that the Elite package and separate HDD package would both contain a cable to transfer everything from an older drive. Seeing how all the downloadable content is keyed on the HDD with DRM this was probably why it took them so long to bring another HDD out...they needed to develop a reliable transfer mechanism first. Until this thing is on the shelf as advertised I will be keeping a skeptical stance.
And your math particularly sucks too...must be using Sony logic.
Put as many countries or pluses together as you want, but in the end Sony is still a long ways away from 10 million and counting. So it sounds more like Sony has been getting it's a$$ handed to them for the sake of Blue-Ray.
In the future, I would suggest some practice at talking like an adult if you wish to have any chance of being taken seriously...otherwise you are just another one bubble wannabe and not...
It would be nice if this site would give us the opportunity to filter out posted comments by bubble amount. That way I wouldn't have to waste time scrolling over the usual one bubble speed bumps in an otherwise decent conversation.
Why don't you keep your Sony rah rah crap in your own thread, since you obviously don't have anything meaningful to say based off of experience. You're fighting a loosing battle in here.
Umm...the only mention of the word Home I see in this article it the link at the bottom to take me back to the main page...so where does the line:
"Home, Second Life, World of Warcraft. Which all of them have in common? All of them have seats in a billion dollar industry theatre."
actually come from? I usually enjoy fictional writing but only when it is in the proper context and not portrayed as truth.
Seeing how Home is a souped up versi...
Who the hell do you get to play Marcus?
Or Cole for that matter...lol.
You can blame the movie industry and its BS licensing crap. If there is one industry greedier than MS and Sony put together it is them. Just like the crappy a$$ region coding we go through now with DVD's, I am sure MS is going through the red tape of appeasing these audio/visual tyrants before enabling the cross continent downloading. I think it is safe to say that MS is not the hold up...they want to cash in on this as bad as everyone wants the service.
Except for those few untouchable titles that are bought and paid for such as Halo, MGS4, and such you will be seeing more of this going forward. I think the larger majority of the defecting titles will be Sony titles only because they have more titles from the last gen. The only people this will really affect are the ones who were mainly getting a PS3 for this title and the few Sony fans who publicly guaranteed that this would not happen.
This will definitely be a wait and see as far as performance/pay goes. If they could primarily use the LIVE fee to keep the price minimal on this then there should be a number of takers. As far as the 100 vs. 100, if they can make that work without lag then it pretty much makes 40 vs. 40 seem pretty insignificant.
If they can make a successful MMO model work with LIVE then the 360 may just become the console of choice for MMO's. I think $50 a year for LIVE would be even more ju...
is how the Sony fans were pi$$ing and moaning about MS using numbers shipped as numbers sold. That was a big whine fest. Now here we are with the Blue-Ray camp doing the exact same thing by including a great number of free give-aways into their total number to con the public into thinking the war is over. That is ok though right? You Sony/Blue-Ray backers can't have it both ways.
I'm not saying HDDVD or Blue-Ray will win...I am merely stating that that the war is far from over....
But in the end if you have $60 to burn on a game you want really bad or buy 2 Blue Ray movies which one are you going to choose? Those who buy the stand alone players won't give a crap about gaming and thus will devote that choice/money towards movie purchases.
/no sarcasm needed...
This is exactly why Sony released their system before there were any games for it. They spun the hype machine and when their buyers didn't have any games for their Blue-Ray player what did they do...went out and bought Blue-Ray movies. What do you think will happen when PS3 actually starts getting games. PS3 users will start spending their money and time on gaming and then it will come down to who has the most stand alone players because the people who buy the stand alone players will be the ...
Jealous...hmm...don't see it.
What Microsoft did say was that Sony took a whole different approach to what they viewed as online.
If imagining Microsoft as jealous and stomping their feet makes you feel better about things...well then I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.
I have 6 million reasons why you are not going to convince anyone with LIVE that they made the wrong choice. So why are you still on this thread? I think most of the long winded logic being employed by the Sony backers serves more to convince themselves than it does us LIVE users. Just keep clicking those heals together and chanting..."there's no place like Home...there's no place like Home." You can have your virtual dollhouse...we are perfectly fine with LIVE.
As fa...
His own words...."we HOPE to keep Home a free service". The only way Home will stay a free service depends on whether or not enough advertising pays for it. They have a 2 pronged problem...first people will scream up a storm if they have to walk everywhere they go, but since Sony is giving them the option to warp everywhere they now have the problem of trying to appease advertisers. Since Sony will have limited control (for fear of pissing off users) it will lessen the guaranty to a...
Pretty convenient to pick the folding thread to get all high and mighty in. The fact is that this negativity is present from BOTH camps and happens in MANY threads. Most of the time the subject is taken in entirely unrelated directions just for the sake of corporate cheerleading. The best thing that could happen to this site is to remove the fricken HOME tab and place all the Sony and Microsoft news in their perspective tabs and everyone staying out of where they don't belong. If you aren't m...
Folding is a good thing and is helpful. I just don't see where some make this out like the addition of the PS3 is going to save humanity...wow. Good thing yes...but save the world overnight...no. For all those hammering the critics on this...I am to assume you are going to keep your game consoles on most of the time to contribute to this...correct??? While others shouldn't really criticize a potentially positive function, the rest do not have the right to flame them back if they have no inten...
I remember Harrison's exact words were "we HOPE to keep home free". I personally never wasted my time with Sims online. I guess I could see how some might enjoy substituting a real life for an alternate world where they could buy a virtual house they will never have in the real world. The implementation is neat, but the concept was borrowed.
This will be a mechanism to get 360's in a number of schools and universities that wish to either create classes for this particular line of work or simply create interest in Math/Science in our pre-college school systems. Seeing how US school system as a whole has been dragging a$$ when it comes to math and science this would be a great way to generate interest and get students involved again. This type of knowledge will not only be useful for video game design but other areas as well. As te...
"UPDATE: Thanks to your comments, we gave another visit to the article's source, PlayStation Universe. Apparently, they were contacted by 10Tacle Studios and they clarified that they never confirmed a PS3 version of Elveon and that they are not currently working on it."
This was taken right from the page AllAround linked...right up at the top. I can understand why others would wish it true though.
And he has no more bubbles to respond either...that's too bad...well not really. heh.
