@ organic:
You seem to be the most outspoken person that knows nothing of what he is talking about. First off there are very few HD-DVD movies which fit on a single layer disc...if any, so from a pure data standpoint, the hd-dvd disk is showing how small it is requiring most if not all movies to be rolled out on the dual layer 30gig disc. To those of you that claim that the hd-dvd is cheaper than blu-ray, well the dual layer required of any hd movie is more expensive than the...
Well, as of my response, you have 5 agrees and 0 disagrees, yet by your own words...
"Edit: Honestly, real talk though. I appears the PS3 owners give loads of verbal support to the products that they like. But, they don't spend much money. Since the PS3 (AND THE PS3 ALONE) is what's really carrying blu-ray from a hardware stand point. (Remove the PS3 is blu-ray died months ago.) Why aren't there more blu-ray discs sold, I wonder what the blu-ray movie attach rate is for PS...
Just reading the listings from all the studios onto BD should make any HD-DVD loyalist shudder in fear...ha just kidding guys...it's my style, but anyone would admit that the following paragraph taken from the story brings a smile to the BD owners of us...
"Hollywood has lined up key blockbusters to ship this quarter as well as in early 2008 to entice PS3 and owners of the stand-alone BR-D units from companies like Sony and Panasonic to increase their libraries. Walt Disne...
I have also been seeing a large amount of commercials on TV for the PS3, it is weird, most of the time the channel will group all three systems in a row...first the PS3, then Wii, then the 360...its like a barrage of console advertising. But it is nice to see the PS3 get some airtime...love that R&C commercial!
Picked up a Little Ceasers Pizza!
That was it, nothing else, just the pizza.
The a$$ in me says we ought to go into K-Mart and start asking where the Blu-Ray players are, when they respond that they no longer carry them say "well I was just looking at one last month...I guess I will take my business elsewhere!"
That is all well and good, but you are sounding like you are trying to convince the people that OWN a PS3 and playing the games they like on it that the PS3 still has no games. Let it go. Those of us that OWN the system know what it has and are very happy playing the games we purchased. We do not rely on some chart that says "the top selling game this week is ___________". If that is how you buy your games for the 360, then good for you. Myself, I look at the reviews from the v...
From small minds come small ideas. You will be supporting HD-DVD two years after they close their doors! Wake up man, open your eyes. The support for your format is dwindling and I am very sorry for your loss but their has to be a winner and a loser. The HD-DVD side tried to make a good run, but the rest of us that did their research choose BD as the format of choice. Have a nice life, sell the HD-DVD and get into BLUE!
Oh, and do be careful, it looks like your bubbles are...
With no movies to purchase since only a handfull of studios supporting it I am sure you are saving money left and right. Anyway, enjoy your expensive dvd upscaler, better sell that HD-DVD on ebay now and hope some other fool buys it.
being an owner of a PSP, I only have two movies on UMD though, Spidy 2 that came with the system, and Underworld.
I think the UMD would have done a lot better if they didn't charge so much for the discs. (It always comes down to money doesn't it.) Plus they never made a set top box to play the UMD discs at home. They were a format only the PSP could use. Shame really. But when you can buy a real DVD then rip it and put it on a 1gig card and watch it on the PSP, why buy the...
right in the terms of use, it states you can not have multiple active accts at the same time, and here you are with two seperate accts and even posting in the same article with both. That is kind of a blatent missuse of the AUP dont you think....guess we can look forward to Lightning 3rdacct once these first two are banned.
As for the PS3 dying, considering it is only a couple million short of the 360 in sales already, well fans such as yourself just need to realize that the 3...
The two guys in front of you however should have been more concerned with quality instead of price...I feel they will end up hating HD-DVD because of the player...
taken from Newegg (notice this is not a 1080p player)...
Pros: Plays HD DVD's and upscales DVD's to 1080i/720p. Picture quality is a lot better than Blu-ray (yes I know they use the same codec, the hardware is just better for HD DVD). Cheaper than Blu-ray.
Cons: Does not play at 1080p but thats why ...
I have to dis-agree with you there bud. You might be happy to view that HD-DVD or BD disk on a SDTV but you are missing most of the picture. You say you could care less about the 1080p viewing and would be happy with the SD format. If you were to purchase a new tv, instead of using your old 4:3 format tv you would realize why so many of us want the full deal. This guy talks about a properly compressed movie on HD-DVD looking just as good as its BD counterpart, and that with proper compres...
Now THAT is what I'm talking about! You sir get a bubble!
I mean they took money from Microsoft, why not take there tactics?
@ wageslave
That is the only thing which has stopped me from purchasing Warhawk is the fact that it is online only. And if Sony can not guarantee me that 4yrs from now when I want to play this game that there will still be a lag free server up and running I find it hard to plop down my money for the game. At least with XBL it is a peer to peer connection so as long as one other person wants to play online, we can...even 10yrs from now (as long as XBL is still around of course...
First off, I would like to say I truly am a brain surgeon and I moonlight as a PR for Microsoft and I gotta come clean with the lot of ya. Microsoft doesn't want me to say this but the Nintendo crowd are wiping the floor with us. As a result, we are running a mud slinging campaign against Sony since they are our closest.....</sarcasm>
you have seen a Pixar movie right...and you are compairing Orange Box to Pixar? What are you playing that xbox on, a 13" B/W tv?
I can not believe you actualy put those words together for other people to see.
"while Microsoft's are largely imagined (vista is actually great, their server software rocks, MSN/Live is really good)."
OMG there are so many things wrong with that statement...wait a min, everything is wrong with that statement!
Vista is by no means great...in fact out of the starting gate, Vista machines were not able to connect to dhcp servers and needed ...
For a last ditch effort for a format which is about to loose another backer, I think I will stay with my PS3 and look forward for these movies to drop like a hammer...
"Walt Disney Home Entertainment has Ratatouille, Cars, Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End shipping this year. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has all four Die Hard films, Mr. And Mrs. Smith, Independence Day and The Simpsons Movie heading to BR-D this year...
