Sony isn't "doing it". This is a fan made concept.
Reboot Star Ocean. The concept is great, but they screwed everything up with the ending of 3. Then they piled on with an average prequel that no one really cared about because they knew the truth of the universe.
System reads watermark, Uploads disk ID and System ID to MS and ties it to your gamertag. Game wont play if the watermark has already been linked to another ID.
I would imagine that MS will allow users to tie multiple systems to a gamertag, and thus allow these systems to read linked disks. Otherwise it would be a complete cluster (ie. if a person owns multiple consoles, console breaks, etc).
MS would market this as an anti-piracy measure.
The current model works. If you have to play the game day one and its worth $60 to you, then that is what you will pay for it and the cost is justified. Otherwise you can wait a couple of months and the price will drop unless its a game that had a limited production run.
There are also a ton of promotions that bring down the price of games. For example, I preordered Dead Space 3 and got a $20 gift certificate.
Want to play Fruit Ninja or Killzone: Shadow Fall?
I like Killzone, but if they want to take it to another level they need to open up the environments. The initial city shown in KZ:Shadow Fall looked great, now let us explore it!
And vehicles are a must (the mechs and jetpacks are a nice addition though).
You are incorrect. Everything we saw yesterday was on PS4 development hardware except watchdogs. And Watchdogs had really bad tearing.
What do you do when something breaks? Fix it or replace it.
I wouldn't say we know less. We know what improvements have been made to the DS4. We know about the recording and share features. It was confirment that it has an 8 core APU, 2TF GPU and 8GB of GDDR5. We saw some game announcements and initial footage, all of which looked pretty good. We know 3rd parties are putting games like Diablo 3, Watchdogs, Destiny, and Final Fantasy on it.
There are still many questions, but Sony had to leave something for E3. They always ha...
Hah, atleast they didn't show another FF7 tech demo. That really bit them in the rear last time.
Looks good and I'm getting it, but I think graphically it is just the first step. You can tell that this game probably started its production on the PS3.
If that Capcom demo was in realtime then *that* was amazing. The SE tech demo looked good, and so did Cage's.
Really like the new controller. Really like that they are going with 8GB of RAM. Somewhat worried about the initial price, I can see $499...the tech inside is worth it though.
I can see that available for subscribers to PS+ (or whatever it will be called). Doubt it will be for non-subs though, infrastructure is too costly.
Personally I'm not too worried about PS3 BC. I'll just hook up the ol' PS3 if I want to game on it. I would like PS2 and PS1 BC though.
Haha, imitation is the highest form of flattery:
Copy Dualshock dual analog design...check
Copy Gran Turismo with Forza...check
Copy Eyetoy with Kinect...check
Copy Remote Play with Smartglass...check
In the Game of Thrones, you win or you die.
Its possible, but I don't see that happening. It would be prohibitively expensive to run that kind of service with no return.
I suspect that Gaikai will be tied to some sort of subscription. Sony may go with a tiered PS+ approach. Basic would be basically what you receive today at $50 a year. Premium would include Gaikai and possibly Movie rentals for $15 a month.
MS isn't going to do BC either, so I wouldn't get ahead of myself trolling if I were you. Simply put, the 3.2Ghz PPC hardware in the 360 and PS3 cannot be emulated by a 1.6Ghz x86 architecture.
The only way to get BC is to include the old hardware inside the new, which drives up costs and makes the machine larger. We are talking $100 extra at a minimum, and in today's market that will get you beat, atleast in the US...which is a region MS cannot afford to lose. ...
Developers like LibGCM, particularly the toolkit that was released for Vita. I doubt MS will have an advantage with the majority of game developers with Visual Studio. Maybe indie developers that have never used anything else will be more comfortable with it.
Its likely a headset port. That grille in the middle is for a speaker similar to the one in the wiimote. A speaker on the controller does add a bit of additional feedback for immersiveness, as long as devs don't go overboard with it.
I really think that instead of a touch panel they should incorporate a low resolution touch screen. That gives developers the option for custom buttons. It doesn't even have to be color, monochrome would be good enough and cheap.
Its implied Logic. Otherwise it would be like saying "water is wet". Of course people that don't give a crap about gaming aren't going to know or care about what is announced on the 20th.
In other words, don't make the same mistake Star Ocean did.
