Come on, give him a big round of applause...he is trying so hard. Oh and look, he is trying his routine of a stand up commic here. Well ain't that cute. You just keep trying there little feller, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. And when they boo you off the stage, look at it this way, you will get free food!

I will believe you. I will purchase the 360 version over the PS3 just because you said it will be the better game, but there will be a catch, if the PS3 is in the slightest bit better than the 360, you will buy me the PS3 version. So, come on, put your money where your mouth is. Deal?

You sure got a lot of dissagrees there, not to mention that you say you sell these systems and don't even get the specs right. You sir are a terrible sales person (you don't even deserve the title salesman)! I wonder, while you are talking people out of the PS3 which makes more money for the company you supposedly work for and talk them into a 360 arcade which has no hard drive, does your boss know you do this? If I were your boss, and I caught you doing that, you would be on a extended va...

I didn't know it would format it for you...I have only messed around with my external and fought with the whole FAT32 format, but if the PS3 does it for you, heck that makes things a whole bunch easier!

Sweet!

I too have the 60gb modem which I set up Linux on and getting my external to work with the PS3 was a bit trying as I only had XP machines around the house.

Just to keep things fair, the 360 can use a external drive just like the PS3, and for the same stuff, music, movies, saves, just not downloaded content I believe. It also must be formated to FAT32.

All of the above is correct, any 2.5 sata drive will work, not just any laptop drive. Also, you need a OS to format the drive FAT32. XP will not work, it will not format a hard drive in fat32. Also, Win2k will format fat32 but only up to 32gig. The external drives are the same, need to be formated as fat32, and just connect to the PS3 throught the usb connection. That is how he has a 120 internal and 300gig external. I think FAT32 allows up to 1TB, am I correct on that?

I mean wow! How wrong can you get in one paragraph? Digital distribution is a long, and I do mean long way off. Not everyone has a high speed connection there big guy. There are still a couple million dial-up subscribers out there that don't have a high speed connection because there simply isn't one available in their area. And lets just look at the current offering shall we?

Microsoft is spearheading the digital media with the 360 and downloading movies and tv shows. lo...

Unlike red, we don't rely on just one manufacture, and while the PS3 may not get a lower price this season, that doesn't mean that Denon or LG or any of the other blue builders wont pop out a sub 300.00 or even sub 200.00 player to compete whith this low priced red player.

give it up for the guy with one bubble folks. I guess we can see a new username from him real soon...

Just for the record guys, computers are number crunchers, that is what machine language is. Even graphics cards. You guessed it, number crunchers with dedicated pathways...GPU...Graphics Processing Unit! What, you think programmers say "float yellow ball to right side of screen" and the computer does it? Please, why do you think they call it binary language? As ...

I don't know why I put quotes around your name...was probably going to do something else and got side tracked. But the RROD was not resolved with the new heatsink they started to use, and people are still getting the RROD with the "Falcon" board and the new smaller CPU. The nasty looking Halo edition has the new board and I know of a couple that have gone back to the place of purchase with RROD listed as the reason.

Oh, and using quotations is not just used to imply...

While the one sale of one movie might lead you to believe no one cares about HD movies, it is the conflict between the two formats which is creating the slow adoption rate. If you were to own a HDTV, you would realize that a upscalled DVD does not look good on a HDTV. It is watchable, but depending on the movie and compression, it may look as crisp as a HD broadcast (Ice Age looks great) and as bad as a mpg2 video playing on your computer screen viewed at doublesize (The Astronaut Farmer). ...

The 360 is a HD machine supporting 720p and upscalling to the 1080i and with a recent firmware update 1080p. The only game I am aware that falls to the low res is the famous Halo3. Which in my eyes still looked beautiful, just a bit on the jaggie side.

The thing is that both the 360 and the PS3 were supposed to be next-gen systems. MS got the jump when Sony had troubles with the reliability of their new system. MS should have done the same amount of testing but because of t...

It is no wonder why you have so many bubbles sir. That was a well thougt out and written post. So many times have we the owners of both systems tried to defend the PS3 from 360 only crowds saying the developers just are not trying hard enough or were taking the wrong line of attack to program for the PS3. It is nice to see the justification of our efforts to defend this small piece of plastic from the nay-sayers. I do hope this is a good sign of things to come, but I am also saddend by it...

your following comment...

"And just because people are buying up flatscreens makes no difference. No.1 reason for buying a flatscreen - aesthetics."

The biggest reason everyone is switching to HDTV is because they see the clairity in them they have been wanting ever since tv's went color. Add to the fact that a SD signal looks like crap on their brand new TV and you now realize why so many of us are so wound up on getting one format of red or blue. <...

I wouldn't put anything Cuco said as straight fanboyism. He only stated he purchased a red player because of the cost compaired to buying a upconverting dvd player. It was a smart decision. So is this cheap A2 model. You can purchase a upconverting dvd player for 75.00 plus and get no movies with it, or purchase a red or blue player that comes with 5 or more movies. Doesn't take a genious! The blue players just havn't come down in price yet.

Cuco, kind of funny on your ne...

Your logic is there, but you are forgetting one very important thing. Those of us who purchased a PS3 because of its features, are playing our HD games on a HDTV. Now, after seeing how great a true HD picture looks, do you honestly want everyone to beleve that we are watching SD-DVD's on that big TV? Now I am by no means saying we are rushing out to replace all of our DVD's with BD since the PS3 does a great job at upscalling, but any new purchases sure as heck will be bought blue. Take i...

Just keep it real bud, you don't have to make stuff up to try to swing someone on the fence from one side to the other, BD players do not take minutes to start playing a movie, and just like their red bretheren, nearly all have a ethernet jack for online firmware updates.

Don't try spreading junk to win someone over with bad information, us Pro BD guys won't let you get away with it, and then that person on the edge sees the blue guys post smartly, while the red side just makes...

Now first things first, I have not looked into satalite so I do not know what they broadcast their HD channels at, but Cable TV services with a HD compatable receiver (the DVR) is at 480p/720p/1080i. That is as high as they go. Most of the new TV's being sold today (you probably will find it difficult to find a SDTV at this point in time as everything should be HDTV at this point) have a max res of 1080p. Will you notice a difference between 720p-1080i-1080p? Probably not. However, the H...

If you look at the flyer, http://holiday.ri-walmart.c... the sale starts at 8:00am and goes untill they are gone, also there is a limited supply at the stores, and not every store is doing this.

I am about as anti-HDDVD as you can get, and this is a very agressive pricing for the unit, even if it is for a couple of hours or a day. $100.00 is cheap. And if the posting by ITR (14.6) is correct, with a firmware update this unit will be able to output 1080p...well there will be a lot of people swung over by this. Even if Wally World only has 10 or 20 of these units per store to sell at this price, that is a lot of units going out the front door.

Blue will have to do som...
