I see what you did there... ;)
I think the problem with Anthem is EA not so much Bioware. EA will force them to monetise the game, which inevitably impacts upon game design. They are no longer free to make games as they used to make them - this is one of the reasons why I love Sony first party games. They have so much more xreative freedom, and are not forced to monetise their games. I was so surprised that God Of War didn't have any microtransactions, or paid DLC skins. It would have been so easy for Sony to have made...
I know Nintendo are doing well, but I'm not sure sales of the Switch will surpass the xbox one by the end of the year. It's not as though sales of xbox one are going to stop completely, they will still probably sell another 10 million consoles before the end of the year. I have to say though, Microsoft will really have to work hard next gen to turn the tide.
I feel exactly the same. I'll try the demo, but in reality I think I'm done with these persistent multiplayer GaaS games, and as shiny as Anthem looks, I know that it'll just be another loot grind shooter.
But why change the original back-story anyway, it seems like a completely needlress change.
Really? I didn't know that. Very interesting.
Yeah I don't pre-order from GAME anymore. Way too many bad experiences with their "day 1" delivery that arrives a week and a half late.
I love Resident Evil and have played my fair share of RE games. I'm just as hyped for the RE2 remake as anyone else; but consider that there have been over 40 RE games released since 1996 and that at least one RE game has been released nearly every year since then - with some years seeing multiple different RE games being released ( https://uk.ign.com/articles... various RE games released ...
Damn you Brexit!

While there where many emotionally charged moments for me, the three that brought me to the point of tears was the sequence where David tried to kill Ellie. She just manages to overpower him and hacks to death. Joel come bursting in and hugs her while she cries on his shoulder - https://www.youtube.com/wat...
The second sequence was when Ellie ...
I love Red Dead 2, but I'm not sure it was a revolution as much as it was just an evolution of the genre. Rockstar relied too much on old gaming tropes; for example, the auto-fail mission states if you for exampe lost the bounty, or "abandon the mission", or you went to point 'X' when you're supposed to be at point 'Y' - whatever. The story and mission should have just continued regardless, and those "fail-states" should have just become a part of y...
I'm willing to bet that this game will score a 9.5 meta average. I can't wait to head into Racoon city with the lights off, headphones on, and a bag of nerves :)
Sony will sell more game consoles and more copies of multiplatfirm gamer will be sold on the PS4. So even if you don't count the exclusives - Sony will still "win" 2019.
hahhaahahaaa...
Don't be mean.
I love that picture :)
I have to say though that while I agree that "SoulsBourne" should become an RPG sub-genre in it's own right, I hope we dont just get clones of the 'soulsbourne' games. I like what The Surge tried to do with the formula, and I'm very interested to see how Sekiro will turn out, if that can still be viewed as a "SoulsBourne" game.
Wow! A very long and droll article about Zombies. From EuroGamer of all peoples. But... what about zombie fatgue? I thought you guys said nobody buys games about zombies anymore becasue, you know... fatigue. Oh thats right, I forgot Resident Evil 2 is out in a week and Eurogamer has been gushing all over it with article after article. What happemnd to the zombie fatigue? Eh.. guys? Oh that's right, it only applies to a certain upcoming game on a specific game consoles. Ahhh... I see. You...
Don't get me started man. I'll start gushing and folks round here will think I'm a paid Sony shill.
But the truth is The Last of Us made me cry... three times. In my first playthrough. No other game has had that effect on me before or since. It's not just a masterpeice, it's a genre-defining magnum opus.
It's interesting I can't remember any open world games having a demo - maybe it's just me. But yeah I agree, they should release that "Horde Mode" as a demo. I hope at the very least there will be a stand alone horde survival mode in the game.
I'm loving RE2 so far the blend of atmosphere, puzzles, story. It's just brilliant. I'm not sure if it's as scary a some other horror games I've played though, maybe I'm not so scared of zombies as I once used to be. Anyway I can't wait to complete my first run through so I can do it all over again with Leon (yes I started with Claire).
