What are you babbling about? I was joking about MS figuring out a way to force some vulnerable 360 consoles to manually overheat and torch the modders. Relax! It was a funny image. Don't be so sore.
Too bad MS couldn't harness the 360's over-heating power in order to fry modded boxes... That'd learn those modders! ;)
I see DC rider 360's still cherry-picking the anti-Sony stories. Where would he be without Joystiq!
Of course it's going to sell more. It's got more mass-appeal and a considerably cheaper price. The PSP is more of a niche device for the over-10 crowd.
One thing that was interesting was the fact that they were only using old PS3 dev kits. Who knows what they'll do with the new kit. Unfortunately from the sounds of it they got the new ones far too late to make much of a difference.
It's limited to 3v3??
That was freakin' nice. The lighting on this game is fantastic. Though I would've liked to have seen this as an FPS, I think the extra detail afforded by making it third-person makes up for it.
:) Well I'm typing about 100 wpm while at work too -- what's your point again? Next you're going to say your dad can take my dad? Anyway, the bottom line is that it sounds like your expectations are too high. There's no one to blame but yourself if you can't take marketing/advertising and fan-hype with a grain of salt. You're just setting yourself up for "a lot" of disappointment.
If you're THAT upset over the actual shipping numbers missing their target by 20...
Yeah, a slower third-person game can't really be compared to an FPS. Let's wait and compare a 2nd generation PS3 FPS to Halo 3 if you want to be more accurate. There's always going to be more detail on a third-person game than 1st.
Incorrect headline. "No Plans" means something completely different than "not currently". Of course they have plans, but they're not going to do anything to affect the sales of the more expensive PS3 SKU, esp. when the majority of interest is in the higher-priced model.
It was certainly reaassuring to hear about how good the AI is in this latest (final?) build. No more turkey shoots.
Early reports suggested it was going to be called "HUB".
"but the enemies seem to have this look like on their faces like shoot me i really don't want to be in the Ps3 game anyway"

While I still think you're an ass, I have to admit that was hilarious. ;)
...and a bit underwhelming. Hopefully it'll be snazzed up by release date.
"u really r a fool DJ . 40 player lol lag n e 1 oh sorry . 40 is to much . u respone and u die cos there to many people on the map dude is ms wanted to do this they could easily do it. "

Could you translate that into human for us?
There was no 720p version via that link, just the video and a 'fullscreen' option. Thanks for pointing that other link out though - maybe the article should've been clicked to the main link instead of to the single video.
I didn't realize that was the same site (I've downloaded a lot of their 720p movies via those more detailed pages.) I do think your attempt at an insult gives that site more credit than is due in terms of their popularity. I guarantee it's more than jus...
I was just poking fun at the silly trend of using sports analogies. :) You can use them to illustrate pretty much any point, e.g. Sony, fully equipped; MS, equipment extra.
O..M..G... Fine, well, here then: if you try "mgs cinematics engine" you'll magically find a bunch of relevant hits on the first page alone. You can even go past page 1, or try different keywords! GooGLEs soo CoOOL.
Your rant goes a little in the way of illustrating my point about this false sense of entitlement that's on the rise among gamers/consumers in general.
I've gone a bit beyond "business 101". How's your Spelling 101 course going?
To be fair I don't think we can say that with any certainty just yet. It's hard to judge these games by videos alone.
There are bound to be tradeoffs in order to achieve the level of detail GOW enjoys. But by opting for third-person, and restricting the number of concurrent players, the game is able to give us some stunning graphics. Throw in the innovative gameplay and all minor quibbles will be forgotten. No game is perfect, but this one is certainly closer than any other 36...
