How dare he make something and sell it for billions of dollars!

Unless you're saying that they outright lied, the plan has always been to put PS4 titles on Now.

Go back to their initial announcement. Whatever narrative you're trying to push comes from somewhere else entirely.

They didn't invest hundreds of millions into the service just to have a shitty bc alternative. This is about growing Sony's most critical revenue stream...gaming. Either trust that they're smart enough not to jeopardize their...

A lot of generalities there. Rhetorical question: If you woke up tomorrow and saw a tweet saying Phil Spencer was gone, effective immediately, you don't think your own response and that of some others we've seen would be slightly different?

That bias street goes both ways.

I also question how clear they are on that path ahead, but they're intentionally not spilling too much right now, which I get.

I get that we've seen t...

I was referencing Ryan and Kodera playing musical CEO chairs with the new "streamlined" structure over there, which in reality, seems like a cluster.

I'm not aware of what changes they may have planned, either ... aside from comments regarding engagement and psn probably being a focus. I know Ryan isn't exactly my favorite, but as long as they don't get in the way of their devs, I'll give him and Kodera a chance.

I don't thi...

Ironically, it's not the "xbox fanboys" stoking the fires on the "internal power struggle" angle on other forums. As we usually have seen, however, the anonymous "insiders" always seem to only have the most negative of insider info.

It's hard to look at the last 6-8 months of changes and not raise an eyebrow though. Even the most devoted of supporter can't convince me that they're completely sold on the Ryan/Kodera moves from ...

If they combined the 3, we might have a really good show.

Agreed. I collect for a lot of older systems, and definitely enjoy a lot of quality titles from back in the day. Even with heavy doses of nostalgia, I'd be lying if I said that modern games aren't above and beyond what we've played in the past. A lot of stinkers, sure. But there are $10 indie games that easily surpass $50+ AAA titles from year's past. Many AAA titles of today were unfathomable to me in prior gens.

It's mostly just the speed for me. If they can get the whole thing sped up and maybe figure out the splash damage, it wouldn't be bad.

The art style is fine, but pixelated would have been better imo.

Ps4 has a massive install base. It might make sense to make it PS4/5/PC to really maximize player counts.

Any PC cross play title should have a toggle for those wishing to not mix with kb/m players.

Keeping the name would be very smart. Even though ND obviously has some very competent MP devs, I could see them receiving extensive additional SIE assistance with this to make it something robust. Maybe even partnering up with someone.

I see Factions being its own potential franchise next gen. Then I could see San Diego's new team taking over Uncharted, and ND delivering 1 or 2 brand new narrative-focused IPs.

I would effectively get everything I w...

How so? I would like it to be all inclusive as one package myself, but that ship has sailed. I just don't think a stand alone MP game is a bad thing. And if I'm taking bets, my money is on Sony doing exactly what I described.

I've personally wanted Sony to invest more in MP, but not at the expense of its SP. So this would work for me just fine.

2313d ago 3 agree3 disagreeView comment

Despite the feelings from a lot of the outspoken minority, I suspect a MP Factions game for PS5 would do quite well. Maybe not Fortnite or Minecraft popular, but definitely a healthy player count.

With Sony's comments about opening up some exclusives to PC, a game like that would be perfect. A seperate, MP focused GaaS title set in the LoU world would hopefully attract some PC only players to try out the SP game on a PS4 or PSNow.

Haha, doubt away. There would be zero need to make anything exclusive to any platform had it not been paid for.

They paid millions.

Tomb Raider was taken off Saturn for technical reasons? WTF? Keep your revisionist bullshit to yourself. Sony was bullish in creating their dent in the market, and kept it up for generations. No hate...I respect what they've done, actually. But to sit here and act like poor multibillion dollar Sony needs your defense is laughable.

Hell, MS had to BUY OUT Sony's exclusivity agreements in order to get some games to go multiplat, lol.

I never did it intentionally, but there were times I would go for a merc and, after an inadvertent arrow or sword, villagers would start coming after me.

10 minutes later, the streets are full of bodies as I try to kill off the remaining snitches.

How does MS start something that began before they were even in the console business?

How you can honestly believe that the media has been or is currently soft on MS is hilarious too.

What's also funny is that, like with MS last gen, Activision is the only one winning in the deal. Sony could have paid zero dollars for this marketing deal and ultimately sold the same amount of copies.

If you want to be a cheerleader for that ignoran...

If you leave your bubble and look around elsewhere, both Activision and Sony are taking heat for this. Not sure how that's a good move.

It's pretty obvious that everyone you see defending it were going to get it on PS4 already, if at all. So millions spent to get bad press? The casual gamers who make COD the most popular game on both PS4 and Xbox won't even notice this garbage move. Meanwhile, you're years into a gen and still throwing money at COD like it m...

My theory:

Their practices are so bad that they've transended to a level where people can't even fully grasp their extent.

It's quite impressive.

You mean, if that were the case, then the bullshit payment Activision receives for these deals wouldn't be as profitable. Boo hoo.
