That's not what occlusion in relation to gaming is.
If you read the article he stated that before you would use buildings and mountains to occlude, now you can use dynamically moving things.
Occlusion is a GOOD thing, it reduces the amount of rendering required.
Here is an old video of Umbra (what the article is about) occlusion so you can see it better.

"flash RAM"
U w0t m8? RAM isn't the harddrive. And flash memory IS fast, it's similar to SSDs. They don't just have a USB drive plugged in on the inside.
I don't think you realise there are people who PAY to get their devices 'installed'. Not everyone grasps technology. Once you get these people to put the correct shape into the correct hole, you start facing problems.
Who would have thought a teaser trailer would be a teaser!
Notch borrowed almost all of his ideas and the game is programmed terribly.
It's like saying the people behind CoD have more talent compared to other devs because they sell more.
They are for freedom and options? I don't think you know what either of those words mean. You aren't free to do what you want, and you don't have options on a per game basis. You do what Sony and the devs want and that's it. You cannot add or remove anything, install custom firmware or mods, change settings or anything. How is that freedom and options?
Believe it or not some people actually like strategies instead of mindlessly facerolling the same content.
@The_Infected
"weaker hardware" is entirely subjective. Are you saying you cannot put Android on better hardware?
MS joined the race late, after PS1, and turned out to be fine. The wii showed that you can have crap hardware and destroy the competition. Not saying it's likely for a new console to do it, but it is still possible.
The fact that android runs on java is a whole separate debating topic though.
OUYA was doomed the second they didn't allow the Play Store to be on it, as well as not allowing the console be totally open as they originally stated.
I can't even turn that crap into a linux box, now I'm stuck with a box that hasn't been used more than a few hours.
Multi-threading is related to a single core, not multiple cores. It's one core using multiple threads.
You can have a single core that uses multi-threading, or multiple cores that don't use multi-threading.
Resolution is purely processing power, it has nothing to do with data size. You can have high res textures in a low res game (though it won't be obvious), or low res textures in a high res game.
What's the point of squads in a game where nobody uses teamwork?
I miss CoD4, the game went so downhill after that. Adding in more killstreaks was the beginning of the end. Then dual pistols and riot shields? It use to just be a normal face paced shooter and now it's just full of random crap.
GPU drivers are very common...
It's like saying every PS3 update was in response to 360.
If I've learnt anything on my time here since the PS4 and XBone were announced, it's that everyone here are hardware engineers who are also top of the line software engineers at a big development studio, who also develop indie games in their spare time.
"Cricket doesnt have a huge following"
American's are just to damn funny. Cricket is one of the most popular sports in the world.
Graphics aside, what the hell was up with that trailer? The animations looked disgusting and it was just the main character listening to a women on the phone, and then a truck driving into her? What sort of trailer was that. It seems like it would dissapoint more people than it would excite.
Source that PS3 OS runs from harddrive? OS's are meant to be loaded into RAM upon boot.
Where are you getting your information from? 10 year old games still have thousands playing on PC. I could agree with you that PC probably doesn't sell the combined amount, but it sure as shit has more people playing online. The one thing that pisses me off about consoles is that if you buy a game that is like a year old it is dead unless it was a super popular game like CoD which still doesn't have nearly the amount of players as the PC version, unless it's been out for a month. ...
