God of War III
Heavy Rain
GT5
3d Dot Heroes
White Knight Chronicles
All enjoyed on my PS3 this year. Others are enjoying MAG and Mod Nation Racers.
Reach was the only exclusive for the 360 I purchased this year, very good game.
I got ME2 and Starcraft 2 for the PC. Those are both up there for GOTY in my opinion.
Its extremely early to start comparing sales data and make any assumption on the future of either device. What will the data look like a year from now? 3 years from now?
This blog makes claims of sluggish sales, but everything I have seen indicates that orders from retailers continue to outpace supply. Retailers don't order items that are not selling.
Going back to my original point, in the next few years we will start seeing the best games designed ...
When you look at the poll's demographic, its not surprising. As stated above, FF8 is a romance, and the majority of the people polled were female.
That said, FF8 was a very well done game, and very deserving of a remake. The only thing it lacks in comparison to FF7 is the star power of a Cloud or Sephiroth.
Funny iistuii, I don't see any GT5 trophies on your account.
GT5 is an excellent game. You can downplay it all you would like. The weather effects are far beyond anything in Forza. The premium cars are far beyond any car in Forza.
Yes, GT5 has issues, like every other game out there. Somehow reviewers don't mind overlooking the issues in some games, but are ready to jump all over the issues in others.
Neckbear, you can say that about every game ever given a perfect score. There is no science to scoring reviews, which is why scoring is ridiculous to begin with.
Well then, using your point, wouldn't you call spamming Reach et al retribution as well? After all, back in 2007 N4G was dominated by 360 fanboys, spamming every PS3 article and claiming the PS3 as "doomed". Funny, I never saw you defend the PS3 fanboys claiming that it was retribution.
Oh please. We aren't all that shallow. And using a CNN poll to back up your statement? All I can do is LOL. They are the antithisis of Fox News. Completely slanted to the left.
Sure, shooters are the most popular genre in America (and probably Europe too), but its not as if Americans don't buy other games. Final Fantasy took off in large part due to its popularity in the west. Gran Turismo will do fine in the US.
Reviews wont affect franchises like Gran Turismo, Halo, CoD, etc. These games have massive followings, and they do not give a damn what someone else's opinion is.
Review scores are fanboy fodder. IMO, reviews shouldn't even be scored. Maybe then people would pay attention to what is important, which is the content of a review. Anyone who relies on scores to tell them where to spend their "hard earned money" are the ones idly throwing it away.
If they want to be taken seriously, perhaps they should actually do their own R&D. The Chinese are notorious for ripping technology created by others.
A device like the "i-dong" (LOL) will never see the light of day in Japan or in the West, and the manufacturer knows it. They are infringing on patents owned by both MS and Sony.
Since when is fiberglass used on an exterior panel in NASCAR?
360 fanboys are to flies

Pachter's Analysis is to horsesh*t.
The invite isn't from Sony, its from a marketing research firm. Its likely a focus group intended to determine the best way to market motorstorm toward that 18-35 male demographic. Similarly, focus testing for Dance Central would likely include the 12-35 year old female demographic.
Please check the facts and use common sense before jumping to conclusions and posting articles that fuel the fanboy wars.

Every company has their share of failures. And while MS wasn't a major creator of HD-DVD, they were a major backer. They didn't release the HD-DVD addon anticipating it would fail.
No, I thought of Halo...which is almost certainly where that design came from
Google TV requires an HDMI input, which the PS3 does not have (yes it does have HDMI out). Sony and Google could make a variation of it that focuses on the Browser, Apps, and Internet TV, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I don't think Sony wants to open up the PS3 to GTV app developers.
Why would a non-experienced Killzone player go out of their way to purchase 3 months of PS+ just for the *chance* to enter the KZ3 beta? Participation is not guaranteed, and I don't know anyone willing to shell out $15 for a demo.
PS+ is mostly comprised of hardcore gamers, and its a good user base to select potential testers for a limited beta. Any member going through the trouble of being one of the first 10000 to download the theme is exactly the kind of person Gueri...
...she is talking about Versus.
Edit: Beat me to it stephmhishot.
..but it doesn't deviate from the standard. If I put a game on camera, and did a close up on the dualshock/360 controller with the game in the background, the same lag would be noticeable.
Total latency is controller (typically 22ms for dualshock/360/move), renderer (30-60ms typical), and display (50-80ms game mode). Most games will have 100-150ms total lag, which is about what appears to be here.
Most people don't notice this latency in use. Pros...
OEM licenses are non-transferable. Sure you can do it, but not legally. You either need to already own a retail version, or you must atleast purchase an OEM version (which will not be transferable once you install it on this machine).
At the time it is difficult to be aggressive in the US for a company that operates in Japan like Sony. The US dollar is weaker than the Euro, and both pale in comparison to the yen.
Sure Sony wants to move hardware and software in the states, but they take a big hit if they convert it back to yen.
As long as Sony is keeping pace worldwide, they will be happy with the overall results. When they can bring manufacturing costs down to less than $200 per unit, ...
