Yup, exactly right. I think it will be very divisive for alot of people. I'm not even sure it can be fairly reviewed as there's this weight of expectation and uncertainty over Death Stranding; firstly it's a Kojima game, and secondly it's his first independent game since leaving Konami. And then it's a playstation exclusive. I think there will be so much scrutiny and bias from all sides when this game releases that it'll be an experience just watching the media frenzy ...
Well that's a very stunted and short sighted view. Especially considering the RE2 demo has been played by over 1million people - https://twinfinite.net/2019...
I had no intention of buying RE7 until I played the demo, the same is now true with RE2. There have been many games that just did'nt look like my cup of tea - regardless of the reviews. Similarly there have been many g...
Disingenuous much?
You don't know that you can finish the demo in 15minutes BEFORE you start the demo! Your first play through, you naturally take your time exploring the rooms - as you don't know where to go. You spend time finding and picking up items, placing (and missing) your headshots (which will mean you most likely won't get through it in 30minutes - let alone 15minutes).
Alternatively, you rush the demo, skipping past most of the ro...
Exactly. Plants vs Zombies is technically a "zombie game" but that tells you nothing about it's genre.
The Last of Us 2 says "hello" - one of the most anticipated games this gen.
Heck it's not alone either, Resident Evil 2, Days Gone, Dying Light 2, World War Z, etc etc.
The Zombie genre is far from dead, and games like TLOU2, RE2 are guaranteed to sell millions of copies i.e. millions of people still love zombie games!
This game looks more interesting each time I hear about it.
Any chance we can catch a glimpse of what was shown? Especially as Sony won't be at E3 this year, when next will we see more of Death Stranding?
I think it's safe to say that the PS4 will surpass the Wii lifetime sales before the year is over. PS4 is well on-track to be the second best selling home console - behind the PS2 (not counting handheld consoles i.e. the DS).
...but it still had fixed camera angles. You couldn't rotate the third person camera. That was first introduced to the series in Metal Gear Solid 3:Subsistence after massive fan outcry about the fixed camera angles in Snake Eater.
I'm not sure if I would count Peace Walker since it's a portable game. The development scales are very different for mobile titles and full AAA releases. Moreover Peace Walker was a subsequent release to MGS:Portable Ops, so much of the games infrastructure was already in place.
I get that Kojima is using the Decima engine, and so doesn't have to build an engine from scratch, but still they only got that engine in 2016, and at that time Kojima Productions and G...
Well somethings brewing, that's for sure! I guess Kojima Productions have completed a significant milestone if they're showing it off to GG. Although I'm still not convinced Death Stranding will release this year, I mean, when was the last time Kojima developed a game in like 3 years? The only hint we have is that Kojima said the game wold be out before the Tokyo Olympics, which starts on 24th July 2020. So I reckon we'll see Death Stranding around April 2020.
Thank goodness that we've moved on from fixed camera modes. It was the limited technology at the time that constricted development to such techniques, but now, I don't really think there's a need to go back to it - except for novelty and nostalgia sake, because it really limits gameplay.
I hope one day there's a Metal Gear Solid and MGS2 next-gen remake with full 3D camera,. That would be awesome. But unfortunately... Konami... :(
Yep, I remember buying Official Playstation and PC Gamer magazine just for the monthly demos that came on the CD. Publishers today think that Demo's can negatively impact sales, but as Capcom proves, that it can actually boost sales if the demo is done well (although I strongly disagree with one-shot timed demos).
Best game demo evah! had to be the MGS2 demo that came out with Zone of the Enders on PS2. I bought that game just for the MGS2 demo.
Yeah I think realiatiaclly MS has left it too late for teh cloud technology to really have an impact this gen. I think it'll be next gen that we'll see more use of that technology.
Well I hope there's a survival Horde mode. It would be a crying shame if they didn't add one. Even better would be a co-op survival Horde mode :))
All the best game trailers are able to combine just enough story, gameply, intrigue and bombast to whet the players appetite. It's just that Sony Bend have shown the same gameplay loop over and over since 2016. They really need to show and say something new is all I'm saying.
Wait what? I think you're in the wrong thread mate.
Although I do agree that BFV is not as good as BFBC2, BF1, BF3, or BF4. Which is a real shame really.
How could you forget the main man - Kratos! RrraaaAaAawwwrr!!!

You forgot Dead Space.
