Watching the MS boys defend their RROD box

Very true, the sad part of it all is they keep bringing up the PS2 and its disk read errors, but even if you combined the failures with the PS1, PS2, and the PS3 together, they would still be less than the failure rate for the 360.

The way I see it, if they are too stubborn to see the writing on the wall, then so be it, those of us that own both systems will not convince them otherwise.

We all know that HD-DVD was pushed to the customers finalized, and that Blu-Ray was a work in progress. Those of us that could look past that point saw the true potential in blue. So I find my self wondering why you felt your remark needed that little quip. HD-DVD lost, Toshiba raised the white flag of failure, Blu-Ray won.

I'll rent that once it comes out on Blu-Ray, don't think it will be worth the $7.50 admission!

so now it is up to a 40min install, hmmmmm, I guess that means that it loads 8 times faster than the 360 version right? I mean since you are doubling the install time, then we all get to double how much faster the PS3 loads than the 360 right? So while you are staring at that wonderful loading screen for 8 seconds, my loading screen will only take 1 second. That sounds like a winner to me!

Cool, well then, I will purchase the game for the PS3, while I wait for the "40mi...

We know it takes 21min and 41sec to install to a standard 5400rpm drive. Anyone out there have a 7200rpm drive with a stopwatch? I have a Hitachi 7k200 200GB drive, but probably will not get the game till next week.

Hard Drive Specifications:

Capacity (GB): 200
Interface: SATA 2.5-in Mobile
Spindle Speed (RPM): 7200
Buffer Memory: 16MB
Average Seek (msec): <10
Average Latency (msec): 4.2

This should not have been a forced install. Personally I do not have a problem with installing the game data to my drive, I did it with RR7, UT3, and R&C. Drive space is not an issue for me, I have upgraded my drive to a 200gig drive in anticipation for Sony's IPTV service. But I understand why Capcom (lets get that straight boys, this is not Sony's baby, Capcom decided to do this) wants to use the hard drive they KNOW is in every single PS3 built, it should just be an option, not a re...

You guys are drumming up some nasty memories. I had the C-64 with the infamous 1541 disk drive and I remember sitting in front of that system for days typing in all that machine language code out of a magazine and then going through it line by line because the end CRC did not match.

While I do agree with some of the arguments against this being a forced install, I am not sure why it takes so long to install...20+ min to copy 5gig of info off of a BD disk? Even if the info is ...

If you called MS on the RROD issue, got the coffin and sent back the 360 in all its many small pieces.

Wouldn't you love to see the reaction of the guy that checks your 360 in, opens the box and sees what is left...priceless!

If you can not truely see this is a joke article made for the fun of it, off a parody which is the 360's life, then why are you even on the internet? Check into a mental hospital please and get your lives in order.

Let me guess, the three of you thought you could drop your 360 and the powers that be would prevent it from smashing into a thousand little pieces after it plummets 7 stories onto the cold hard concrete?

Or did you think that it would grow wheels to p...

Typical, it was explained in an earlier post here on N4G that the developer is not charging more for the game, but it is the retailer that is deciding to do this. Nothing to do with development time, BD disk usage, or solar winds, the retailer is charging more because they want too and can.

Here is the link...

Take Genuine for instance, he wrote "More diversity, quality, and quantity are all things the 360 has over the ps3", well I will give him quantity but that is about it.

Software wise, the 360 is doing pretty good, no one can deny that, but diversity is something I would look at to the 360 with the number of years it has been out. The 360 has a very rich and full library of games. Hardware wise, the PS3 is just as diverse as the 360. Both are media hubs, both are HD...

EA's track record has been less than great, but burnout paradise IS a new game from EA and one that depending on who you talk with is either on par with the 360, or-ever-so slightly better. So, like I said in my first response, if EA can keep this type of work on their following games, those of us with both systems can start supporting our PS3 with EA games.

If YOU think the 360 SOLD the 15+ million, then you are delusional, every 360 that was replaced under store waranty because of the dreaded RROD is counted as a sale.

In other words, to put it simple so you can understand this...

My friend has gone through 5 360pro and 2 360elites, although he has technically owned 7 360's, he has only had 1 at a time, but MS still counts that as 7 360's sold. You do the math, and I am sure even you will come to the understanding...

Burnout Paradise!

EA and others did a fantastic job on this game. My wife gave it to me last night as a early b-day present. If they can do they type of work on their following games, well, EA just dug themselves out of the grave!

Some of these 360 owners can't see past their nose, let alone the boundries of North America.

ok. Lets see here, MS has on the shelf a Arcade with no hard drive, a Pro with the small 20gig hard drive, the Halo3 edition with a still small 20gig hard drive, oh and the Elite with the 120gig hard drive. Everytime I start up a game on the 360 it askes me where I want to save my data. Where, on my 120gig hard drive, that is where, why can't you remember that, oh right, because the game developer does not know if there is a hd attached to the system or not. This day and age of digital me...

Do not beleive whoever told you playing a DVD will harm the BD player. PS2 games are on DVD, and all BD drives are backwards compatable. Sony is not removing B/C because the DVD is hurting the BD player, but because we as customers want a cheap PS3 and the only way Sony can do that is removing the un-necessary features as part of cost reduction.

In short, no, you will not hurt your PS3 by playing PS2 games or watching a standard DVD movie.

That is untrue. Current 7200 rpm drives are no hotter than the 5400 rpm counterparts. Their only issue is that in the PS3, they offer no attainable speed increase over a 5400 rpm drive. Also, 7200 rpm drives are currently limited to 200gig max.

I kid, I kid, you know, it was a joke because of the stuttering all the EA sport games seem to have. Get it? Geeze, my humor is wasted here!
