen that sticker price on rare titles climb and climb over the years.
I think the market will continue to support physical and digital distribution, despite the strange attempts by some to make it seem like one is so much worse than the other.
Loved Witcher 3, but your comment would make more sense if you named a game that had a strong MP component to go with the campaign.
The point is that Gears will have a SP campaign, coop, PVE, and PVP. Unfortunately, that is kind of rare this gen.
The "next" thing is pretty cringe, too.
Is it still in effect? Supposedly Marvel only got another shot at a 3rd film if Far From Home top $1b. It did. They're also saying that Holland is only signed up for 1 more movie. Importantly, I believe FFH is also the highest grossing Spiderman movie of all time.
If you're Disney, and you have that kind of leverage, you're not going to use it to try to get a better deal? From what they are reporting, Disney only gets 5% of ticket sales right now.
Sony still has the movie rights, but what were the terms of the deal that let Sony use the gaming rights?
I think anyone with taste would say that the gaming rights are best in Sony's hands, and the movies are best with Marvel having creative control (with the animated feature being the sole exception).
Sounds like a 50/50 profit share would be fair.
It's tough for any MP focused game to get it, but Overwatch and Rocket League managed to nab a few GOTYs.
I suspect it'll grab a few nominations and go head to head with COD for shooter/mp GOTY.
Looks fun as hell to me, too.
I'm seeing plenty to think it has a good chance of being nominated. From last year's reveal to the stuff from yesterday, it all looks very solid. Remember, Gears 2 and 3 were in the discussion for many of the awards for graphics, story (yes the dude-bro shooter had a good story), and MP. I think it's a safe bet that 5 will likely grab some awards. Going up against GTAIV, MGS4, and then Skyrim was tough for 2 and 3 (great for gamers though).
As for GOTY? Maybe......
@Juusterey
Right. And a third opinion is that both of those groups are ignorant.
@Sniper
You gave one example from their BS practices in the past. They don't have a time machine. How does he go back and change their 2009 "evil" strategies?
What are they doing now to prevent Sony and Nintendo from competing? Whatever it is, it sure isn't working.
How is that a 180?
Sounds like he wants his product to succeed, but doesn't think success should come at the expense of tearing down everyone else.
From the moment he took over he's been angering Xbox diehards by being "too nice" to the competition. At the same time, countless console warriors have wanted him to repent for the childish and bullish tactics used in the 360 era. So which is it?
The fact that his strate...
My father in law and then my wife played regularly while working on their pilot's licenses.
When lessons can cost a couple hundred $ an hour, it's a nice supplement from what their instructors told them.
I was always more of a "I wish I could shoot stuff" type of player, but a lot of people in that community REALLY dig the accuracy of the simulation.
Well there's something you don't see in too many econ classrooms.
Yeah take that MS! Buying studios full of creative and hardworking devs before they go bankrupt is soooo dumb! Lulz!!
The smart move would be to sign them up for an exclusive 3rd party contract, have them develop a game based on the most popular ip on the planet, sell millions of units, and then pay exponentionally more for the studio afterward.
GTFO with the fanb...
