Yeah, upgrades from ports released 1 or 2 generations ago. The NGP is running ports from CURRENT GENERATION hardware, and we aren't talking about the Wii.
That isn't true at all. Developers don't want more platforms, it just segments the user base and increases development time/cost. Its unlikely that a new platform would open a new demographic. They would just sell to the same demographic that currently owns any combination of a Wii, PS3, or 360.
Sega wont return because they don't have the money to. The console market is far too competitive. R&D costs themselves are huge. They would have to sell consoles...
Mittwaffen, since you worked at BB, I'm sure you are aware that well 99% of those PCs are sold with Integrated Graphics (and most of those will be Intel IGPs, the worst kind). They can play WoW..thats about it. Nothing new.
In other words, the common PC is what is holding PC gaming back, not consoles. Developers have a wide range of hardware they are attempting to support. There is a reason a PC game states "minimum requirements", or as you state it, the &qu...
Apple developers are still limited by older hardware. They can't focus on the best hardware available unless they want to seriously limit their user base.
The article also mentions the *rumored* GPU in the PSP2 as quad-core variant of the SGX. They seem to overlook that this will essentially give the PSP2 twice the raw graphical performance of the iPhone/iPad.
@MysticStrummer
Last time I checked, Christians were human. Any Christian that tells you they don't lie is, well, lying. And the US contains a relatively small percentage of the 2 billion Christians in the world.
BTW, I really doubt "ChristianGamer" is actually a Christian. He is trolling Christianity just like he trolls N4G.
That ruling only applied to smartphones. It didn't even include the ipad.
In the future console jailbreaking may very well be ruled legal, but for the moment it is not.
9 hours in, and I havent had any freezing problems. It has some of the same glitches the PC version had (ie Conversations end abruptly). Nothing gamebreaking so far though
I have the PC version, and my PS3 version just arrived today. Why play in on a console? Because its easier to do it from my couch. I'm not a trophy/achievement whore, but that is also a nice bonus. Also I never bought any DLC, so paying $37 USD for the complete game plus DLC seemed like a reasonable deal to me.
Of course the PC version is visually superior, as are the controls. This is the kind of game that could really benefit from Move controls IMO, but DS3 will do...
Doubtful. 2 years dev time between sequels is normal, unless the sequel crosses hardware generations. Just look at Halo, Uncharted, Killzone, Gears, Mass Effect...you get the picture.
They may use some of the content that they cut, but IMO it would be a small percentage. It wouldn't make sense to use content in a sequel that took place at an earlier period of time (before the end of XIII).
One could argue that Anand is bigger. And if you include aggregators slashdot is almost certainly bigger.
Thou shalt not steal
Not really. No way you are beating most bosses without paradigm shift.
I thought Vesperia was good, but this game looks quite a bit better IMO. As Chris said, it looks like it has a darker theme. To each their own.
I just wish Namco would release the PS3 version of Vesperia stateside so we can get the extra content. Its strange that the VAs confirmed dubbing the content, yet it hasn't been released.
@baker_boi
I think its more likely that the forecast dropped because SE no longer anticipates that VS XII will be released in the next fiscal year.
They may decide to go multi with it, but they certainly wouldn't do if if they thought that they would make less money by doing so.
You might want to check out Mazinger's post in that same thread ct03. Sorry to disappoint you.
The only one here sounding hurt is you. And BTW, UC2 sold well over 4 million units.
I am looking forward to both ME3 and UC3. I love a good scifi RPG, and no one can make a cinematic game like Naughty Dog.
GT5 set a precedent. Crtics won't be nearly as kind to Forza as they have been in the past.
What is your source? If you are going to make any claims as to actual sales, you had better come up with real world data.
Sony hasn't hid the fact that they were using shipped data. Their press releases say SHIPPED.
If you are going to attack Sony for being deceptive, you had better have a credible source for your data. Otherwise you are the one that looks like a fool.
Pappy, you're the one who brought up Kinect. Insecure much?
Those devices dont use much bandwidth. Don't count on that happening with the NGP. Between online gaming, PSN downloads, and updates this device will incur a monthly cost on par with smartphones, minus the voice. Probably around $40 a month with a 5GB cap.
I can see Sony going with a carrier that offers prepaid 3G considering the demographic...pay per GB instead of per month. That might be more cost effective. People would just make sure that PSN downloads and update...
