Why the hell should he even care? Did he run low on stories that week and need to pull something out of his crack to keep himself from getting fired? If others wish to buy MS products then that is there prerogative...welcome to freakin America. He is just one more hack writer under the delusion that his inconsequential article is going to change the world or make his non-MS stock rise...please. The funniest thing is his insinuation of others being MS fanboys...doesn't that action alone make h...

Most likely the main reason is that Sega does not have either the time, funding, or desire to set up their own servers. In order for Sony to keep PSN free they have made the choice to make publishers foot the bill to provide servers for their games. So until Sega gets their own servers in place there will be no VF5 online for the PS3...at least for what its worth, PSN is free. You can expect this situation to repeat itself. What will really get interesting is when MMOs start making their way ...

Ignorant has a very valid point and one that I have been pointing out all along. Tell me exactly what "buyable" games were available at launch...Resistance...that's it???? Sony knew damn well that no games meant hardcore buyers would be out buying Blu-ray movies to tide them over until more games came out. We saw the "spike" after the US launch and low and behold a spike after the Europe launch. They rely on the Blu-ray to keep them afloat with no games and when the games ...

and it doesn't run on a 3G network is inexcusable. At $600 for a phone, this thing should be the Lexus of phones and have ALL the bells and whistles...and I DON'T have to own one to know that. I would be MUCH better served picking up a Helio Ocean for half the amount...but alas...it wouldn't have that little apple logo on it...boo hoo.

but the demo you are using for example is for Time Shift not Time Splitters I have personally never played Time Shift so I don't know what similarities it may have with the latter. I can see where the naming might get people confused on a quick take.

Talk about wrong...If the studios got behind one format there wouldn't have been a war in the first place, but that is not the case...is it.
No...what prolongs the war is having each of your favorite movies exclusively on 2 different formats. I also find it offensive as a consumer to have ANY company to try and force me to buy specific hardware because they made some kind of agreement to make sure the movie I like is ONLY on one format.

As far as consumers wouldn't "...

So...what the consumers are saying is that price matters with their hardware choice. Sounds like Sony is going to get to learn this lesson twice.

The ONLY reason Blu-ray is in its current position is Sony sacrificing their gaming market share to take a gamble on the format war. They pushed the PS3 out the door with no games knowing that their hardcore supporters will have no options but buy Blu-ray movies to tide them over. This created the spike that Sony needed to convince mo...

of course you would have to run like hell to catch up. Sony is running like hell right now and have a longgggg way to go. As far as pace...which is better....3 improvements every month or 30 improvements every 6 months....you do the math. Unless you secretly work for Microsoft you have NO idea what pace they are moving at on LIVE updates.

As far as this guy goes...he works for a Pro Sony studio that stands to make most of their money off of games for the PS3...of course he is g...

Let them all take 33% and fight like hell to get that last 1%...that's when consumers benefit.

Of course CELL = Sony even though it was created by IBM, so anytime someone is using the cell chip they are automatically using the PS3 to do something non-related to gaming even though the hardware is nowhere near related. Obviously it is an article written using the PS3 interchangeably with the cell so they don't have to commit the space in the article trying to explain to public what the cell chip is...most are already familiar with the Playstation name.

So basically what the article claims is that of the stand alone players out there Blu-ray has 100K sold and HD-DVD has 150K sold. It will be interesting to see how the end of the year plays out especially this Xmas when the real war begins with the stand alone players....that will determine which way the war goes....stand alone buyers will be the people dedicated solely to buying movies.

What I don't get is where people ASSume that studio support is etched in stone. The movie is not due out until 2009 which means the media will not be out until 2010. NO ONE knows what is going to happen until then...for all we know the next consoles will be out and it will all be moot. These type of articles are nothing more than a mechanism for polarized a$$bags to spout off biased opinions and wave their pom poms for their coporations of choice.

it was a generalization for Sony backers. I didn't notice any .com in my post. The person who tipped/posted was obviously pro-Sony and ran with it WITHOUT even fully reading/understanding the article before posting it. He simply saw what was in bold and posted because it was exactly what he wanted to see/hear. It is just another one of those "take that" posts that wastes more time mudslinging as opposed to posting legitimate news....which goes for everybody.

This is the downside to having these post contests...people will go out and dredge up the most obscure and unfactual crap they can get their hands on all in the name of getting those numbers up.
