I have the 60gig PS3 and have not tried the 2.01fw yet, but with 2.0, I would get random lock-ups to straight up crashes. When I first put the disc in, I played straight for over 4hrs with out an issue, then took the game out to have a break and a friend came over. This has nothing to do with dragging the 360 anywhere. Microsoft backs the HD-DVD side. And Sony did not force anything down our throats, this generation of games are pushing the boundries of the DVD9 format, and Sony smartly choose to include the BD player in the PS3. This will be yet another system seller for the PS3, come Christmas I am sure Uncharted and R&C will make waves for sure! I guess the waiting paid off after all a folks? There are a lot of great games for the Sony system, I just hope I get 2 or 3 of the 7 I put on my Christmas list!

Blue isn't going anywhere, between the PS3, stand alone players, PC readers and re-writables...heck, the PC market alone will ensure Blue is not going bye, bye. With PC using blu-ray burners, the discs holding 100gig native, and 200+ gig discs in the works, what does HD-DVD have, a 51gig disc that is still in development. And the red camp expects to win? Not going to happen.

Ridge Racer 7 allowed you to do this, and it greatly sped up the times between stages to the order of a good 5sec. Now 5sec may not sound like a lot, but wait to load a race, race, wait to load main screen, prepair for next race, wait for it to load, it took me all of 10 races before I went into the options and installed the game data to the hard drive. Big improvement!
I have like 6 games for the PS3 on my christmas list and two for my 360. The PS3 is stepping up to the plate and showing great promiss despite what the bashers are saying. It cracks me up when they make their cute little names for the system...I guess it goes to prove, you fear what you don't understand!
But what you are not seeing is that we PS3 owners are not saying "every exclusive must be a AAA title", but we are saying Uncharted, and R&C while we are at it, were given great and even fantastic writeups, but then a low score at the end. Take AC for instance, big talk around that game, low scores, do you see us fussing about the scores on that game...well, maybe some of us are, but for that game it is deserved, the low scores for Uncharted are not warranted, just given! I hear what you are saying, and you guys all said it nicely without calling anyone names or using flameboy ridden derogatory comments...my hat is off too you all, however, you can not deny the overwhelming reviews Uncharted has been given and 1up and egn go through and praise the game for this, and praise the game for that, and say "this makes up for the games downfalls" but never tell WHAT those downfalls are. You have AC for the PS3, are there framerate issues? Just looking for a honest answer, the game play may be repettative, but what about the framerate?
Also, back on track, Uncharted Demo rocked, I would put this game at a 9.0 to 9.2 for lacking any co-op! :) Naw, just kidding about the multiplayer.

A great write up on the pricing as of Feb 2007, a little old I know, but still a good read. Please keep in mind that most HD-DVD movies require dual layer while the majority of BD movies fit on a single layer disc...

You say "get over it", yet it is you that is prolonging this war. If the two studios would not have taken the bribe (lets just call it what it is shall we), then HD-DVD would already be gone and we wouldn't have to worry about the "support this, support that" type of arguments. For us early adopters, it is not that the movie would not play, just the special features may not work. You know, the listening to the directors explaine why they did this and not that with a particular sceene. So, how many movies have you actually gone in and looked at that stuff.
