I disagreed BARF. Killzone 3 has a much heavier feel than Call of Duty...and it still requires strategy to win. I will admit that the one multiplayer map in the Beta gives a significant advantage to Helghast Marksmen that enjoy camping. However, that is why you have Tacticians with spot and mark and Infiltrators. You can frustrate the hell of out of camping marksmen wondering how they keep getting killed.

I actually had the hard drive issue after 3.41. My new HD came in the very next day, went to upgrade and got the error. Fortunately for me I was able to put back in my old HD and wait for the "updated" 3.41. Once that was released the upgrade went smoothly.

What happened here is that immediately after updating to the original bugged 3.41, some folks either:
a) formatted their original Hard Disk after taking it out.
OR
b) their orignal Ha...

Well, if website is talking about the cost of building a PC, it should be legal. OEM licenses are non-transferrable, meaning that you are stuck with the original hardware. Most people dont have a retail copy of Windows laying around.

So in reality they should have added around $100 for an OEM licensed copy of Windows 7 Home.

Titanz, that is incorrect. There will be a 22 millisecond wireless delay on both Move and Wiimote. You can due accurate blob detection on a 640x480 frame in that time, so there is no added delay due to the camera.

Kon, according to GDC documents Sony plans on officially supporting Move on the PC through the Move Server Project. No need for "hacks", although that is not how I would classify this.

That said, some unofficial work had already been done attempting to get Move to work on a PC. Image blob detection was probably the biggest hurdle.

Sound business move in the short term. But eventually customers will wise up, and Activision will drive this IP into the ground just like they did with Guitar Hero.

Activision has no foresight. They seem to think that IPs have an expiration date, and they must get everything they can out of it ASAP. The funny thing is, Blizzard is the total opposite.

@Whitenoise
That is not likely to happen. It takes a dual core 3.2 Ghz to emulate the PS2 at full speed. Emulating a Quad Core Cortex A9 @ 1-2 GHz full speed would take a beast of a processor that wont be available for quite some time.

Its the same reason you wont see current generation HD consoles emulated.

Heck, there still isnt even a good PSP emulator.

No, they aren't. Nearly every news media outlet slants news to fit their agenda. Which one is "the worst" is only determined by a persons political alignment. Liberals will hate Fox, Conservatives will hate MSNBC.

Claiming that someone is a fool for disagreeing with your opinion makes you the foolish one.

I think the "complaining" is due to double standards. Some of the same reviewers that slam Killzone for its campaign will overlook that issue for other games. Gamepro gave Halo Reach a 100. Now I really liked Halo Reach, but I thought the campaign was just good...nothing great or spectacular.

From what I have played of the Killzone beta, multiplayer is fun, and it graphically separates itself from other console shooters. As long as GG fixes the connection issues...

@distorted_reality

Sure, Call of Duty has mass appeal, and thus it is successful.

Justin Beiber, Twilight Movies, and douchebags from Jersey Shore also have mass appeal. They are all successful, but that doesn't make them suck any less.

Actually, this I don't have an issue with. If someone wants to turn their PS3 into a dedicated Cell Linux box then by all means do so. This doesn't allow Piracy or Game Hacking. If FailOverflow had just released this and not released the root key I'd be surprised if Sony had much to say about it.

Its the Custom PS3 firmware that is problematic.

And another Mass Effect, another Gears, another Forza...you get the idea. Including the games you mentioned, all will be on their 3rd installment this generation (except Killzone, which is on its 2nd).

This would be the 5th Halo released this generation alone. That puts it at Call of Duty level.

Not that any of this is a bad thing. People want Halo, people want CoD, and people want all the other games mentioned. May as well make them.

Here is the problem droid. Any of those things you mention all revolve around rights for personal use. Each of them have laws prohibiting acts which can negatively affect others, such as driving wreklessly, drinking in public, and shooting people.

If Geohot and his cohorts wanted to hack their personal PS3s "for the challenge" they would be in good shape right now. Problem is, if they did that no one would know or care who they were.

The minute t...

Actually RBlaze the PS2 internal Hard Disk was released before the XBox came to market.

Not that any of this matters, we all seem to agree with blumatt that all companies share ideas. They will offer what the market wants in an effort to sell their products.

I think Move support on the PC is a good idea. Looking forward to tinkering with it and the possibility of 3D UIs and design tools. Graphic Designers will probably be all over this.

If the Move implementation gives users a competitive edge it will be adpoted. Not saying that it will happen, but it is a possibility.

There are several other good reasons for Guerilla to implement move support. Its nice to have an optional, new way of playing these games. It also increases the accessibility of the game to those who may not be used to playing shooters with analog sticks. My roots are in PC gaming, and it was difficult to transition to slow analog movement...

Its not Android. That is one reason why Carmack and Rein are praising it. The OS gives developers access to low level APIs that Android and iOS do not.

The original PS3 models had 256 MB of NAND, enough to hold the entire OS. Swapping a Hard Disk isn't a issue with those models because the OS doesn't need to be installed on the hard disk.

In an effort to cut costs, Sony put 16 MB of NAND in the new models. This is enough to store OS critical functions such as boot and restore. However, the rest of the functionality needs to be installed to the new hard disk. It was a wise move financially, because it doesn't ...

Droid, the Pirates can't exist without the hackers. If you want to kill a snake, you have to cut off its head.

Lets be honest here, these hackers aren't innocent guys just "looking for the challenge." If they were, they would do what other white hats do...find the exploit, inform the developer (in this case Sony), and give them time to correct it. If Sony ignores it, then you make the exploit public.

Instead they immediately made the expl...
