You say that like Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable aren't all huge franchises. People have different tastes. XBL also dominated PSN early on which may have been a huge factor for some.
I hope this is true so the PC port isn't likely to be a piece of crap like GTA IV was on release.
They were demonstrating why always-online is stupid, and I think they proved their point. I'm sure if Microsoft really do use always-online the attacks will be a lot more frequent.
That's not what a bottleneck is. A bottleneck is the flow of information through hardware, where to much information is getting pushed to a certain device, while said device can't handle the amount of information at that time. It really is like a bottle's neck. If you get a bottle of coke and turn it upside down, it doesn't all flow out, because the bottle neck restricts how much can come out at any one time.
An example in PC terms would be having the worlds f...
I'm no mathematician, but I'm pretty sure 400 is less than 600, which would mean that sony went with cheaper hardware...
Just by looking at the specs you can see they have gone that route. You forgot that sony put an 8 core cpu into the PS3, as well as took a leap of faith with blu-ray, that was a HUGE step forward and was something that was a big risk, which sony lost huge amounts of money doing. While the PS4 is putting up some pretty graphics and I'm sure it wi...
"Nobody is trying to say that the next-gen consoles will be more powerful than PCs."
Somebody wasn't around for the first week after PS4 was announced. It was all "omg 8GB DDR5 RAM. Killzone using 25% PS4 power. Will destroy PCs for years to come." Every thread related to PS4 had many, many people saying that.
Welcome to technology. Why would I want a 4k tv when I can get 4 1080p screens for 1/3rd of the price?
Like I said, people were saying Nvidia COULDN'T make good enough technology, and that the PS4 WILL be more powerful than current PCs, and Nvidia proved them wrong.
Also I would like to point out that Nvidia is a company, it isn't just one man saying everything. Nvidia may still have partnership with Sony, it doesn't mean other people in the organ...
At the people asking Nvidia to be quite: Why should they?
They are a hardware manafacturer. They are constantly getting slammed by console fanboys about how crap they are, and that they aren't good enough for the consoles. People were saying that consoles will be more powerful than PCs. Nvidia retaliates and backs up their claims with proper statistics and all of a sudden Nvidia is 'butthurt'.
I know nobody ever actually reads these articles, but...
"No PC game is optimize to use more than 50% of any GPU power. "
Stop saying that. "Power" is a made up console term. It will use 100% of the power if need be, it just won't be as optimized, and even that isn't clear on a percentage of usage.
And please, before you go throwing around hardware terms, understand what they do and how they work.
It was obvious the article was going to be shit just from the "real gamers" section, it's just as bad as a title with "girl gamer" in it. 90% sure this article was written for hits, which judging by the comments section here, it is doing well.
Delay's stopping you from buying? A 'real' gamer wouldn't want an unfinished product, almost all high budget AAA games get delayed simply because they are so big there are always things popping up...
You are kidding yourself if you don't think the higher ups have an extremely rough idea of what they are doing hardware wise. It isn't like they are going "hmm let's go this $300 graphics card... NOPE we are going for the $2 one now!". Nvidia are one of two main graphic card developers, I am 100% positive that some people at the company know an extremely close version of what is going to be released on each console.
Pretty much this. AMD have always been the cheaper version for hardware. Saying that Nvidia couldn't make the tech is just ridiculous. Maybe they should look over the Nvidia Titan again before they talk crap, but I guess that's just how you play the market, and AMD are clearly trying to go the route of console praise.

Motion has been fine for years now. LA Noire's tech was pretty much spot on and facial animation will only improve from here on out. The main thing stopping realism now is lighting/shading, and hair.
Why is android bad? The OS doesn't lag, the device does. I'm running 4.2 on my Nexus and it never lags at all.
You say it's on another level, yet you say games look better than it. Makes so much sense.
The only people that you listed that even matter for Unreal Engine is Mark Rein, and from what I can see from googling, he still works at Epic, and still works on the UE4.
Most developers will tend to stick with what they know, the upgrade from UE3 to UE4 is a lot less of a difference than changing to a totally different engine.
Curious as to how long this DLC will be. Loved the hell out of Dishonored, probably my favourite game from last year, but I beat it in a day which was a bit disappointing.
I bought my PC and PS3 at the same time. Both cost AUS $1000. My PC came with a screen and it ran Crysis fine, it also had a working web browser and I was able to chat to friends in other games. EVERYONE uses a PC, for the price to upgrade from a normal working PC to one with slightly better parts it really isn't that much of a price upgrade, it's cheaper than buying a console at launch that's for sure.
N4G is full of 12 year olds that jump to conclusions. Nobody has ever stated the 'always on, always connected' was a DRM or a 'big brother' type thing, and nobody has said that it is compulsory, maybe it will be enabled if you decide.
You know how PSN has the option to magically turn on and download updates? This could be all that is... The PS3 ran at low power and then turned on during a set time to download updates. Durango could just be 1 upping that. Hell,...
It really isn't. Everything is leaning more towards open source and giving the consumer what they want, not going the DRM and forcing the user into set pieces. The future of many games will be free, moddable games, and for that to occur the consoles are going to have to be opened up eventually.
Now think about this: An open source console where many games are free, that aren't plagued with DRM and always-online features, compared to a console that is completely lock...
