I primarily game on PC. My point had nothing to do with PlayStation apart from the games you named. Sequels should always be similar. I like the game, so when they change the game to something different, it isn't what I originally liked is it?

Wasn't Fuel just randomly generated bumps?

Worst arguement I have ever seen. Sequels are meant to be similar. It's terrible when they change to much.

Do you think games like Halo and Gears of War are anymore different than the games you named?

And Last of Us is a stealth/survival game with little ammo, and Uncharted is a shooter/adventure game where you shoot everywhere and scale buildings. Of course a game by the same developers will have a similar feel to it though. Why wouldn't you make som...

Gotta love N4G and their mind that works based on numbers. DDR5 is faster, however it only has a 32 bit channel, where as DDR3 has a 64 bit channel, meaning it can transfer more data in a single hit.

Both have their pros and cons and can outperform each other depending on what is needed. Hardware is never about just numbers.

Well, since we can be assured that it won't allow pictures, movies or music we aren't left with much. Then we can deduct the fact that saving games is pointless when MS would be more likely to store game data on their site's servers. Then we can also deduct partial installs, as neither partial or full games will be streamed through the cloud using this service, we are left with game saves.

So even if you have 100 saves, MS is allowing you to have what, 200mb? So m...

To be fair you don't know how you would react in his situation, and some people do get bullied just for the sake of it.

As much as I dislike Fish, there was no justification to publicly call him a fucking asshole just because he didn't want to comment on a rumor.

He has had people abusing him non stop for months for no reason. I'm sure if you had people daily talking shit about you, and sending emails saying how crap your games are, you would eventually tick. Double that up with the fact that Phil appears to have some sort of mental/anger issues, and had a friend die recently, I think it's pretty fair to say he reacted fine when someone publicly shamed him on a show.

It would be extremely annoying to be in the position he is i...

The point most people are making is that it isn't what MS say it is. There is no way they will allow you to upload whatever you want, especially ripped or pirated content.

MS are just going full damage control, when really they are just talking about a feature that already exists on many other services.

That's probably what getting screwed around making a basic game for 5 years while constantly having on going problems with the creators/publishers cause.

@aliengmr

It was sarcasm. Nobody would be stupid enough to make four games if they sell badly.

I'm all for SR4. I love the route they are taking with just making everything fun and do things that have never been done, instead of trying to one up GTA.

You've got to hand it to MS PR. They sure know how to push out bullshit features that make their fans happy.

They may as well state that their console is free*.
*with the donation of $500.

Hate CoD as much as you want, but you know why people buy it? It's not because they hate it.

I'm not stating that CoD is good, but your must have a mental problem if you deny that people don't enjoy it.

Your sales argument would work if you were talking about a pre-packaged game like wii sports, but people actually go out and buy CoD.

For software development to be able to work you need to be able to create and stop processes, read and write files, and much more. For this to work they are going to need to have the system pretty damn open. People will find ways to make pirated games to run if it lets you run any source code you want. And just like PC, it will be plagued with people changing the software.

Protip: Microsoft doesn't want this, as you can see by the fact that they wanted 24 hour check ins. ...

The feature isn't coming out at launch, and there isn't even a release date for it, so why couldn't they have made it up in the last few months.

You think MS was like "Yeah, lets have this really locked down console where you have to check in every 24 hours, BUT we will make it totally open so everyone can develop on it!".

It makes no sense. Why wouldn't they mention this or any of the other features they have revealed in the last f...

Wow, I'm not even going to read anymore past the first point. People who write, develop, create, or program games don't need to be gamers. They do the job they are good at. Just because you can 360 no-scope in CoD doesn't make you a good writer or programmer.

And let's not forget the fact that World of Warcraft has been running for nearly 9 years just through expansions, and STILL has 7.7 million monthly PAYING customers. That's more than any other game has ever done.

Huge drop in numbers considering they were sitting at 12mil subscribers at the end of 2011 though.

4574d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yep. No way MS will let it be completely open for anybody to develop, using all the features. They were trying to be super strict with the XB1 with their daily check-ins, and now we are meant to believe that they have done a total 180 and are allowing it to be nearly completely open?

I would say a huge amount of devs are given dev kits for free. MS wouldn't want to miss out on a developer like EA.

And dev kits are actually slightly more powerful than the hardware, as they need to be for debugging purposes, so a real dev kit will still be an 'advantage'.
