"until the game is approved"
That makes zero sense in the development world. You think you need to go through MS to actually run the code you build? They would be getting requests from developers every few minutes to test out a simple snippet of code. There is something huge that MS aren't talking about, I bet there will be a lot of dissapointed indie devs come Gamescon.
Also, a little tip for hacking and software. If it can be built, it can be ...
If it is fully open to anyone to develop for, what's stopping people from running pirated games? People could just slightly modify a real game and it would run, similar to how it's done on PC. There must be something huge they are not mentioning.
Sounds like it's just PR making up crap to try and win the popularity back, but I would love to see a proper article on licencing costs, public SDK, censorship and the like in relation to creating for the console.
Exclusives have never had anything to do with architecture, it's about money from other companies.
Maxing out a system doesn't mean that you can't achieve better. They will just push the system as hard as they can without noticeable framerate drops which is entirely possible.
Hell, you could max out a PS4 just using a single particle system if you have enough particles in it.
If there are 3 main characters that you can change between during a mission, why does it matter if one is AI or a player? I'm not seeing how this would change anything.
Or even just have the option of a character that doesn't exist that someone can play as, it wouldn't effect it at all story wise, and you wouldn't have to play it if you didn't want to.
@JP1369
Stop reading what you want to read. He CLEARLY states "We can pass almost 20 gigabytes a second down that bus,".
All he is saying is that it has a secondary bus that allows communication directly between the two, instead of going through the middle man. That speeds it up, but it still can't travel at the full speed of GDDR5 due to bottle necking of the bus, so it is still similar to a PC in that it can only use the amount of speed simil...
Haha yep, looks like I totally zoned out, for some reason I thought this was The Crew.
Both look fantastic, one of the reasons I will be picking up a next gen console near release.
I never understand why the people who get to play these games are always so bad.
Hoping this game will be the next successor to Burnout Paradise, so far it's looking amazing.
Your arguments could be said for any console or PC...
And I'm pretty certain every game on the official ouya store does have controller support.
I wasn't even defending OUYA, I just gave some valid reasons as to why one might want it. It's fantastic as a media center and I doubt you can find anything on the market for the same price that matches it in terms of price and power for a media center.
I didn't say it was a good choice for personal preference. If it has a 98/100 rating obviously a majority enjoyed the game or it would have gotten worse reviews. I know reviews don't even matter much, but Xof saying it can't get much worse was saying that it's pretty much crap, which wasn't the case for most.
Because a tablet costs more?
Because every game on a tablet doesn't support controller?
Because you can't play 4 player games with a controller on a tablet?
There's many reasons. Haters gonna hate.
Metacritic would like a word with you.
That targeting and movement sounds disgusting, but I guess if you aren't use to the original gameplay not much will be missed.
Taking away the auction house is an amazing decision, I wish Blizzard allowed a separate character league on PC that had an increase in loot and took away the auction house.
I hope you aren't being serious.
I missread over the one or two years part. That kind of makes even less sense since it requires a whole new team to get together to understand and port the code as well as add new code. Most people that really want the game would have bought the console to play it, as you said, which means that the amount of sales that will come would be minimal and not be worth it.
Trust me, if this were easy money all the companies would be on it.
Apart from the fact that, you know, it's a reason to buy the console which in turn means more people buying the exclusives and other games, which in turn amounts to even more profit.
If it were that simple don't you think all the big companies would be doing that? Or don't you think companies care about money?
Yeah, I remember seeing a Fallout trailer way before 1979 when Mad Max came out, totally a rip off.
Let's be real, why wouldn't they count crappy facebook games? They count crappy games on android like Candy Crush, so why wouldn't they count the PC equivalent?
The matter of fact is, regardless of data, that PC gaming is striving just as much, if not more, than it previously has. Diablo 3 set a PC sales last year, and World of Warcraft had something like 12 million ACTIVE subscribers last year, as well as games like the original Counter Strike, nearly 14 years ol...
Every graphics card has it, but system memory is DDR3... Not everything is done by the GPU. Faster RAM will always be better for CPU cycles, where as it isn't needed as much for GPU as DDR5 allows textures to be transported in larger quantities to the GPU, and they usually aren't switched in and out of VRAM as much compared to other tasks that the CPU performs.
If only there was some sort of way to sort the good from the bad, to bad such an amazing thing like a 'most viewed' or 'top rated' category has never existed before...
