I actually think TLOU2 will release this year (maybe I just desperatly hope that it does), maybe I'm pinning too much on the alleged "leak" from the soundtrack https://gamefragger.com/pla... I think it will be in that Sept-Nov window. (Although it'd be great if it came out on Outbreak day i...
Yeah I think PS4 will easily blow past 100million units by the end of this year. Exclusive heavy hitters like TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Days Gone, etc have yet to release. Heck PS4 will probably still blow past 100mill units regardless of the upcoming exclusives.
As I posted below "I followed the development of Ninja Theory's Senua's Sacrifice and watched all the dev blogs they put out. It was a fanstastic game, that I'd highly recommend. But my heart sank when I heard that Microsoft had bought the studio. The challenges Ninja theory faced developing that game, the time they were afforded, the freedom to innovate and try new things, the investment in new technology and new techniques etc, are what went to making for a great game, but ...
I hear you, and I acknowledge that these studios do have pedigree. I have to agree with Godmars290's point though, that fundamentally the sort of creativity and creative freedom curated by Sony and Nintendo, and that kind of risk taking is not typical of Microsoft's publishing culture. Sure there are games that break that mold, but they are few and far between.
Microsoft would typically have cancelled a game like Bloodbourne because it wouldn't cater to its pri...
Resolution, frames per second, support for indies, AND exclusive games. They ALL matter to defining a great console. That's why MS spent millions acquiring new studios, because they acknowledge and recognise this fact.
The highest rated games on Metacritic are primarily SP games, and Metacritic is simply reporting the objective truth, they have no fanboy bias. It Doesn't mean that "singleplayer games are all that matter" or that "no one cares for mult...
Microsoft have alot of ground to cover next gen. They've acquired a lot of new studios, but the pedigree needs time to mature. Sony 1st party studios like SSM, GG, ND, etc have had multiple generation to iterate on their respective franchises. It's very hard to pull off a day one mega hit like fortnite or Overwatch - and even then those studios have long pedigree.
All that power and no games exclusive to the platform to show it off. We're still waiting to see "the power of the cloud." From what I've seen of Crackdown 3, it doesn't look like they even used any of the power at all.
Naa, it'll just be a distraction, like the Zune and kinect etc. Just give us high quality AAA games instead on the standard console.
It's been a truly great year for PS4. I look forward to what my Playstation has to offer in 2019 and beyond. Beyond!
Yeah I hope they give The Order 1886 the treatment it deserves. They should take a cue from games like Dishonoured, and Bloodbourne, for that gritty dystopian-open world-city, open ended gameplay type game (if you know what I mean).
It's probably the set-up scene for the, "I'm going to find and kill every last one of them" scene. I'm guessing Ellie is singing 'that song' to Dina when they get ambushed/betrayed/killed, either by the cult - Seraph or by the fireflies.
Aww man, it just makes the wait so much harder to bear!
Detroit Become Human is an RPG? Sorry, Best RPG of 20818? How can it be even nominated for Best RPG when it's not an RPG? I love Detroit Become Human, but the Aussie Game Awards sounds like a complete mess.
Here's the thing about this generation of gamers - they are an entitled bunch. This whole idea that "because I have an opinion, therefore my opinion must be right", is so flawed it might a well be a pathological condition.
Just because a person has an opinion doesn't mean their opinion is right. Shocking - I know. I actually know people who believe the world is flat. It's just their opinion. I guess they must be right then aye?
I'm really surprised that Bethesda are still releasing content for this game. It's an absolute gem of a game. I hope they're also working on a sequel.
I think the in-game economy was intentionally set the way it was because of microtransactions. They probably did anticipate "player feedback" (aka fan backlash), and simply had a plan B to adjust for "player feedback". Take Two will no doubt still want profits from RDR2 to be record breaking, so don't expect the in-game economy to work against the microtransactions.
So there's no PSX this year, but when are we going to get the next Last of Us 2 trailer? PSX2019? Does that mean the game releases in 2020?
How could you forget day 1 patches? When you have full retail games that release and then require GB's in Day 1 patches, you know there's something wrong there.
It's called Stockholm Syndrome aka blind fanboyism. Companies love it, and they exploit it to feed their greed.
I think there's a very good chanceTLOU2 will release this year. I think it'll be out sometime in the 4th quarter before PSX in December.
