Welcome to technology. Same could be said for HD, I recall seeing TVs that were 20k AUS years back, now you can get the same for next to nothing. As technology evolves it gets cheaper to make, it will become affordable. Hell, look at how much bluray players have come down in the last few years.

It's funny seeing people say how terrible people who download games for free are, yet bitch when Sony tries to combat this as well as actually make it so they and the devs get some of the money instead of all of it going to a retail store and not helping Sony at all.

To bad after about 2 weeks PC games are already cheaper than used games on consoles. You only have to look at steam, they have been throwing out heaps of games for 75% off, even games like Assassins Creed 3 was like 50% off.

Don't you currently need 2 tvs, 2 consoles, and 2 versions of the game?

I'd take a guess and say that used games takes a bigger hit out of Sony's pocket than pirating games. I'm glad Sony are doing it, shows they have balls and I hate retailers who sell used games for a few dollars less than the brand new game and try to convince people to buy it as its cheaper, netting the store more profit while none goes to developers or Sony.

Apart from Planetside 2 (a free game), please name some that have had problems within the last few years. I think I have seen about 4 hackers total, 3 in counter strike which get banned instantly and 1 in BF3 on day 1 which was also banned instantly. CoD4 on PS3 was unplayable for about a week (before the whole hacking of the ps3), had people flying everywhere and instant killing everyone, and the 360 was even more chaotic for MW2 with hacked lobbies EVERYWHERE, laser guns, instant level ups,...

I'm not saying what they do is correct, but you are looking at it totally wrong, you have to realise that experimenting with hardware and software are peoples jobs, they love it, they do it as a hobby as well as a career, you can't expect them to not do it, it's like expecting people to not find glitches or exploits in a game. Your car example is terrible, they haven't destroyed anything, if anything a better example would be them modifying their car and then stating what they...

Hurr durr someone does something I don't like so there must be other motives. Many 'hackers' do it out of curiosity, others for more freedom. Do you really find it that hard to believe that people wanted to add extra features to the PS3? Have you ever added a program to your computer simply for the fact that there wasn't already a program of that sort on your computer? Sure, everyone may not have had the same motives, but some people wanted to and others like GeoHot just LIKE ...

The PS3 will not be able to render 1.3 times better than the GTX 680. Size aside (who wants a PS4 the size of a beast computer?), price aside (people don't want to pay thousands), view distance (and physics, textures, and all that other crap) aside, and assuming PS3 comes out in the next year or two (it will be worse than the GTX 680 most likely), assuming that games will be looking better and have mo...

Great example... A game from an Indie developer that was created on a low budget. Crysis 3 is ONLY supporting DX11, so it is missing out on a huge client base purely for the fact that they want it to push PCs and set a new benchmark for graphics, one could say that it is a sign that PC is still going strong in the graphic department...

Seriously, some people are just so stupid. Most PCs today wouldn't be able to run a high end game maxed graphics at 60fps with 4k resolution, and you can pretty guarantee that the PS4 won't be as powerful as the top end PCs at the moment, not unless you expect the PS4 to cost a huge amount as well as being absolutely massive.

"doesn't exist"

How do you think graphic cards without dedicated RAM works? They just have 0 RAM?

4791d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Consoles don't really need dedicated video ram. It isn't like a PC where it is more needed because you aren't running Windows, music, skype, web browsers, video recording, and every other application. It is simply running the game and the XMB/Dashboard which is low on system resources anyway. You could have 16gb of RAM and 8gb of that could be used for video memory.

Do you understand copyright? This isn't "they have a zombie game so it's a copy" this is "they TOOK images from the walking dead and put them in their art". They didn't ask to use images from a show and used it to help advertise their game.

I'd like some examples of "There are lots of games who ripped one another.. " that isn't just an idea like "they are both zombie FPSs".

Yeah, they won't be optimizing it at all... They will just run identical code through both consoles and PC and they will all just magically work and perform at each systems best, because that's just how games work...

I'd much prefer them to just focus on DX11 and get the game looking and running as good as possible, rather than t...

Oh my god, it's the first person on n4g to understand how games work. I love how people think that devs aren't pushing all of the hardware to the limits, if they weren't they would just add in anti-aliasing or something, but they aren't, because they can't. Optimization is the only thing that is making games get better.

Crytek has been going that direction for ages, free 2 play (aka pay 2 win) is simply better. You hit a WAY bigger market, and the people who buy the game will pay money for extra upgrades, characters etc. while the crowd who aren't sure still get to test out the game and can then decide to start paying money for extras. Add in the top of advertisement for the millions of people that are playing, and they are raking in the money. It is an extremely smart business move, and to be honest, do...
