The article is about PAX, not E3. This isn't a rehash, it's a repeat.
You say that like ANY commercial product is a new idea. You realise they get almost every single idea from researchers in labs right? Kinect's motion controlling wasn't new, wii remotes weren't new, voice control sure as shit isn't new, gooogle glass aren't new. They take ideas and bring it to the masses.
Ultra hi-end PC will be pushing far higher than 1080p. People can already get 4k resolutions, and hardware is only getting better and better. There are graphics card that have 12GB of RAM now.
Where's all the fanboys saying that GG are now crap developers as well? I thought N4G new more about the next gen consoles than the developers, surprised there aren't many saying that they are being lazy and that it's totally possible.
Why the hell would they lie about something to make it worse than it really is? If anything, a company is more likely to say it's better than it is...
@steve30x
That's because it's been patched. It was a heap of shit upon release.
Processing is.... processing. Where on the screen it should be, what it's behind, what direction it's travelling, physics etc.
Rendering (depending on context) is giving the object the texture, lighting, shading etc (all of which can be processing), and then actually displaying it to screen.
Planetside 2 doesn't have destruction, and I have played BF3 and PS2 on PC at max settings, BF3 looks far better, and I'm sure BF4 will look even better.
Also the difference between medium and high really aren't that much these days. It's more minor changes like lighting, shadows, particles, and minor texture changes. Low is when all the graphics get thrown down a heap.
Still having a good laugh at everyone praising Dice for the gameplay, now ...
It doesn't speed up the RAM...
It IS used as virtual memory, and because flash memory is faster than a harddisk in most cases, it is faster virtual memory, so reading and write times are decreased giving an overall faster computer.
PR buzzword overload.
Online databases aren't new. Intelligence systems that learn from data are not new. Dedicated servers are not new.
This whole 'evolving world' bullshit has nothing to do with the 'cloud' at all. They really need to stop marketing it all as something only possible on the 'cloud'.
These comments are hilarious. Random fanboys saying they know more than developers (of which they were praising a week ago).
Some of you people are a joke. Especially the people who try and STILL claim that they are better than PCs. It's the same shit every single gen with you people.
Counter-strike, World of Warcraft, and League of Legends all also say high. All online only, and all have massive followings. Single player isn't needed in every game.
The confusion may come from single player meaning one, and multiplayer meaning more than one.
How do you have a single player campaign while people are running around playing team death match?
Holy shit you are delusional. It's fun in GTA shooting people and running them over, it doesn't mean that I think the real thing is fun or funny.
Saints Row IV wasn't even banned for that weapon, it was because of drug use.
That was in early 2011, and he said they were minimal, which is why he stuck with openGL. Both of them go back and forth in which is better, there really isn't that much difference in either at any one time, apart from the fact that one is limited purely to Windows, while the other supports pretty much everything (All Linux distros inlcluding PS4, Unix, Android, MacOS, iOS etc).
If you google for "valve direct x" you will come across an article that shows that v...
Sure is. I hate how pretty much every industry is basically forced to use Windows and MS Office purely because it's the standard for no reason. Same goes for Direct X.
Why compare all the graphics if you aren't going to bring in the best to compare it to?
MS and Sony fanboys love mouthing the crap out of each other for specs and graphics, yet you bring in PC and suddenly it's just "nobody cares about graphics, go away nerd".
Though I don't expect much from a community that appears to be 15 year old boys at times.
Here's to hoping that MS crashes and burns and everyone shifts to a real OS and all game developers make the switch to OpenGL.
DRM isn't really a 'feature' now, is it?
You are trying to read between the lines, but there's nothing there.
PS4 isn't on par with high end PCs though.
And maybe if you gamed on PC during the few years after the release of PS3 you would realise where a lot of complaints came from. Graphic settings changed a HEAP, you could basically choose between 3 graphic settings and a screen resolution. Most games felt like they literally copy+pasted the game over. Hell, some games still had the xbox buttons displaying even if you had no controller. Other games menus expected you to have a c...
