It doesn't matter which came out first, or which was in development first. Fils-Aime is doing his job, which is to make consumers believe that Move wont offer any experience that can't be had with the Wii. Tretton recently made a similar comment about Natal, although he phrased it a big more eloquently.
Anyone who has seen Sony's technology knows that its not just Wiimote clone, but it will be up to Sony to create the software to prove it. Then it will be up to Sony's marketi...
If you were on fire I don't think Sev would piss on you to put it out. If you don't like PSLS, then stop clicking on the articles. Simple enough, eh? Just because YOU don't think this is newsworthy does not mean that it isn't. I definitely think an GOW:UE signed by Stig is newsworthy enough.
GTA, COD, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy (although it did it as a PS Exclusive in Japan)....That's a pretty elite group of IPs, and of course they are going to sell more, that's the point of going multiplatform.
How many exclusives actually hit those kind of numbers? Halo, Gears, Metal Gear Solid, and now God of War. Gran Turismo 5 will certainly be added to that list. That is also a pretty elite group of IPs.
"While FPS games with motion control are neat at first, it will always be far less efficient and useful than any controller or mouse."
He states this as fact, and that is hardly the case. If well implemented, motion control for shooters could outclass analog control. The level of "Precision" is much higher. Zipper has stated that they might see issues with balance because the Move game testers are owning the DS3 testers.
The bottom line i...
It looks like a stage mic to me more than anything else. The use of "Dildo" is just the kiddies' way of attempting to poke fun at a product's looks that otherwise appears to work very well.
On topic, I think Natal will be great for certain demographic. At this point I see it as more a a "Wii Fit Balance Board" competitor. It will be excellent for fitness games, and I think it will see success there. Outside of that, MS hasn't yet sold me on its usefulness...
Does anyone actually base their decision to buy a game on one of Sterling's reviews? He is probably the most unprofessional journalist out there, and no one takes him seriously. He is an attention whore, and I'll give him credit, he is excellent at drawing attention to himself.
I do wonder if Destructoid will continue to allow him to review games. I have to feel at some point Metacritic will give them an ultimatum...either this clown stops reviewing games or your site is off m...
...or just poor at action games. Sure an advanced gamer can use it to see how fast he/she can get through the game, but that isn't an accurate representation of how long the game is.
As an example, I am certain I could beat Mass Effect 2 in 6 hours or less if I wanted to. That doesn't make it a 6 hour game.
I'll fully admit that Sony Fanboys seem to be more "protective" of their exclusives. While all of things the author mentions are annoying, they don't really affect anyone. You either sit back and laugh or you curse at your screen.
I had that same opinion about all fanboys until recently, right before Heavy Rain was released. Then seemingly all over the internet 360 fanboys were doing anything they could to spoil the ending, creating user names, posting everywhere. On...
...this will happen. Its more comparable to a mouse than an analog stick.
The implementation needs to be well done, but if it is, the motion people are going to own DS players, because they have a level of accuracy available that just isn't possible using analog sticks.
In other words, Hell will freeze over before it comes to a Sony platform.
Fair enough, but on a similar note, the only way you will abolish drunk driving fatalities is to prohibit alcohol. Is it reasonable to take away that right from those who exercise it responsibly to prohibit the relatively few irresponsible individuals from causing DD fatalities? After all, there are far more alcohol related fatalities than there are gun related fatalities.
Probably not.
Guns are a means of recreation and defense for responsible owners. Antagonists...
Fat PS3s weren't even down for 24 hours, and they are using that as an excuse for the review not coming out until Monday?
My questions would be:
When did they get the PS3 review copy?
When did they get the 360 review copy?
Do games absolutely have to be reviewed on a debug system?
Ugh. Looks like procrastination at its finest to me, and IGN got burned so they are trying to point the finger at Sony.
...FFXIII will be too. Fabula Nova Crystallis was one of the primary reasons I purchased my PS3 in 2006 (Along with MGS4 and GOW3). XIII looks like it is going to be a great FF game to me.
Fanboys get way out of hand with all these comparisons...360 fanboys did it with Ghostbusters and Bayonetta, now PS3 fanboys are doing the same thing. I don't think they realize how much alike they are.
The DICE developer may have had issues with the algorithm, but that doesn't mean that its inferior.
Digital Foundry pretty much comes out and states that The Saboteur's version of MLAA is near equivalent to 16x MSAA, which most would consider to be superior to 4x MSAA. And while they admit that there were artifacts, they also state that they were very difficult to spot.
I would guess that Santa Monica's implementation is much better than Pandemic's, considering they...
I see what you are saying, but Activision themselves shoulder most of the responsibility for the way MW2 turned out. Its clear that the game wasn't ready for release, but there was no way in hell Activision was going to delay it. Publishers who care about releasing a quality product have no problems delaying a game's release until the developer is ready, just look at GT5 from Sony and Alan Wake from MS.
I have to disagree, it was the right move by Sony. Video games are not the medium to push a political agenda, and if Jaffe is dead-set on doing it, he will have to do it on his own dollar, not Sony's.
The guy is great at making games, but he needs to keep his (IMHO uninformed) political views out of them.
The ability to power a PC on via the keyboard has nothing to do with Windows, its a feature that must be supported by the motherboard's hardware and bios. It happens before the operating system boots.
If you mean "Wake" from sleep via keyboard, then yes, Windows supports that, as do POSIX based operating systems.
seeing her "oh" face.
They will end at 6PM on May 31 in LA, where E3 is being held. Honestly I expect another teaser at that time, and Kojima to make his announcement during Konami's presentation.
The Virtual Boy was never considered a "handheld", and Nintendo never marketed it as such. It was an interesting device, but the technology just wasn't ready yet. It was an uncomfortable device to use, and its low refresh rate caused headaches after about 20 minutes.
I think Nintendo made this announcement to preempt what Sony is likely to announce at E3. Sony has been pushing 3D in the living room, so it would only make sense that they would push it in their next...
