It's not just a downgrade, it's a testament to MS's inability to harness their own tech to achieve their stated aims and goals with the Cloud this gen. It was an ambitious pipe dream, and props to them for trying. It is likely that the cost of adding cloud servers became prohibitive as the in-game destruction progresses across the millions of games being hosted at the same time. They said they had to spin up 14 additional servers within minutes of just one match starting, just to ...
I guess they're trying to manage expectations 😆
So that would mean it would be scheduled to launch bewteen 1st April 2019 and 31st March 2020? If this is true, then I think it will definitly be announced at PSX and launch in holiday 2020. If sales are dipping then I think we will see some of their first part games launch this year to boost sales.
"Less than it was supposed to be" is being disingenuous. It's a real shame that the gaming community has been fueled over the years by bullshots and hyperbole; the constant pixel counting for bragging rights has conditined the community to become hyper critical of games that come out. Gone are the days when it was simply the fun factor that mattered, more than the resolution or how many frames per second the game runs at.
Howerver I do think that developers n...
Just a heads-up, be prepared to clench for that B run through. My goodness it's ramps up the intensity!
It's not surprising when you go back and look at the Gamescom 2015 footage. How do you spell DOWNGRADE again?
Looks like they all had a really great time (obviously the trailer doesn't show the 2hr long queues before you actually get hands-on). Sony are really getting the word out there, and maintaining that mindshare. Looking forward to Sekiro and Days Gone - btw loving that Days Gone cosplay.
Thank God it doesn't have fixed camera angles. I get turned around enough as it is.
There is a massive difference in the level of ambient 3D sound when I have my headphones on and when the sound output through the TV. Literally with headphones on it is a very different and terrifying experience.
Yeah when you see the Gamescom 2015 footage its then you realize there has been a massive massive downgrade. It doesn't really even come close to the original vision.
I know what you're thinking this is nothing like what was shown at Gamescom 2015 - Here's the actual multiplayer demo from Gamescome 2015, nothing at all like what is being released - https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Not even close.
... oops o.0
@Skippy
I couldn't have said it better myself; this is what I've been trying to say all along. If BFBC2 could have the level of destruction it did in a multiplayer game 10 years ago then what exactly is cloud computing contributing to the Crackdown 3 player experience now that couldn't be achevied without it? I see nothing significant at all. The destruction in question is nowhere near what was shown at Gamescom 2015 - 2708d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment
I mean... I've been loving multiplayer destruction since BFBC2. I didn't know they had the power of teh cloud back then...

Exactly. Apparently it's equivalent to 12 XboxOnes' tied together, so why does it still look like a last gen game? If you have 12 times the computing power of the Xbox one should'nt it be 12 times better than anything that's currently out there?
I think were being sold a bill of good tbh
@Jin_Sakai
Completely agree. If this is all they have to show the POWA OF DA CLOUDz then they've wasted alot of time, money and effort for nothing. They should havd instead used the resources to make Crackdown a truly AAA
expericence to rival their closest competitors. Instead we get what looks like a low budget AA last gen effort.
Red Faction and Battelfield games have had multiplayed destruction since last gen without the use of cloud computing, wh...
@SilverHawk
Exactly. If this is all they have to show for it, it doesn't seem to have been worth the time, money or effort.
TBH this looks like a last gen game. For all the power of the cloud it still doesn't hold up to the exclusives of the competition. I was expecting something that couldn't be done, but we've seen multipayer destructible environments before - heck Battlefied has been doing that since the 360 days with BFBC. Epic disapointment.
BackCompat is really not optional at his point, Sony practically HAVE TO include it. There's no way they could make a case that their stellar line up of excluisive won't be available to play on PS5., or that consumers would have to pay extra or jump through random pointless hoops to do so. They would shoot themselves in the foot by not including it - especially when the competition have it. In any case, news from the rumour mill seems to indicate that backcompat will be included in th...
"The Xbox community demands more quality from Sony than their own console of choice."
Best comment I've read on here in ages :)
