...that now we're going to see a flood of rambling, overly long posts by the anti-Sony crowd about how they don't want or need those features. And, even if they did, all they'd have to do is a) pay for it, or b) wait for it. (Though in some cases I'd add "c) wish for it".)
(edit: crap, Looking at post 7, I really should've saved this earlier!!)
No, actually it does have a "detachable" HD, which you can replace with any other 2.5" drive. And, you don't need two HD displays, as any combination of HD/SD sets or monitors would work just fine. One main HDMI HDTV coupled with a secondary component/s-video display for map/stats/whatever would be interesting.
SILENT BOMBER! I can't believe that it's one of the first to arrive. It's the only one that really piqued my interest when I thought of original PS games. I'm in.
Please stop posting complete or mostly-complete articles from other sites. It's highly unprofessional and beyond the idea of fair-use. Clearly defined excerpts are one thing, but the pasting of nearly-complete pieces on this site is far too common.
I love what the PS3 will be capable off, but honestly, this article was pure bullcrap. They're making far too many assumptions. This is a prime example of imaginative cannibalization -- over-speculative drivel in the absense of fact.
They're not "screwing Canadians". Give me a break. It's actually cheaper here. $659 CDN (my EB price) works out to roughly $586 at a comfortable .89 exchange rate. If the US price is 599, that translates to roughly $673 CDN. We're ahead in terms of pricing thanks to our dollar.
Link leads to last page of interview. Might want to fix that.
Interesting concept. Neato. Weak soundtrack choices though.
No, it's old. I read this already 4 days ago. I'm fairly sure I got to it via this site too. Anyway, impressions were interesting. I don't see the lightness as being insurmountable. An easy tradeoff for the tilt functions. We shall see in a few weeks.
Isn't this a bit old? Dupe?
You can use your PS2 cables, if you have them. I have s-video and component, so at least I don't have to buy new ones.
Are you insane, or just 8?
Honestly, you guys sound like the little punks who buy modchips. Greedy, me-me-me, ignore-the-consequences children. When you try to skirt the law, you end up paying for it. Learn the lesson here before you screw up anymore in the real world.
And the point of this copy'n'pasted "news" piece is...? What? I think this site needs to define "news" somewhere. Links to blogs that contain regurgitated info is not news. Esp. when it's copied in near-entirety into the "news" item here.
Good thing you double-spaced that list of non-exclusive games. Makes it look bigger! (Oh hush, Just kidding. ;))
<shaking head> Wow. Where to begin...
I think it was in 2003 that Sony announced over a million SOCOM players. Who knows how many have logged in time over the intervening years, with the newer games. Unified or not, SOCOM alone was a highly-successful online 'service'.
...old screenshots.
Did you fail English? You've completely misinterpreted what they were saying.
178GB of anime? Man, that must have been *expensive*. Har. And you wonder why entertainment costs are the way they are. GMAB.
